That's a real good look..Glad to see that most of the Wu in that video..Honestly the song is hot but not blazin....The production was simply smooth, nothing spectacular, but classic RZA...I hope Ray's album will be tight work!

Classic instantly, if the rest of the album can be just like this. It' is over, they gained me back, musically, not idealogically ;)

But man this is a Blazin Track in my opinion, that classic hypnotizing melody laced ever so carefully and layered w/ (i think) is a thumpin' beat (i'm listening to my phone headset earphones at work, each time i've heard this track, and the quality is only around 8,000khz stereo which, once i can bump it in my ride, may bring a diff feel from the real sound it is meant to have.)

But I'm loving this so far, growing on me just like most of the other "1997 and prior" joints.

The Wu hasn't made good music since the 90's. Could the reason be they're in their 40's? They can still flow but they don't sell. I know a handful of people are stuck in adolescence and think the rest of us are too but that's not the case. The Wu was one of the greatest rap groups of all time but where's the growth?! That's the problem with rap. The artists more often than not fail to demonstrate GROWTH. I'm no Kanye fan but you can see his growth as an artist. The reason why Madonna is still relevant is because her music EVOLVED and remained fresh to the people who check for her. She's no one trick pony and neither are any of the acts that have STAYING power. How many times can you talk about the projects? The struggle? Poverty? Racism?!! The problem with old rappers are they are creatively STAGNANT.

They're so busy perpetuating juvenile antics as a means of tricking the youth into identifying with them that they lose sight of how to make quality product. No matter how rich they get they're forever on the "block." *yawn*

This isn't just in rap. This is across the board. Why isn't Janet Jackson a force anymore? Because she's STUCK back in Control. Her old azz wanna be dancing around but Britney first and then Ciara came and took that spot. She was supposed to move on but she didn't know how. Everything gets old so you have to constantly WORK at staying fresh. Those who are lazy can't be made a priority or they'll just clog the lane. There are NEW artists trying to break through. Why discourage them by asking for the same old BS over and over. What happened to change? LOL!

And for those who say "We" have to take "Control" of "Our" craft I'll say this; When did "we" ever have control of ANYTHING much less rap in America or the modern world? Are you that Naive? Delusional? Dumb? Or all of the above?!

Last year I predicted Obama would win when people were skeptical because I said he was more or less a tool of some powerful people who I named. Of course 1 or 2 morons with limited comprehension accused me of being some kind of sell out. Now after the fact KRS and Professor Griff and others are saying the same things I guess it's finally sinking in with people who only get things AFTER the fact. Stay slow and stay wondering what happened.

For me this song is like picking right up in 1996?way too late for today?but as an adult I can spare a few minutes a week to delve into an old pass time. Do you ever watch a movie you have seen before because you liked the story etc? Kinda like how parents have keepsakes of kids school or art work. I LOVE old school rap! I don't LISTEN to any of the new stuff. Not even new stuff from OLD artists so I can definitely identify with the desire to reminisce for sure.

New music from old acts just don't do it. From a business standpoint I think labels investing all their money in rappers who are no longer musically relevant despite having overall popularity comes at a high price for the advancement of the genre. It's not just thier age alone but their unwillingness to EVOLVE.

Whatever happened to passing the torch and becoming a reverred elder? I'm not calling for retirement but you can't hold back progress and expect to last.
