D-Block Strap Up and "Prepare for Glory" --- But We Want The Lox!

Wow. It's been years since D-Block's infamous "2 Gunz Up." Was that summer of 2003? Well they haven't had a joint that banged that hard in the streets quite like that one ever since. And in the midst of Jadakiss struggling to get a release from Def Jam, Styles being a bitter indie artist, and Sheek not being able to lift more than 20,000 out of stores despite heavy rotation on Hot 97, these three-- who, without a doubt, carry the backbone of the unit they call D-Block-- are dropping an album... with D-Block, of course.

Via press release:

"One of New York's most dynamic street cliques, D-Block preps their latest opus, August 19th's "Prepare For Glory."

Anchored by core LOX members and platinum artists Jadakiss, Styles P. & Sheek Louch and also consisting of Poobs, Trav, Straws, A.P., T.Y., Bucky, Bully, Don D. & Large Amount, D-Block artists are collectively responsible for the sale of millions of units worldwide.

Having previously collaborated with such A-listers as Jay-Z, Diddy, Swizz Beatz, Eve, DMX & many more, D-Block and its crew of affiliated emcees once again assemble to bring that voracious, gritty, hardcore hip-hop to street corners around the world."

D-Block has "collectively" pushed "millions of units worldwide"? I don't know about that one. Maybe they have a "massive international mixtape following." But nice try though.

One thing's for sure: Through the years, Kiss, Styles, and Sheek have stuck together and weathered every storm thrown their way. Not enough people would care about the other members enough to want to buy the album outside of the reasoning being that The Lox is on it. So why not just drop another Lox joint?

Let's be real: The members of The Lox are presently struggling to stay on top as individuals, and they haven't tried to come together to try to revisit success as a trio. So who's going to push for a bunch of no-namers? I say forget the whole D-Block album. Who cares.
