Conversations With Saigon: "Whenever It's Somebody Dissin Somebody, It Gets Way More Attention"

This wasn't my first time interviewing Saigon. I conducted a phone interview with the Yardfather when I was only a contributing SOHH writer a while back.

At one point during our phoner, Sai offered his opinion on Cassidy's debut album, Split Personality. Upon reading the transcript, my editor immediately seized the more inflammatory quote. The headline ended up reading, "Saigon Thinks Cassidy's Album Is Garbage" or something.

Needless to say his camp wasn't too happy with the headline. Sai also voiced his displeasure with the piece during a hiphopgame.com interview a bit later. This is something I felt I needed to address when I finally met him face to face.

Jackpot: I wanna get something squared away. I wrote that piece where you were talking about Cassidy. I'd rather be upfront and let you know it was me.

Saigon: Nah! We're cool, man. SOHH is my favorite web site.

No hard feelings as you see. We later spoke on how much attention negative content gets on our web sites. Watch below.

Half these rappers can't do an interview to save their life.

Tip :

^^That's because this is only a segment of the entire interview. If anything, Saigon is one rapper who does give good interviews. Anyway, I agree with Saigon about these Hip Hop websites, and how they promote beef. It's true that the negative news gets more attention. SOHH is an example of that as well. I love this website, but it's true. Let there be some news tomorrow on a rapper dropping a diss track. These poster kids will be all over it.

thats true..how else did kanye and 50 sell so much records...that beef/diss di it for them. by the way did u see this funny new myspace sitcom:"The Way We Live"
