As petty as it seems, I don't give a f*ck about this dude. I don't even think many people care about MIMS period. The point I'm trying to make: N*ggas need to stop frontin.
When I saw in an interview that MIMS claimed to be from around 161 & Broadway in Washington Heights (Uptown Manhattan), I immediately knew he was lying, because I have people/family there. And I used to live there myself. Nobody had ever heard of this fool.
I always knew MIMS wasn't from NYC. Even in past blogs, I would say dumb sh*t like "MIMS from Alabama," "MIMS from Kentucky," ... and even once I said "MIMS from Long Island," having no idea that he is, in fact, from Long Island. Westbury to be exact. Where the birds chirp and the flowers grow. Matter of fact, Westbury is right next door to Old Westbury where the late gangster John Gotti's daughter lives. In a wealthy area. In a big ass house with her monkey sons who are otherwise known as The Gotti Boys.
STOP FRONTIN!

Moving out of The Heights at 12... that was a long ass time ago. And I've never heard this dude tell that to anyone. He reps The Heights hard body, even claiming to be "Washington Heights-based." He claims to have had a LIFE TIME of struggle, which usually hits hardest during teenage years. Yet he spent all of his teenage life in (LOL) Westbury. Although his Myspace bio claims he had attended "various high schools throughout the New York Metropolitan area," the author didn't name ONE. Purposely. And they deliberately left out Westbury High. And yes, Long Island can be considered the "New York metropolitan area."
I have to hand it to them. Sneaky. Real sneaky.
But then again, claiming NYC didn't help this dude now did it? Nah. It didn't. So now, we can stop being embarassed by this dude trying to swagger jack the South. Because he's from Long Island! LMAO! Yes! I can breathe easy now.

What's really the difference? Long Island is considered part of the NYC metro area (several boroughs have space there).

My question is...What did Mims ever do to deserve this much hate????????? For what? It is really ridiculous to me. Okay fine, he isn't the best rapper in the world, but I certainly heard a lot worst rappers than him i.e (Soulja Boy, Gucci mane, Oj the juiceman, etc.) I don't hate on any of them, I'm just sayin that people hate on mims for no reason. Okay he is originally from Long Island, NY, but he did live in NYC for a few years too! So because you have family there and never heard of him, that means he was never there? I'm From NYC too, but because you never heard of me, that means I wasn't from there? There are 13 million people in NYC, so maybe we don't all know each other. Also, He does not come out and talk greasy about anybody, in fact he has never responded to anybody that has said negative things about him in a belligerent manner. I really think that Mims is a good dude. Why are you so mad about the song "This is why I'm hot?" Is it really his fault that it was successful? Or was it the people that liked it enough to make it their ringtone, and request it a million times on the radio and 106 and park? Think over these things man. You hate, but when you are at the club and the song comes on and the girls dance to it, I bet you dance too and hop on some ass. Real Talk!!! He does not curse so much in his records, they are fairly tasteful to where people of all ages can listen to it without covering their ears. If anything he deserves more respect for doin him and being true to himself. Fine, you may not like his music, then don't listen to it and continue to support music that you like. You have that option. Why hate on him tho and speak so ill of him. It's really unprovoked.

Yo, Sohh Reckless, I know your'e at home in your rat infested studio apt. tirelessly on your dell lookin for artists to diminish, but ask yourself these questions, what have you ever done to contribute to music or hip hop on a whole? what makes you feel that anything you say is warranted? and if so how? MIMS isn't the best rapper out, of course, but he has grinded to put himself in this position of success. So what are you? A FACELESS, nameless, effortless, and successless individual who makes small amounts of money hatin on someone elses efforts. You have that right, as do all of us, but understand, you have to actually do something with your life, this bloggin garbage has been stale and outdated. Write or produce a song, show someone the ropes in the industry, if you know anything, just be someone, because this stuff that your'e doing now is really sad and unwarranted. MIMS isn't even the issue, because he hasn't done anything wrong but grind. Grow up and live your life to better others, you only live once. Is this your legacy??

I particular don't care where Mims is from. But what didn't like is the fact that you joked about his birthplace saying "he from Alabama or KENTUCKY." You said that like thats a problem to be from either one of those places. I personally am from Kentucky and I love where I'm from and I'm not ashamed of it. Ok Long Island aint the hardest place, but Hempstead and Roosevelt just to name a few are harder then alot of places in the city, not trying to defend westbury or anything but dont try to come off and make it sound like LI so soft or anything.... because theres good parts of the city too... and I know for a fact that Hempstead and Roosevelt and Freeport go harder then a lot of the hard parts of the city....
I grew up in westbury. New Cassel to be exact, and it is a wasteland. It honestly is one of the poorest areas in the NYC metro area. Tons of gang violence, prostitution etc. People hear westbury and it sounds pretty! Old westbury is for the elite and not even close to new cassel. If youre not from LI you wouldnt understand that. Hempstead, Freeport, Roosevelt, Uniondale, Wyandanch, Central Islip, Mastic, Riverhead, Huntington Station, Amityville, etc all rival any NYC hood!
