I'm tired of this sh*t. Not that Memphis Bleek was ever relevant after the release of his debut album anyways. But this folly-foolishness reiterates the common belief that Bleek will never be anything more than Hov's behind-closed-doors.
Sounds wack. Sounds desperate. Sounds like... the South. This biting madness is getting ridiculous. But I can't get on Memph for trying to pull a Fat Joanna move; for Memph's 2003 album M.A.D.E, he pulled this hop-on-the-South's-nuts move, releasing the T.I and Trick Daddy featured "Round Here" as the first single. Which sounded VERY South-ish. And, might I add, the South wasn't even acknowledged as a major figure in rap then. Those were the days.
On that note, why these not-relevant rappers keep trying to bite the South's swag to get a little attention is beyond me; with the exception of an artist or two, that whole Southern Hip-Hop explosion is LONG GONE (thankfully). But when that left, they took the (battered) existence of rap with them completely. Now, the only traces left of the genre are the recycled lyricists that sit around on their careless labels and look pitiful.
Some words of advice for Memph: Just give up.
Who approved this mess? And where's the creativity? What kind of a record is this coming from a cat from out of Brooklyn?
SMH.
On the flip, shout out to Hot 97 for playing that D-Block "It's Like That." I didn't realize how good it sounded until I heard it banging through the speakers. That's the kind of music I can co-sign.
Run that back:
60,000 downloads. Not bad.
Memph, take notes. You can't sell a record to save your life. So at least put out some honorable music. Or just stop rapping completely. We won't miss you. Really. We wont.

The South wasnt a major figure til 2003, Nigga What!!!! Soul Rebel, what ever you are smoking, u need to pass that sh*t cause i wanna get that high too n*gga!!! The south been running sh*t since 03. I agree with the Southern explosion being being long gone, but the South been running sh*t since 02 really. If we weren't then who was running it then. Damn sure wasnt the East Coast. And I dont classify Nelly and J(I fell the fuk off) Kwon don't classify as the Midwest. South been running this since 02 really n*gga Eat a d*ck.
The South Sucks and so does Memphis Bleek - He always has and always will, it's all you can say...
As for that D-Block track...with production from Pete Rock(aka Mr Underated) you cant go wrong...Jada and em' brought it too though. Pete Rock came right again, but come on broseph, he couldn't find another track to sample other then Nautilus!? Come on Petey dont get lazy...This and that JimJones track are certified iLL though. Props

only thing outta the south getting play was ludacris and lil flip

and you dont consider him midwest.
lol
lol at bleek thats all i can say its safe to say j will have the hardest track on his cd i.e dear summer
all this negative talk about the south from the north makes the north look really pitiful...it might carry more merit if ya'll were still in the game. Besides Jay who else do ya'll have. T.I., Wayne, Luda, Jeezy, Bun B, the miami movement, the young dudes from till ent in louisiana, and our underground is crushing.
damn yall nyggas are just some straight up haters. every last one of yall. first i gotta say. that bleek track aint actually that bad. the beat is straight. lyrics ight. definitely not a hit. but who's to say he was going to release that. as a song to the public? maybe it was leaked. cant fault the nygga for trying. and shit. that song is hotter than half of the bullshyt floating around the south right now. if you wanna be honest. but real talk the south. well nah let me say. atlanta G.A has been doing they thing for a few years. the whole south cant take credit for that. i doubt nyggas were checking for nyggas in charleston south carolina. and sh*t. lol. atlanta had it locked. memphis had T.N on the map because of eight ball and mjg. and the 3 six movement. new orleans had sh*t popping for a minute. but dont get shit confused its a difference in being here and gone tomorrow and being a long remembered name in the game. talk sh*t if you want. but 95 percent of east coast rappers. yall nyggas still remember and can quote lyrics from. nas, jay, wutang redman g-unit.dmx swizz beatz and the lox nyggas will always remember artist like that. plies. soulja boy. v.i.c. gucci mane- by 2010 yall nyggas wont slightly remember shit from them. i hate when nyggas play the east coast when. the main staples in the east coast rap scene are still buzzing in your fucking ear. and still being consistent and still putting out decent music. see yall nyggas listen to what people tell you is hot. so if they play crank that soulja a million times you start liking that sh*t. but on the low you still be downloading the newest lox. copping that new pappoose, bumping 50- quoting Jay. yall haters kill me. with that sh*t. i like hiphop as a whole. and im a be the first to say. i dont like everything lil wayne puts out. the carter 3 wasnt as hot as yall d*ck riders claim it to be.it was a decent album. but personally and honestly i dont feel it was better kayne west the graduation or jay z american gangster or lupe fiasco the cool or bun b II trill-now i like the south. some of it. and if you wanna be real the hottest nyggas in the south. is T.I- ludacris, scarface, outkast and jeezy yeah i left wayne out because. because i aint a d*ck rider like yall. and to be honest the last completely hot album or albums the nygga put out was the carter 1 and the block is hot. and the carter 2 was decent. but the carter 3 was boring as hell.
but real talk. yall nyggas give me 5 south artist with 5 classic albums. and i gurantee you ill match that with east coast artist and ill leave jay and big off the list
Correction, it's not the North, or a bunch of negative talk from the North. It's one person's opinion from the North. Just because one person or a few people have these opinions, don't mean the entire city/coast feels that way. It's not every rapper or journalist, or blogger up North.
I will say one thing. The South can't get mad for the criticism they receive though. Look at who you choose to support and represent you, in the mainstream NOW. Yeah, there's wack rappers on every coast. But, at least people know there's talented rappers that have been supported and reprsented. People are saying the stuff about the South now, because you guys are letting these clowns pass, and not say anything about it. Yeah, the East and West, had their sucka MC's too. But we check them for it,and we don't give them a pass. Just because they're out there, doesn't mean we approve or support.
ignoring urmomsluvsme comment on memphis bleek track being okay.. i BEG to differ. this sh*t is HORRIBLE! possibly the worst song of the year that i heard. ain't it sad that memphis has been around.. matter of fact, he got memphis in his name and he ain't from there. but back to what i was saying... isn't it sad that 9 years ago memphis bleek actually had fans that thought he was gonna take over with that "memp bleek is", "what you think of that" etc and now his careers 6 feet deep, side by side with hammer, vanilla ice, and state property... what the f*ck??? like dayum... what the f*ck?
Ya'll need to kill that noise about how we cosign this & that! Negro we don't cosign that sh*t that play on the radio!!! Ya'll need to get out more because all you checking for is "mainstream" pop music. What kinda fool with some taste in music gonna complain or form an opinion about what's on the radio station??? Ya'll need 2 get out to the clubs, shows, concerts and nightlife in the South before ya'll make brash comments that you don't know nothing about. To be honest, Memph Bleek definitely ain't the WORST mainstream rapper on the East - its them Dipset pink panthers who make the East look soft!!! For real, who in the world checking for Cam'ron or even worst Jenny Jones, them 2 negroes is worst than Soulja Boy!!! You know why? Because they fake as hell and pretend to be gully only to come off as CB4 gangsters with not a damn lick of talent!!! Now, how sad is that? We all know real gangsters don't or can't rap but to have some fugazi pansys that ain't got no talent try to rap about nothing!!! BOY!!!

On the D-Block record:
Oooooohhhh sshhh****ttt!!!
Haters and pretenders take notice. THAT right there is Hip-Hop. That record was like a glass of ice-cold water in a drought. And it began with the production, done by master producer/beatmaker PETE ROCK.
Hold up, hold up (before I finish that thought). Wasn't there a discussion on another page about the greatest Hip-Hop producers of all time? And the writer was pushin Timbaland as the one? My comment there was that Timb is the greatest POP Music producer, since that's what he's putting more out of. Dudes like Pete Rock and DJ Premier may not be on the current scene, but don't ever doubt their skills behind the boards. This track was as masterful as anything that's come out in the last 10 years. Folks on the DJ and production scene such as myself really, really appreciate work such as this. P-Rock may not get the big bucks like others, but his skill is unprecedented.
As far as the lyrics, whoever clowned Sheek Louch simply is ignorant and doesn't have the slightest clue to emceeing. I don't care if the dude is 42 years-old. When it comes to putting bars together and a good delivery, that right there was it. And he the weakest link!!! What Styles and Jada did after that wasn't only fire - it's a good showcase of what emceeing (rapping) was and will always be.
Cause when you compare this to the garbage that is being pawned off as Hip-Hop music, you can see how badly the quality has fallen off. The fact that the listening public has accepted such an inferior product nowadays is absolutely deplorable!
Real Hip-Hop shouldn't be about money and bling - face it, D-Block and others like them are not going to be making any. But it's all good. It's about time that the real emcees switched topics and returned to doing this for the art of it.
On the Memphis Bleek track:
Yeah, it's forgetable and probably won't get a second spin from most listeners. But, dayum, let's not exaggerate in our dislike of it.

Nigga-what??? THE worst??? So garbage by the likes of Jeezy, Wayne, Plies, and a host of Down Souf degenerates is better than Memphis Bleek's worst???
People have turned into full-time, dedicated haters! That's the only way to explain the greasy talk that comes out of their mouth at times. People have been so brainwashed to accept the current low quality of Hip-Hop that you can tolerate garbage simply because of the hype, but then CRUCIFY anything else (though this track from Bleek is admittedly mediocre).
I think what a lot of east coast fans are having problems coming to grips with, is the simple fact that NYC is no longer the standard bearer as to what is and isn’t considered hot anymore. NYC tastes no longer dictate what’s popping, now they’re usually months behind what is actually happening. With the decline of G-Unit, NYC mainstream hip hop relevance is almost zero. In the ultimate sequence of ironies, NYC rap has been reduced to regional status. On a national scale nobody cares about some new Lox track…Kay Slay came out with some “Unity” song with Pap, Uncle Murder, Yayo, etc. trying to make a NYC version of one of Khaled’s “We Takin Over” “I’m So Hood” anthems…and guess what, nobody outside of the tri-state cares…the current generation of younger emcees running the game
Weezy
Tip
Jeezy
Kanye
Lupe
There’s just really no east coast acts that are peers to those dudes, nobody on their level…all NYC has left are old heads, there’s no future…the crazy part is that Jay seems more closely aligned to the southern big dogs and the Chi-Town stars than the dead NYC scene
