Aside from honoring Missy Elliot and skipping pioneers here and there, the VH1 Hip-Hop Honors are turning into arguably the best award show out there.
I got to meet a few pioneers for the first time. Interviewed KRS-One , bumped into Chuck D and got to see Peppa's nose job upclose. She so didn't need to do that. She looks like a Jackson now.

BET's Danella interviewing KRS-One on the red carpet
The show was nuts! Not sure if they'll switch up the order for the telecast, but Missy Elliot was the first to be honored. I didn't see Missy. Everybody seems to have a problem with her being honored. Maybe she's protesting herself.
Tweet, Timbaland, Eve, Keyshia Cole, Ciara and Nelly "I Never Knew She Had A Donkey" Furtado took turns peforming Missy songs like "The Rain," "Hot Boy," "Get Your Freak On," "Work It" and "Lose Control."
Missy was followed by the Teddy Riley/ New Jack Swing Tribute performed by Doug E Fresh, T-Pain, Ne-Yo and Kool Moe Dee. The fellers performed "The Show" and Keith Sweat's "I Wanna" among other songs. Security guards were constantly patrolling and confiscating camera batteries, so I had a hard time snapping photos. Still, a few clips of the performances inexplicably fell on my lap.
Let's see. What else? Nelly, Jermaine Dupri and Nick Cannon killed it in arguably the night's best performance, Whodini's "Freaks Come Out At Night." Dudes started dancing off with the members of Whodini at the end. Classic! You know they also did "Friends." Busy Bee and KRS-One honored "Wild Style" while Game, T.I., Ice-T and Pharrell Williams honored Snoop Dogg.
Last but not least, Common, Lupe Fiasco, Pharrell and Busta Rhymes paid homage to A Tribe Called Quest, performing Tribe classics like "Bonita Applebum," "Electric Relaxation" and "Scenario" before the Queens trio took the stage with "Check The Rhyme." Shoot! Even Jirobi was there.

Looks like they didnt want it to be a old school show or better yet wanted more ratings with younger artists. Didnt work in my opinion. This type of show appeals the older crowd that enjoyed this music 20 years ago. Aaron Hall, Damien Hall and Keith Sweat should have been there.
Shout out to my nigga Phife Dawg - classic member of the classic group "A Tribe Called Quest". Get well my nig. 1

i think its weird for Lupe to be involved with the tribe thing considering the fact that he even said that he never heard an album by A Tribe Called Quest.

If you sit down and listen for once in your life you will understand what KRS One was talking about. Yes he did say he had cheer for the towers falling but he said he was speaking for everyone from around the world who had cheer. Do you know how many people, countries hate us? He is sad that many people died on that day but we have to realize what America do to have other countries hate us so bad. I was in the war, and believe me, America have done some fuck up shit. You are just a news listener. Stop believing everything you see or hear on the news. If you continue to listen to what everybody is saying, THEN YOU ARE THE SAME DUMBE ASS THAT HAVEN'T HEARD THE WHOLE STORY OF JENA 6. YOU'RE PROBABLY AGAINST MICHEAL BELL, DICK.

Jack Benson produces Hip Hop Honors and he's nothing more than house nigger scum. The concept of the show is changing because not enough people seem to care about old school rap. He gets the same people every year like Common and now he crowds so many acts into 40 minutes (20 for commercials). How the hell does Missy Elliot get on Hip Hop Honors? Give it up Jack. You've been riding coattails since Yo MTV with Todd 1 but you have no creativity other than sucking Puff's dick from every angle. The same people you pass on the way up you'll pass on the way down.
