This unreleased joint from Lauryn Hill has all the characteristics of a song thrown in the storage room: boring, monotone, and should feature J. Holiday-- 'cause it can easily put you to bed.

-------> Lauryn Hill- The World is a Hustle

The sound quality on this joint is low, so turn your volume up.

Not too many people talking about this song. Why? Because... well nobody really cares.

Remember Lauryn Hill alongside Lil Wayne's ma dukes Whoopie Goldberg in "Sister Act"? The explosion of the Fugees? Lauryn Hill as an impressive solo act? After experiencing so much success, Lauryn seemed to have been brought to her knees. It's been over a decade since The Fugees dropped what became the multi platinum The Score. Back in '05 they made an attempt to pull together and make it work, but it didn't work. And it wont. The released joint, "Take It Easy," didn't do a thing.

"We went in the studio and recorded a couple records that were incredible. But, to put it nicely, it's dead," Pras told Billboard.com back in July of '07. "Me and Clef, we on the same page, but Lauryn [Hill] is in her zone, and I'm fed up with that sh*t. Here she is, blessed with a gift, with the opportunity to rock and give and she's running on some bullsh*t? I'm a fan of Lauryn's but I can't respect that."

"When we was working on the album, I was like, [to Lauryn], 'You need to do this like this,"  Wyclef told (the now folded) Scratch Magazine back in July of last year. "[And] she says, 'How do you know what's relevant? I haven't heard anything from you in the past like three, four years?' ... Lauryn is straight up the problem, bro."

There you have it.

After looking like a cooning clown lunatic on stage during a performance in Brooklyn last year, it became widely accepted that Lauryn had kind of lost her mind and probably wasn't getting it back any time soon.

Once she remembers that she does it because it makes her happy, she'll do it again. I think she just needs time to herself. When you're like Lauryn, time could be another 15 years. We're waiting on a hip-hop album and she will probably come back doing something with an acoustic guitar or piano.

She isn't crazy, she's just spiritually repressed.

I actually like the track.

It's hard living your life in the public eye. Who really knows what she is going through. Yes she is blessed with an awesome gift, but with greatness comes great responsibility. What gets us is how we handle the responsibility.

I know several singers with better vocals and giftings than most famous singers, but have the same struggle. An awesome gift can be a gift or/and a curse if not managed properly.

I pray and hope she can find some direction and get her life back on track

Unfortunately I am agreeing with you on this one. I loved sis' music but at this time I don't think she'll back in the same way we knew her when she was on top of her game. I personally lean torwards thinking that she will not be back at all in any manner even close. It's a shame because I was truly inspired by her musical ministry and the world lost a real jewel and a real talent. I don't even think about the music anymore when it comes to her. I just want her to get back in her right mind so she can just function as a normal human being and continue to progress and prosper in life. - Haasim, The Black Art Depot (www.blackartdepot.com)
