Everywhere a celebrity goes these days there’s someone ready to shower them with free ish in hopes that the star will be photographed wearing their product and the brand will become an overnight sensation (remember Von Dutch trucker hats??).
And there’s no better place to find a gang of stars then at a big awards show. At this year’s BET Awards, performers, winners and presenters tore through “The Main Event Celebrity Gift Lounge” at the Shrine Auditorium and picked up a few “thank you for gracing us with your presence” gifts. I'm sure the beverage bars stocked with Evian, Moet and Hennessey didn't hurt either.
Though I didn’t make it to the gift lounge (Thanks LA traffic!) my people at Backstage Creations were kind enough to let me know what I missed.
Ne-Yo copped a Jordan Brand messenger bag which actually has authentic tooling from the Air Jordan Retro 3 shoe.
Fabolous picked up the Jawbone Bluetooth headset which uses a military-grade noise-canceling to make calls clearer.
The Cheetah Girls (BKA 2/3rds of 3LW and that other girl) grabbed some Girlie Designs tank tops.
Slick Em from Pretty Ricky loved that XM Satellite Radio. The rest of the group was unimpressed.
