I'm a sucker for clever t-shirts that reference early female rap lyrics (remember the Ill Na Na shirt?). So naturally this "I Rock Ruff and Stuff With My Afro Puffs" caught my eye. Turns out, it's one of the first pieces from a new ladies streetwear brand out of BK, Yours Truly Brand. I tracked down the owner Jenny Musitano to get the 411.

What's up? My name is Jenny Musitano and I am the creator and owner of Yours Truly Brand.
Describe the ideal Yours Truly wearer in one sentence.
The lady who knows she got it going on and thrives to be even better.
If you had to pick a female celebrity to represent the brand, who would you choose and why?
I don't think there are any female celebrities that I would want to "represent" the brand. There are a number of reasons for this, one being the fact that I can't think of anyone. I want ladies to wear the brand because they feel it themselves not cause they see it on someone who is famous.
How did the idea for Yours Truly come about and how did it go from an idea to a reality?
Starting a clothing line has been a dream of mine since I was about 9 yrs old. Even then I knew it would be what is now labeled as high-end streetwear. After working in a few different industries and growing out of them quickly, I decided to go back to what I always wanted to do. I took some classes at FIT, got a design internship (didn't last very long though), and had a bunch of friends doing clothing lines. By putting myself in the environment it just kinda hit me...I'm gonna do this...
What does the Fall 07 line consist of and what will the future hold?
The Fall 07 line is an introductory collection of womens tees, 4 styles with lots of bright colors and clean designs. The line is and always will be a true lifestyle brand for tastemakers. As for the future, I plan to manufacture a variety of cut and sew pieces and accessories. I want to produce all garments...socks to hats.
How did you come up with the “Afro Puff” shirt?
We have a series called "Famed Females." The Lady of Rage definitely fit into the series. Also, I've always been a fan of afro puffs.
When and where is the line available?
Yours Truly hit stores in Mid-October. So it's available now! Check out www.yourstrulybrand.com for the store list. The site isn't 100% complete, so check back for updates. We are planning to launch an online store soon too.
