My name is Busta Rhymes the greatest rapper in existence.

Okay cool. Every rapper should have a positive opinion on their status in the rap game. Lil Wayne called himself the greatest and then backed down when he shared the stage with Hov. Then he got back on his claim for the throne soon after, which just proves his declaration as a marketing/brainwashing ploy. Meanwhile, everyone outside of America-- particularly the UK-- is still calling Hov the best. Not that the UK matters. But yeah. Anyways...

Busta Rhymes is known for being more of an arrogant, cocky, dickhead than Kanye West. See what kind of mumbo jumbo he told MTV:

"I take to [people remaining oblivious to his "greatest" status] it optimistically. Like, it doesn't define my greatness because I feel greatness that supersedes what people categorize as great is hard to define. It's almost like putting a face on God. You can't put a face on God. There's many different faces of God because ... greatness supersedes what people could really fathom in their mind or paint as a picture in their mind. So in one religion, God'll be black. In another religion, God'll be white. ... I don't want people to take what I'm using as an example out of context.  I was always taught that I was made in the lightness of the most high. So I apply everything to life that I do as if I am made in the lightness of the most high. And the most high is Godly to me."

Taken out of context? Nah. If there's one thing that's widely known amongst believers in God, including myself, it would be to NEVER COMPARE YOURSELF TO GOD. Not on any level, shape, form, or fashion. That was a TERRIBLE comparison. And I could immediately see how he was trying to back track his statements for the sake of appeasing those who might have become offended. Yes, Jim Jones. Notice the way I used the word "appease."

Speaking of taking things out of context and Jim Jones' wacky vocabulary, I thought "supersede" means to "replace, switch, or swap." It sounds as if Busta is using this word as "surpass or exceed expectation." But okay. I could be wrong.

A good rapper? Yes. Clever? Definitely. Dexterity in the murder-you-on-your-own-sh*t department? No doubt. But in order to be the greatest, you have to be able to consistently touch or move an immeasurable group of people, which is one thing Busta has not been able to do throughout his career. At least in my eyes; some will beg to differ-- not that I care. But there are rappers out there that are BETTER than Nas. Better than Hov. Better than Biggie. Better than Pac. But they never got the shine, because they just didn't have what it takes. Busta has widely contributed to the game with a lot of hits and killer features throughout the years, but he just doesn't "have it." He's still reaching, and it's been how many years now?

So all this talk about how great you are? Ehhhh... not really, duke. Shut up.

fair enough about him not being the best.

as for never ever comparing yourself to god?

maybe if you knew a thing about god you would understand that you are, in fact, god. And so am i.

dont be so scared.

Well, god is the supreme being, lets break it down. Supreme meaning most high, being means to exist! Man is intelligence so the highest form of intelligence on this plane is the Blackman. Stop worshiping a mystery god! Thats what’s wrong with the world. I understand what Busta is saying. You don’t because you don’t have the knowledge of who god is! Read and open up your mind. Religion is a crutch for the weak. Truth is factual proof, it can be proven, unlike religious theories!
Peace,
The Blackman is God!!

whoever this reckless person is...you're a hating ass weenie in my opinion. I feel exactly what Busta is talkin about. Why can't a man who feels he's made in the likeness of the most high strive for that?

These blogs are full of haters. I bet yo wack ass used to be a rapper right?

I agree with Billdaberg..This Reckelss person is a wack small minded negro and apparently doesn't know shit about hip hop if so, they would know Busta is from the 5 percent nation. Who allows these clowns on SOHH?

I am so disappointed in the writer of this blog. The writer only possesses pseudo intelligence in defining terms but not applying the definition to the proper context. It is also overly opinionated and and highly subjective. Busta is one of the greatest rappers to ever do it. His flow, delivery, consistency, longevity, and creativity proves this, whether you are a fan or not, you cannot deny Busta Rhymes. He is in my top five and I can say that with confidence. He has been in the game for a longtime and has transitioned through several different eras in hip hop. Busta thinks he's number on the list. Do I think he is number 1? No. But is he off base for thinking he is number 1 or great in his own mind? No. It only makes sense for him to think he is number 1 at what he does. Religion is too touchy a subject and most of us do not possess enough knowledge to comment on it. None of us have infinite wisdom, so we must remain humble at all times and respect other people's beliefs even when we do not agree. It is indisputable however that it is widely taught that we are made in the likeness and image of God. All three monotheistic traditions (Judaism, Islam, Christianity), all agree on that one. So now Mr. Reckless (writer), define image and then define likeness, since you are so wise to define terms. We all may have different beliefs, but was Busta off base in making the analogy he made? I don't think so. He even made it clear about not taking it out of context, because he knows how closed minded people can be. Even though he used plain language in not taking it out of context, he failed you because you took it out of context anyway.

BUSTA HAS BEEN AROUND FOR 15YRS AND YOU ARE SAYING HE STILL DOESN'T HAVE IT? YOU MOST NOT HAVE BEEN AROUND LONG CAUSE BUSTA MOVES THE PEOPLE EVERY TIME HE TOUCHES ANY STAGE, TRACK, BOOTH... YOU DO NOT WANT TO PERFORM AFTER BUSTA CAUSE HE WILL BUST YOUR ASS!!!!! IT DOESN'T MATTER WHERE YOUR FROM EAST, WEST, NORTH AND SOUTH. HATER TAKE A VACATION SOME TIMES!

A Quick comment that will make some people upset...

There is no solid evidence, historical, archaeological,or scientific that proves that the stories and characters in the bible/Koran are 100% real...

In Fact most of the archaeological and historical evidence points toward the kingdom of Juda/israel/zion as being irrelevant, and the stories told in the old testament about the exploits of Juda(King David,Solomon)being greatly exaggerated.

What I stated above makes sense being that all of the evidence points towards ancient EGYPT,SUDAN/Nubia,and ETHIOPIA/Kush being the center of power in the world at the time of Israel/Judah.

I have a question...

How come they keep finding "the star of david" in ancient egyptian tombs that pre-date the time of King David...Hmmmmmmm....

Could it be that Judaism was a splinter off shoot of the ancient Egyptian belief systems and customs (that were laced with hidden math, science, astronomy, and codes of conduct that were told through the MADE UP stories told in ancient Egyptian MYTHOLOGY)????

Could it be that christianity is an off shoot splinter group of judaism?

Did christians become a cult and split from judaism to create their own "new testament" and start worshiping an ordinary man named jesus???

I don't knock any mans beliefs because the TRUTH is,none of us really knows who or WHAT is moving this universe!!! So we make it up lol...

Not that UK matters huh?
Well you mentioned us and who told you we rate Jay Z tha best, cuz dat is no tha case!! Trust me!!

hey joe,..

....uhm...mr. reckless

you are completely off key, and far from the tangible truth, in relgion. then, when it comes to busta rhymes...pretty much like most people who comment on busta...and don't know what the hell they are talkin about.

seriously,..the master of the CLAMP, made by the bomb squad has more accolades and quotable verses in just his career before becoming, a solo artist than any actual reigning rapper right now, other than ll cool j. there is no one in rap whose skillset outside of ll coolj, that is more copied and looked to as the template for being a dope high drawing consistent rapper. do we have to go through just the resume in rap's history as a draw to disprove you ignorant non historically accurrate comments as false. also,..in the history of rap, skillwise you can only find a small number of rappers who even compare wholeheartedly to the plethora of skills that busta has had, and shown incredible mastery of, over his career. every rapper, from luda, to most rapper that draw now,...wouldn't know how to even go last, on a joint, without the contribution of busta rhymes. let alone, contribute a dope feature verse if not for busta. let alone, just the idea of getting a young teenage group, and finding the large drawing artist is completely from elektra's sellling template of lons, and further marketing busta rhymes. not to mention, just the industry standard in rap/urban music, of releasing an album every years was shown to a draw, because of busta rhymes showing it could be done first by going multi platinum, back to back in under an eleven month time span. plus, in the avenue of reventing yourself musically and the developing tones, rhyme[schemes, patterns, flows], song writing, and next level sonic boom bap production. not to mention, how many drawing producer's in rap didn't even have an artist to champion their sound, without busta..that is jd, and swizz, just to name a few, and not to mention the bombsquad to shut your completely offkey blog typing a55 up. so while you fake jax, and omit history there are real historians and purist, and bboys who care about this culture. you have shown your hand. plus, shown you have no semblence of this culture let alone the skills required to be great to comment. i truely wonder how you became some, that was a writer on sohh.com

you are reckless, and need to check yourself...especially in this day and age, where rap as a drawing business could be coming to an end and ultimately be made a non drawing medium. we don't need the misinformed having a say, that stigmas artist who have made a godly legendary contribution to the entire rap business world, and hiphop as a culture.
