And even though Joe's roots are heavy in Queens, he calls himself the "King of New Jersey." WOW. The king of Jersey? Not sure of how that sounds. But for now I'll say it sounds kind of corny. No one's doing anything in Jersey. How do you claim a throne that doesn't exist?

Knowing the way Joe can spit, I know he could have slaughtered Prodigy way worse than this. But this is still considered "going in on a n*gga" status. He went in so bad that I kind of feel bad for Ballerina P. Mainly because there's no way P's skills are still sharp enough to strike back with enough force for the sting to be felt. Kind of like what Papoose did to Fat Joanna. However, it's f*cked up to talk about a dude's physical condition. 2Pac once said something in reference to Prodigy's illness, which was funny but f*cked up: "Don't one of you n*ggas got sickle cell or somethin?!! You f*ckin with me n*gga you f*ck around and have a seizure or a heart attack. You better back the f*ck up, 'fore you get smacked the f*ck up!"
But anyways, f*ck Deaf Jam. Amalgam Digital put Joey on the roster, and now according to the Amalgam website he's set to drop his album October 28th, even though in the above video he says something about September 16th.
How does it take FIVE YEARS to release your sophomore album? Although I must say that the Mood Muzik series was highly successful and gave Joey a loyal fanbase that probably wouldn't have been established if he had received a second release on IDJ. So in this I'd say Deaf Jam shelving Joey was a blessing in disguise. He would have been too focused on being commercial, and Mood Muzik 2 and 3 probably would have never been as hot, if dropped at all.

Here is the challenge: Name 5 songs out of the Mood Muzik series that you will know the words to verbatim 8 years from now. Now out of those 5 songs name at least 2 that you enjoy so much that you would listen to 20 years from now?
My point exactly. Budden is okay. He is smarter than most rappers, but that's not saying much at all. Half of these negros don't even have GEDs. Does Budden's intelligence come across in his music? No. Does his impatience and arrogance come across? Yes.
I don't have to pay $15.99 for CD of impatience or arrogance. I can call up an old friend and chop it up for the hour it takes to listen to Budden's CD and have the same experience. (But it would be with an arrogant person that HAS a college degree and a really nice job - arguably enough to warrant a little arrogance, no?)

What are you talking about DUN? What you just said can be said about almost every artist in the game right now. Mood Muzik is better than half of these other cds out in the stores. Listen to artist's underground cds or mixtapes & they're a lot better then the actual commercial cds in stores. To tell you the truth, I think Budden could take anyone in a freestyle battle other then Baltimore Los who beat Cassidy in a freestyle.

Im from Brooklyn and we don't respect anything from outside the borough. New Jersey is not what's up right now. New Jersey has not been popping since Redman and Treach was doing it. I bought Joe Budden's first album but he only had like 3 good songs.

mood muzik 2 and 3 are in forms of a regular album.. not only would i remember and like the songs 10 years from now i would most likely still remember the verses.. i still bump MM2 in whip.. a good album doesnt die... Reasonable doubt, ready to die, illmatic, u going to always remember those songs the lyrics to those albums even with a year or 2 of not listening to it.. saying that theres no intelligence to what joe spit is pretty much letting me know you dont get half of what he was saying.. you must be a lil boosie or a shawty lo fan.. maybe even jim jones.. see if u can remember any of there one hits in NEXT year..

Granted, you dont hear a bunch of dumasses on the mixtapes from Jersey claiming about how much money they got or how they are killing everyone in they path. But, you do have dudes with deals doing it; Joe Buddens, Sam Scarfo and Akon. And Ransom is smashin the streets right now.
