Josh, I am not a wayne fan - he is ok. I just hate 50 because he is a shameless Uncle Tom. Anyway, putting those facts aside, why should Wayne, who has sold 3 million records in the US and counting, address a musical has been like fif. 50's last effort (G-UNIT's TOS) sold 230,000. With that said since your taking it to record sales yeah Lil Wayne is at about 3 million records and that's good but 50's first album sold more then Waynes whole career put together right? Moving on if you add up 50's career sales and compare it to Waynes sales the percentage is not gonna be high. Okay and this is Waynes first album that got a real good response, Tha Carter II debuted at 238,000 (it still went Platinum), 50's last solo album debuted at 691,000. That being said yeah T.O.S. did about 200,000 but that was gunit not fif's solo the previous one sold 2.7 million, and who has Wayne put on that is able to sell or have sold records? Let's see him make an album with Jae Mills and Nikki Minaj and whoever else is over there and see how it sells. People are gassed about Lil Waynes 1 million in a week, 50 did it first. If you really wanna take it to numbers 50 wins that. Moving on the main thing I was talking about at first was Waynes inability to beat 50 in a battle he has no credibility who has he beaten, his lyrical content is so watered down and commercialized now it's ridiculous. I think that you and I fundamentally agree on many things. That is the good news.

However, you know as well as i do, that it is all about the here and now. Now let me confess, I think that numbers and units sold are bullsh*t, anyway. I used to argue with G-Unit h o m o s about that when 50 was making hits 5 years ago. They would argue that 50 was a better MC than a cat like NAs or Jadakiss, because he sells more records. It was stupid as hell, so I with you on the #'s thing. However, this is how 50 measures his success. he doesn't measure success by the quality of a joint. He measures by the numbers ge produces.

So given that, to date, using today's record climate, wayne is mirking that dude. 50 is riding on his pass glory. Do me a favor, exclude GRODT, and put together a 50's greatest hits joint. His current singles can't even break the top 75, not top 50, sun - I am saying the top 75. Cleary Wayne is killing that dude in the music retail industry. BISD will do 350, if he is lucky. It will go gold and possibly plat, but barely.

And if anything 50 profited form Kanye and not the other way around. After that hype was over it, Curtis died on a vine. Kanye went on, selling. Curtis was awful. The more people heard it, the more they hated it.

And anyone who knows me knows that I like maybe 5 southern artists, at best. I just don't like that kind of music. However, I like that joint by Rick Ross and John Legend waaaay more than 50's get up and get it in. If you are honest, you have to admit that 50's singles are garbage.

So, all the other points you made we strongly agree, but in terms of Wayne's ability to sell and make hits and 50 ability to sell and make hit, in 2009, not 2003, it is not even close. Wayne is a far superior draw. 50 has shown no growth as an artist. So again, why would you waste your time on a musical has been, like 50 if you were Wayne.

The public is losing interst in 50. How can you have a joint coming out and because your music can't create any buzz, you have to resort to becoming and e-thug to be noticed. I see 50 still gets the posts up. Only now that means more than 10 instead of more than 200 like last year this time. Same old arguments. The entire genre has been a minstrel show once gangsta rap dominated. Every artist who ever promoted gangsterism as black culture did the entire race a disservice. It is also hard for me to pose any counter arguments to the ones you made about Wayne. Whatever cats gain this great commerical success is usally given way too much praise. I think I told you before I kicked it with 50. Well I ran into him not too long ago and had a one on one convo. He even dismissed his bodyguard while we were talking. My read on him is he has created a personna that now has him trapped. Like many who came before him he has lost himself on the road to riches. He is a product of his environment. Pac's blueprint of using drama to market music opened Pandora's box. I don't disagree with your conclusions but I prefer to attack the sickness rather than the symptoms.

We encourage this negative behavior through our self-hatred. We celebrate when we hear about celebs losing their homes or going to prison or losing a record deal or going wood. The way we revel in the misfortune of others you'd think it benefitted us somehow. Wendy Williams, Star & Buck Wild, Mediatakeout all know the quickest way to material gain is to tear another black person down. Even KRS came on the scene using that route.
