Damn. I just asked what other label Red Cafe could sign to, after being signed to so many other labels. Well that answer came the other day when it quickly began to circulate amongst the online community that Red Cafe got signed to Bad Boy.
I would say a prayer for Red Cafe, but it seems-- according to what Diddy says-- that he's been letting people out of their contracts if things don't work out. Wow. Coming from someone who traps artists and engulfs a large percentage of everything they (manage to) do--with his permission? Guess things are finally changing.
Last week, Red Cafe's right hand DJ Envy gave the 'net a little preview of Red Cafe's remix to "Hottest in the Hood." But its arrangement has changed since then. Check it out:
-------> Red Cafe f/ Jadakiss, Rick Ross, Fabolous, OJ da Juiceman, - "Hottest in the Hood"
What happened to Juelz and Lloyd Banks? And Busta? Womp womp. Still a hot joint for the summer though.
Best move he could have made...at this point it's all or nothing.
P.S. A name change wouldn't hurt either
WTF!!! I'm shocked..Never would of thought this. I just hope Red Cafe was able to pull of a deal that he will benefit financially from and received a Milli to sign on top of that...SMDH@ folks who continue to sign w/Diddy!
i thought he was with Akon! what happened! i guess folk dont get the same memos we get about Puff!
"P.S. A name change wouldn't hurt either"
WHAT ELSE
"Red Cafe is about to be 33 years old"
WHAT ELSE
"Cafe sounds like a watered down version of Fab most of the time"
THAT ALL
"Bad Boy aint been a good look for rappers since 2000 and im only being nice cuz Shyne had a nice lil buzz"
Theres supposed to be 3 different remixes....rumor has it Reckless's favorite rapper 50 Cent is supposed to be on one prolly with Busta, Banks and Juelz
I dont know why Red Cafe would make a move like this. As we know Diddy himself is wildly successful. His artists...another story. Damn near everybody who has ever been on Bad Boy has left dead, incarcerated, or unhappy. Red has talent but he better play his cards right cause its not looking good for him now.
Cafe got $2mill from Diddy and word is you gonna see some serious marketing for Cafe 2010 style w/ Diddy's Twitter, Ciroc, Sean John, and MTV shows. All while Cafe keep puttin out videos and songs tell his album drop.
By the way- It's a collabo between Konvict & Bad Boy
who?
Career suicide. He'd better stay with Konvict. Don't fuckin trust Pee-Wee Diddy.
{{-_-}}
Yeah its A joint venture with AKON's label and Diddy.
well, he's never gonna drop an album messin' with P_$$y, opps my bad, I mean Puffy.
shouts 2 Bigup2BK, The Layer, React
PEACE!!!!
I'm sure most of us are familiar with the "Puffy Is Poison" videos on YouTube by what's-his-face. I'm drawing a blank at the moment. Anyway, most artists that sign to Bad Boy really never had a buzz prior, you know? Cafe has had a buzz since NBA Live 2004 w/ Virus. He's been around for quite some time, Paper Touching had him buzzing, Dollar Bill, etc. Bad Boy will just be another step for him. I pray to God it isn't his last. I agree, I would rather him stay with Konvict than sign to bitch ass Bad Boy, but I don't think it puts his career at threat as much as it did to other artists, being that Bad Boy had been those artists primary record label, whereas Red just signed to them after being popular for a few years.
I cant believe this one.. Diddy is not a person you want to sign to.. I just read "Dancing With The Devil".. Diddy's former artist wrote a book about Diddy that is taking the industry by storm.. Red should of read the book before he signed.. go to www.markcurrybook.com and read the first chapter.. see what im talking about.. Poor Red Cafe.. this could be the worse move of his career
Wendy Williams calls it "Book Crack".. The book that has the industry talking... "Dancing With The Devil", How Puff Burned The Bad Boy's of Hip-Hop. Former Bad Boy recording artist released a book that tells the shadiness of the Industry. Catch him in this months King and Source Magazine. Log onto the website now and read the first chapter free. www.markcurrybook.com. Dancing With The Devil is a must read!!!
