Big-Big Up to You Reckless for posting this. I guess I have several thoughts concerning this. Let me start by citing something that I read years ago about the Honorable Elijah Muhammad and Malcolm X situation. I read that towards the end of their union that the Honorable Elijah Muhammad became very upset about Malcolm X's constant criticism of President Kennedy, particularly after Kennedy's death. President Kennedy was so popular among Black people that to kick him immediately after his death Elijah thought that was unwise for many reasons. I actually agree with him.

Now, let's face it, KRS 1 no longer has a voice. we sort of say that he does, but we really no that he doesn't, and we are being kind to a hip hop legend when we say that he does. Have these cats who sign on here couldn't give two F8cks about what Chris has to say and that is sad. Now I am not dissing him because i am a huge fan, but let's be real, he doesn't have a voice anymore. He doesn't have a platform that a 50 or Hov or Lil Wayne has, so beyond folks going to this blog and Nahright and the 150 people or so at the spot he was at, no one will hear his message. The other thing is that the mind of the people are so dull, that they want listen anyway even if he had an audience. They are more interested in what Rick Ross' broke @ss uneducated ex tack head have to say about the foolishness concerning him and 50, than they do in what I think is a very important discussion that KRS 1 would like to bring to the forefront.

Now, I hate to say it, but some of Chris' comments seemed a little self-serving. To the unconscious mind (if you can even get the unconscious mind to listen to KRS 1 ) what he said sounded deep. To the conscious mind, we are saying, "ok Chris, No Sh*t." You didn't tell us anything that a person who just read the most bacic book on Black political consciousness for his very first time could not figure out. In fact, to us, it looks like you are trying to generate interest in yourself for some other reason and that you are using this Barak Black face New World thing as the vehicle to do so. I am just being real with you, B.

What the wise warriors are doing with respect to the president is that they are not interfering with Black folks' Barak Obama euphoria. I think that that is wise. I say to Chris if he is reading this, remember the Nation of Islam's lesson entitled truth out of season. You can tell someone the truth but if you tell them the truth at the wrong time, they may actually view you as an enemy and not a friend.

You know that it is unrealistic to think that any man or woman, Black or white, could take this government in a far left socialist direction. You also understand how the branches of governmental power works, as well. Further, your analogy about Black political leaders being elected because of a mess has ensued is partially true but if this was a research study, i would say to you that you are trying to apply qualitative findings to a quantitative null hypothesis. You can't take what appears to be qualitatively true, which in your case here I don't even think you cleared that standard, I think you have something that is antidotely true, but that is beside the point. The point is that you can't take a small sample of anything and take those findings and apply it and make general comments about your misapplication to the whole. That is an intellectually corrupt proposition.

You are totally ignoring population shifts, the fast coloring of America, 8 years of one party rule, which is normally a sign of a party change and the huge Black turn out in the presidential election. Anyway, why I agree with your over assessment (although I think you could have made better connections in terms of some of the things you threw out), I think you need to be careful how you package this. I mean to hit the brother after only two weeks in office is not wise. If you are a teacher, and you are, then be patient with the students so that students don't lose confidence in your ability to teach them.

Very true and wise. Never trust any politician, yet at the same time folks like me are compelled to speak out PARTICULARLY about Obama because:

(a) An undeniable cult of personality has been built up around him by his PR machine and folks are starry-eyed and emotional about him in a way I haven't seen in politics in my lifetime (though history is replete with other examples that did not turn out well at all) Emotions and politics do not mix!

(b) He's the iron hand in the velvet glove, the Trojan Horse, the black-faced Al Jolson of politics pushing not his agenda, not change that will benefit the people, but that of those who control and finance him. Bush, Cheney et al needed no shouting out...they were OVERTLY in our faces with their brand of wickedness. I spent time and money working with organizations to get them impeached (btw...do you think Obama will bring the Bush criminals to justice as he can and should?). The Black face and smooth taste of Obama is soothing to GOP-weary Americans. Soothing us right back to sleep while the "war" on terror continues (wait...didn't Obama take an 'anti war' stance early in his campaign? already that has insidiously CHANGED to the same ol' same ol' - just look at the January 19th issue of Newsweek...it's *chilling*) Bottom line is Obama will get away with far more than even Bush & Co. could because he holds the people's trust in the palm of his hand. If Bush was calling for "Universal Compulsory Service" (GOOGLE IT) folks would be up in arms! But we'll gladly press our children into Obama's draft, I mean, "service".

I feel you on one hand...sh*t is so fuct up right now it's easy to throw up your hands and not want to deal. But it's like a woman finding a lump in her breast and feeling disturbed about it, but not disturbed enough to do anything about it until it resurfaces months/years later in a fashion too big and ugly to ignore (and by then too late to address properly). I don't pretend to have the answers...we are living in unprecedented times, but I know going along with the status quo is not the move. We as a nation needed to rise up a long time ago and reject corrupt government. I'm not advocating violence, but by using every legal means to fight corruption...to MAKE them adhere to the constitution (which is now tattered and get ready to say goodbye to the 2nd amendment under O). The government is here to serve US, not the other way around. When the government begins to fear the people, when they see we are not chumps that will go along with anything they say or do, when they understand that they are accountable to us that is when real change will occur. Right now they are accountable only to those that put them in office (and if you think it's us with our 'votes' you are sadly mistaken). Money and Power are the tools that make Presidents and other politicians, but it is the people (human RESOURCES) that they will be nothing without. We have way more power (collectively) than we give ourselves credit for. Problem is, of course, disunity on every front (class, race, etc). As long as they can keep us at each other's throats we will continue to be their slaves.

One last point I wanted to make was if KRS was trying to boost his career why would he criticize the most admired man on the planet??? Why would he go on Alex Jones' show and drop truth bombs about politics? If anything this will probably kill whatever sliver of a career he has left. Politically Incorrect is right...though the world is looking for a political solution to our problems and sees Obama as something of a 'messiah' it will ultimately boil down to a SPIRITUAL battle. Everything that exists in our material world has its origins in the spiritual realms (science is even coming to recognize this via quantum physics) and any 'salvation' will come from there too.

That said, I do not personally subscribe to any particular religion (though in my lifetime I've been initiated into two), yet religion is not needed to evolve spiritually. In fact, it may be a hindrance (root meaning of the word religion is "return to bondage"). The Bible is of benefit to the extent that it does contain some spiritual truths, but honestly my gut instinct is telling me that on some level it's been tampered with and I know for certain that it has been used against the mass of humanity to keep us subservient to the powers-that-be who actually USE the Bible as their own personal 'playbook' of sorts (and as a side note FEMA speaks with pastors and tells them how to counsel their flock - http://www.baptistboard.com/showthread.php?t=9990 ). You can pretty much see that they are prepping for 'armaggedon' scene {sigh}.

I agree with Ziggy Marley..."LOVE" is my religion. I agree with the counsel from the Christ archetype: "Love your neighbor as yourself" (in reality we all are ONE anyway) and "Love God with your whole heart, soul & mind". If you follow only those 2 admonitions you're leaps and bounds ahead of the game and will reap rich spiritual fruits. AND, no Obamassiah needed :)

But if the Book claims Divine orgin, that All powerful Divinity can make sure it is NOT tampered beyond recognition.And that what we need is there. To go along with spiritual principal, you have to "search" and eventually "choose",,,,the guide. At the end of the day it's a choice of direction of energy with your time. I don't think I'm 'copping out' though considering I've read the Bible from cover-to-cover, have studied it extensively over many years and even do cross-reference style study in comparing it with other holy books and near-eastern texts. My views are not snap decisions made hastily. Much of what is contained in it appears in earlier texts. And the statement that it's from God because it says it's from God is as circular as an argument can get! I am not throwing the proverbial baby out with the bathwater, but again, between my studies and my intuitive spiritual sense, I can't co-sign it 100% but do not knock those who do. I also believe we all have the god-seed in us and the priestly class/religions/etc. are there to do the 'work' for those who don't want to attend to their own spirituality. If one has 'good' shepherds, you're straight (just as if we had 'good' politicians we could put our full trust in them and not do any 'homework') but in today's world goodness is a rarity.

Again, I respect the Bible in that it does contain some spiritual truths, but it has been 'jacked' as well. Are scriptures that condone genocide, slavery and denigration of women the word of god? And your argument that it has stood the test of time can also be applied to the Vedas or the Egyptian Book of the Dead. You may say those books are irrelevant from your point-of-view, but there are millions of equally 'faithful' who consult these for spiritual counsel. Bottom line is no single religious ideology or philosophy can cover 'everything' or has all the 'answers'. As 'absolute' as you are in your beLIEfs, there is someone on the other side of the globe (or even right next door!) who is equally sure they they have the 'truth'. What makes your subjective experiences more 'true' than theirs?

Spiritually I take a multidisciplinary approach which even includes occult subjects (*gasp*). Occult simply means 'hidden' by the way. And if your Bible condemns it you ought to ask yourself why. The powers-that-be avail themselves of hidden knowledge and strive to keep the common people in the *dark*. One good way to ensure they stay in darkness is to demonize such things or maybe forbid them in the Bible :) Because I approach esoteric knowledge with respect, I have not been assaulted or harassed by spirits or boogeymen, but rather have gained even greater insight into the nature of our world and reality itself.

And it would take regular study to get to conclusions on the issues you raised. I feel you on " a whole universe of knowledge and wisdom out there". But There is really nothing new. Upon investigation you will find that the Bible ended up consolidating all of the metaphysical knowledge that one will ever need. Chpts 5-7 of Matthew.. the Sermon on the Mount. Other "holy books" from other cultures and some new age material , just makes it sound more "mystical" or something . As if it is "new". Truth is truth. But it is even better when you know exactly what is going on and can see into the future, which the prophecies of the Bible allows one to do. You can "plan".
