Ready to give his worldwide following what they've been waiting for, the Wu-Tang Clan's rhyme slinger extraordinaire Raekwon is set to return this summer with Only Built 4 Cuban Linx 2.
Raekwon, whose 1995 platinum classic Only Built 4 Cuban Linx was universally hailed as a rap classic and has sold more than 1.1 million units in the US, has signed a distribution deal with EMI Label Services for his ICEH20 Records label to release Only Built 4 Cuban Linx 2 in the US and Canada later this summer. EMI Label Services will also provide Raekwon with additional radio promotion support and licensing and synchronization services.
"The wait is finally over," Raekwon says. "Words cannot describe how extremely happy I am to work with EMI Music to put out my album."
Only Built 4 Cuban Linx 2 buzz single and video "The New Wu" features fellow Wu-Tang Clan members Method Man and Ghostface Killah and is getting mixshow airplay at radio stations across the country, including Hot 97 in New York. The album features a spectacular line-up of guest appearances and producers: The RZA, Dr. Dre, J Dilla, The Wu-Tang Clan, Jadakiss, Busta Rhymes, Bun B and The Game, among others.
"We are thrilled to have a chance to work with the legendary Raekwon," said Dominic Pandiscia, Senior Vice President and General Manager, EMI Label Services. "He has had a massive impact on the history of Hip Hop and Urban music overall. Everyone at EMI is excited to be working on this record and continuing his legacy."
Now, with the impending release of Only Built 4 Cuban Linx 2, Raekwon is ready to release his second masterpiece.
"It's been a long time coming," he says, "and I've put my blood, sweat and tears into making this classic album for my fans.""The New Wu" aka "Wu OHH" featuring Method Man and Ghostface Killah
I say, If Ray FINALLY said that "The Wait Is Over" then that's what it is!! Homie has been gone to damn long so I would still need to hear a few tracks.

Yeah this is a nice beat, I feel it, but compared to what the "masses" want they don't like complex lyrics they have to think about either), it will be ignored. But I'll cop it anyhoo.
Who cares? It's too damn later Rae. It's like all these people waiting for 45yr old Dr. Dre to drop Detox. If some of you were too young to catch these dudes in their prime don't try to make up for it by getting excited about their new projects. It's not the same and you'll have to deal with music from YOUR era like "Stanky Leg" LOL! I'm so tired of young fans trying to act like experts when they're era produced the worst hip hop ever.
I second Nimrod...tooooo late to be calling this part 2. I mean if he takes his audience from 1 into the last 13-16 yrs since the purple tape was released, and is enlightening the audience on how he grew from that time...a family, more kids, stint at acting, wu fell off, how the "industry" pushes buffoonery and he sparked confusion w/ part 5% more part 85%, and his skills and beat selection is on point, THEN mayb coming from his heart he'll get the attention and respect he craves...coming from my first too listens of that above track... that ain't happenin.
I'll wait around for Rae, I'm always interested in hearing what Shallah Raekwon has to offer. Unfortunately, the majority of rap fans now never grew up in the environment that Rae grew up in to full understand and grasp what Rae is delivering. So in other words, the minute Rae drops his follow up to his timeless Classic, everyone is going to listen to his music with the intent to hate it. It seems like SOHH.com hates every Hip Hop artist outside of TI and Jay Z. So whats the point of signing a record deal when it is promoted to hate the rapper in the first place. I just wish Reckless takes the same energy he uses to discredit our rappers and analyze what Hip Hop means to him. I don't read Sister to Sister Magazine and never did, But SOHH sems to have become the Sister to Sister of Online Media promotiong Day 26 over rejoicing a Raekwon comeback. Since we all turn to record executives on Wednesday due to EVERY RAP FAN TALKING ABOUT SALES, then we should allready know why Raekwon has trouble releasing his album or why it has been delayed, and blame the companies for not picking up his records verses blaming HIM for not releasing, remember when the RECORD DROPS WE GONNA TALK ABOUT SALES, so WHY STOP THEIR, lets talk Mechanicals, percentages, points, 360 deals, video budgets, funds recoupable, tour support, merchandising clauses. Why just HATE AN ARTIST FOR LOW SALES, lets hate an artist cause you don't understand the MECHANICAL PUBLISHING CLAUSE IN HIS CONTRACT TOO!!!!We are Not Music Fans any more, we're fans/music executives that has other things to worry about except quality RHYTHMS. Let's also Hate an artist based on whose their ENTERTAINMENT LAWYER, until then Rae, since ONLY BUILT FOR CUBAN LINKS STILL SOUNDS BETTER than ANYTHING DAY 26 comes up with in 2012 then guess what I'm Rocking, CAN IT ALL BE SO SIMPLE..
