Joe Budden said it, and I Agree: "F*CK New York"!!!!

Real talk. I agree with everything Joe Budden said the below video. Well, some of it.
New York has rappers trying their best to rep their city and stay original, and all cats can do is stand around in the crowd and try to look too cool to support. This is the thanks NY cats get for not trying to be like MIMS. And that's f*cked up. But you also have to look at the fact that Red Cafe and Ron Browz haven't really infiltrated the rap scene on a large enough scale for a lot of these dudes to know who they are. Not every hood cat in New York City stays on the internet 24-7. Red Cafe hasn't come with a real hit, and Ron Browz is still known for producing-- if his name rings a bell at all. Maino, on the other hand, is a different story. He garnered some national buzz with "Hi Hater," but then he fell off the map. You expect cats to wave their hands to a song that's been old since the summer time? Not really.
However, unlike Joe, I wouldn't take it as far as naming the lack of musical support in New York as one of the reasons I'd be repping Jersey and not the city I was born in. No way. Nothing can make me claim anything else other than the borough of where rap started at, no matter how corny the rap scene is.
Also, I can't agree with Joe saying that when cats like Young Joc and those other cornball Southern rappers get on stage, dudes get hyped. Southern rappers don't even bother booking shows in New York. Why? Cause nobody gives a f*ck.
When's the last time some Southern act has come up here? I don't know. Why? Cause I don't give a two sh*ts. Neither does anyone else that I know. Maybe the young cats do. But they're irrelevant.
If you ask me, Maino needs to make another hit. He can't expect to pull a MIMS move and keep the same buzz going with one song. It doesn't work that way.
Joe, you can't compare these local rappers with dudes like Kanye or Lil Wayne. Get real. Other than that, I agree: F*ck New York. And I'm not talking about the audience. I'm talking about these five borough rap acts. You NY rappers are boring, wack, corny. We need a new Red Alert to hop on Hot 97. Not one of you have been consistent, you're lazy, some of you are bandwagon d*ckriders like Fat Joanna, and you're not doing sh*t but whining and complaining. If Kanye can sell a decent amount of records, there's no excuse. And on top of that, the only work I see being put in is internet marketing. And that sh*t doesn't work. You need to leave this Myspace and email blast sh*t alone. Last time I checked, Myspace doesn't translate into CD sales, no matter how many page hits you get.
That's my take.
Early.
Joe Budden is cool, has some valid points, but he's not right. Flat out. New York is a tough place, and it's tougher on it's own residents. It's just something to get used to. I haven't sold a bunch of records, but somethings you just know by being a resident.
And whoever this journalist just needed to write something that would generate a lot of clicks on his article.
Whatever...

This nigga ain't a journalist, he's a hater. 50 Cent is the biggest thing to come out of NY and all thisnigga does is hate and not support him, but 5 years ago he was all on his dick!
F--- New York rappers.....
i respect ny rap and audiences, but that "i from ny the birthplace of hip-hop, we better than ya"mentality is house niggerish, thats interracism!!!we know it birth hip-hop,but its roots are from damn near all coast, dont believe me,look up some sample credits and listens to some older genres.plus ya got most of the majors in yall back yard or next door, thats a one up!
F*ck Joe Budden! He's from Jersey so his opinion don't count. I'm tired of dudes that ain't really from THE CITY actin like they are. You gotta understand it's a different kind of crowd that comes out to see Kanye, Wayne, and other outta state dudes. Red Cafe, Joe Budden, and Maino or going to bring out a more underground "thug" type crowd and they just don't get down like it. None of the dudes he mentioned are really poppin' like that so you ain't gonna get that type of response. These are dudes that ain't really on any map. They minor leaguers. We treat our rappers like we treat our sports team..you not performing up to par you gonna hear it. If you can't take it....MOVE! There's no charity cheers it's all about Performance.
The 90's era was a special era for Hip-Hop and had some true legends come from it. That time is gone and will be hard to duplicate..
The truth is the problem with the NY hip hop scene is it has no unity. Everyone is a hater. While TI, Luda and Jeezy are preparing to go on tour together - Jim Jones is talking about how ugly Jay Z is and 50 Cent is talking about how nobody cares about Nas. Dipset is the last major underground movement from NY and now they can't even get along with each other (Jim vs. Cam, Jim vs. Max B, Jim vs. Hell Rell, etc.) It's crazy!!! If cats could put down their crab in the barrel mentality, they could get money together. But I won't hold my breath.
I couldn't agree more with HIPHOPISALIVE. You look around in the hip hop industry & everywhere else except NYC rappers are getting together to make good decent music. Up in the northeast it's all about everyone for themselves or how much money the next rapper has or some he said she said beef. The song with Joe Budden, Joell Ortiz, Royce 5'9" & Crooked I called Slaughterhouse, now that's a hard song. But no, no NYC rappers get along enough to get together in the same studio to make music. Wake up NYC!!! Don't get mad for the south making snap music because you're not doing anything about it!!! And I'm from NY.
HIP HOP is a NY CULTURE so HOW you gonna be in Hip Hop and Not be NY. Hip Hop wasn't made in the South. The South had to wait for their cousins from NY to come down so they can BORROW CLOTHES, TAPES, POSTERS, ETC. SO how you gonna say F*** NY and rep Hip Hop.. THats like a Muslim DISSIN Mecca. or a Jew dissin Israel. Now Joe Budden's Point of View is FROM a Hip Hop perspective not a UNKNOWN SOHH.com perspective. When SOHH.com says F*** New York, this website is coming from a Haters perspective. Cause if THIS SITE WAS HIP HOP then SOHH.com would know that there is not ONE SOuthern Rapper that hasn't gotten there style from a THREE NY rappers Past or Present. But SOHH is Not a Hip Hop SIte, its a Hater Site, so I don't expect anyone on this site to understand. Joe Budden's saying F**** New York he is talking about the SCENE and the fans. SOHH.com saying F*** New York so the followers can have a disrespect for a city and wipe away its history and contribution to the culture. SOHH is the NEW SOURCE MAGAZINE.
GYANT GOT A YEAST INFECTION and an AUTOGRAPHED VANILLA ICE ALBUM!
why is it that only the ny dudes (not women) hating on the south. dudes mentality is not on things like what the north been on. what ever the women like then that is what popping. you north dudes had your turn, now it is time for the south to represent. just sit back and enjoy. last but not least if you think you can do better and get that paper ( like the south is doing) then by all means..............
