T.I. Listening Party at Manor (NYC)
The bad thing about summertime in the industry is that there are just too many party options in New York City. Take last night (May 31) for example. T.I. was holding a listening party at Manor, Giant Magazine sponsored a Roots concert at the Highland Ballroom, T-Pain took the stage at SOB's and Addidas held an event at one of their Manhattan stores. Most of my colleagues and I opted to stop by T.I. first and then make quick stops at the other events.

T.I. vs TIP album cover
In case you haven't heard, T.I.'s fifth solo album, T.I.vs TIP features monster guest apperances like Jay-Z, Eminem, Lil Wayne and Wyclef Jean. The event quickly kicked off with an introduction by Atlantic Records Chairman and CEO Craig Kallman and words from Grand Hustle's own DJ Drama. Unfortunately, the club atmosphere made it difficult to appreciate the music. TIP apparently noticed. Demanding silence, the king of the south walked through the crowd and repeatedly shouted, "let me get ___ ___ ___ ___ that noise, potna" early on in the evening. According to feedback from attendees, the Eminem, Jay and Wyclef collabos are cuts to look out for.

In addition to the Grand Hustle family, DJ Enuff, DJ Absolute and Ed Lover were also in attendance.

We also make a pit stop at the Roots show, but never made it to T-Pain. Word is both ripped their respective shows. I guess I'll have to catch T Pizzle at his album release party next week.
