College Humor held "America's Hottest College Girl" party at NYC's Midtown Loft & Terrace last night (June 20).

Let's cut to the chase. The event never lived up to its potential. The large venue was still somewhat empty an hour into the festivities and the crowd wasn't as diverse as we're used to. Let's not get it twisted, I get my Quincy Jones on from time to time, but last night just wasn't for me. I found myself frustrated with the lack of sisters, latinas and asian women in attendance. The funny thing is several friends of mine were denied access to the event. Why? The joint was empty.
Anyway, we headed to Cornerstone Promotions' offices for Pharoahe Monch's listening session before College Humor crowned the country's hottest college girl.

Monch's album has leaked several weeks ago, so there wasn't much listening to do. The verdict is in and most in the industry give Desire two thumbs up.
The evening ended with a quick stop at Link where Hip-Hop Soul Magazine celebrated the success of their recent issue (R.Kelly cover). The fiesta was basically dead by the time we got there.
