"I come in the studio, I get sky high, I fall asleep- fall into a drug-induced sleep, and wake up with a whole song."-- Jim Jones
Too bad this only worked for him once.
Then, Jimmy pulled a Hov move and claimed that he doesn't write down any of his music. Well we know this-- Max B was taking care of that. We're guessing that nowadays someone else is.
Say word? All of a sudden you spit all your rhymes from off the top? Riiiiiiiiiiiight.
"There definitely is a hip-hop police. They feel we're making too much money, as being young, black individuals, and young minorities and we possess too much power, and they feel that they want to interrupt that. I don't see why they don't do that for the rock-n-roll artists or the country artists or ... the church artists for that matter."
You don't see why they don't? Well that was a dumb question, because he had already addressed it in the preceding sentence: "young minorities." Not only does he not pay attention to what comes out of his own mouth, but it's "gospel" artists. Not "church" artists. And why would the police care about Kirk Franklin and Fred Hammond?
I'm coming down on the boy Jimmy, but I have to give it to him: he HAS improved with his speaking skills as far as not trying to use too many "big words" mixed with his hood ebonics. Sentences like "I was trying to figure out a predicament" and "I'm is still panning out a decipherment" didn't come up anywhere in this interview like I thought it would.
And speaking of Max B, how does he feel about his biggest former contributor?
"Um, where is he at? Is he alive? [Laughs] What he get [for his shows in Connecticut] like $2,500 a show? Come on, man. Don't appease me man. He's a twerp. I put him on my shelf. I own him, I own everything he does. So, yall won't be seeing him ever put an album in stores. Not right now. Maybe when I retire we'll work on his album, ya dig?"
Damn. He caught one at the end of the interview. Come on, dog. Don't appease me man. Don't appease me.
i guess that explains his music in a nutshell.
now if this was dipset related i wouldve had to say something after that last comment
but were talking about the guy who was taught to rap by mase. nuff said.
jim jones = max b = blinky blink = receptacle
Look Rappers need to stop frontin. Like most young black people, they feel they need to be more than what they are. If he writes his lyric's fine. If someone writes his lyric's fine. But don't front. I think there are alot of talented writers out there who could write hits for rappers. The RB artist have and benefit why not rappers? Hell, why not use writters, all you doing is spreading the wealth. Oh but that would be like supporting your fellow black people and that cant happen right? The game needs to change for real. Hell they use different producers, why not writers?
Jim jones aint got a ounce of black in him if yall aint know. And the reason the police aint cracking down on rock n roll artist is because you don't hear them on a track talking about how many drugs they've sold and how they belong to the blood gang.Rappers these days...They be acting fucking stupid and top of that...They lie about everything under the sun.
