So, the boy Mos is back with a fresh new single and an album on the way.

Well, the upcoming album, The Ecstatic, is not exactly new news. It was first slated for an exclusive iTunes release on Election Day, but is now going to be released some time in the near future -- hopefully via jewel case so people like me can actually buy it. The song they're using to up the buzz for the album is "Quiet Dog"... at least via the internet. I don't know about anywhere else.

Via SOHH:

"The name of the album is The Ecstatic," Mos told Zune Insider. "I titled it after one of my favorite novels by Victor LaValle and I'm really excited about it -- it's a lot shorter than some of my previous work but it's still really full. [Guests include] Slick Rick, Jay Electronica, Black Thought and working with Madlib."

"For 2009, I got a couple of different projects on deck. Definitely looking forward to bringing 'Def Poetry' back to television for at least one more season. I'd like to do it in New Orleans in the ninth ward."

Mos, Mos, Mos. You'll always be one of Brooklyn's finest, but you aint been the same since Black on Both Sides. And that was 1999. It's now 2009. And one year away from the Y2K 10-year anniversary. That was a long time ago. Speaking of Black on Both Sides, anyone care for that Mickey Factz "Live from the Black Apple"? {Listen here}

Son... where did he get this sample from? How left field is this. It's different. But hey... Bronx stand up. I guess.

So, Mos. No word about iTunes this time. Did you think it over? Like I said before, artists are putting themselves in a box with releasing their albums ONLY through the internet. But hey-- it's your career. Do what you want with it. Good luck on this go-round.
