Ahhh- I woke up this morning; brushed my teeth and showered then put on Million Man March CD – subsequently I went down stairs and ate 2 cold Bean Pies I then got dressed (by way of putting on my suit and bow tie); left my house; walked to the corner and bought a final call from the little junior FOI brother and came in here to the Plantation.

Oh, I want to thank those two Uncle Toms, Atheist and Nimrod for making reveal my true identity of being in the Nation of Islam. It is truly a liberating feeling. I mean last night I even went up in the mothership with THE MOST HONORABLE ELIJAH MUHAMMAD and learned about his initiative of one day having the FOI capture all the Uncle Toms (including Nimrod and Atheist) and decapitating their heads and then sticking their heads on a pole in a very public place for the other Uncle Toms to see. This will make the Uncle Toms reform. I have the perfect spot for hanging Atheist’s and Nimrod’s Dome Piece – on Atlantic Avenue in front the McDonalds in East New York.

Interesting enough Malcolm X and Kwame Ture both advocated killing the Uncle Toms like Nimrod and Atheist. You know at some point we need to carry on with he work of these great brothers and carry out their philosophy to the fullest.

This thing is shaping up very nicely for McCain. I am a Obama supporter (although I am not real happy with his posture as of late ) and honestly can't see the Democratic party unifying and pulling off a victory in November. I certainly hope that I am wrong but I believe that i am right.

Out of all the Republicans the one I can stomach most is McCain (becasue of his independent spirit and being his on man) and Jack Kemp (because he is moderate and a centrist who believe in urban enterprise zones) but other than those to the Republican party is hard to take.

It is that I don’t like him but I am growing increasingly uncomfortable with his drive by repudiations of Black folks. Now denouncing Farrakhan you can understand. Farrakahn threatens his Jewish support and his independent. The doctrine of the NOI (and you that I am member; right…lol) reside outside of the mainstream of the Middle Class and America’s norms and value system. So politically; even if they friends in private; I didn’t think that he had a choice but to denounce him. However; denouncing Rev Wright I thought was a little contrived.

Rev Wright’s comments at the National Press Clubs was consistent with every thing else that he said for 20 years. In fact I found his speech to be most factual with some subjective –leftist dogma. This outrage Obama displayed as a reaction to Wright’s speech I thought was disingenuous. Many times I listen to Rush Limbaugh and the Sean Hannity Show on the Radio because I like to know where the extreme right stands because they are in power now. They believe that the Rev Wright National tour is the political version of a Broadway show. They think this is the owe wink of the eye play production – thus setting up an opportunity for Obama denounce Wright to bring comfort to his white base and those independent voters that are still up for grabs.

Last weekend I was part of a series of great discussions on 360 when a myriad of people who had diverse opinions on it but I tell you he is starting to be doubted by some in the Black community. Some people are starting to see him as nothing more that an opportunist. You know that Dr. Cornell West has broken ranks with him.

This sista on 360 posted a great article ( I will try to post it on here after I finish this post) where Black folks in Indiana are saying that Obama is ignoring them. They are starting to feel like he is just another Democrat who simply assumes the Black vote is theirs and just take them for granted.

Anyway; the question I have asked people on 360 all weekend (I even wrote a blog about it) is what is the ultimate cost for Black people of the Obama presidential run and if he is elected what will be the pay off. Many of our people believe that they will have power under Obama and that idea is as crazy as Nimrod and Atheist marrying Black women.

Anyway; I a little uncomfortable with Obama politics right now.

Heritage month is the time to specially celebrate and remember our past. Our pasts are important because they have helped shape and create our present and will have an impact on our future. People who place a high value on themselves tend to place a high value on their pasts and tend to treasure and preserve important elements of their pasts.
In Atlanta, Georgia , there is a space set aside to honour the memory of Dr Martin Luther King Jr. Given ordinary commercial realities, the space taken up by Atlanta’s MLK Memorial is prime real estate. Given people’s desire to make big bucks, it would make sense to take all the stuff dedicated to Dr King, move it out to some cheap scrubland and re-display it on cheaper ground. It would make commercial sense. After all we’re only talking about a simple engineering task of moving a metal statue and some marble and stone.
Or, here in our Bermuda, we could take this National Heroes Day that we’re going to have in October and we could all just let the holiday be dedicated to somebody else, say ‘Toebell Burgess’. We could all take a cooling-out holiday and have a cold one in memory of ‘Toebell’. After all, ‘Toebell’ must have been a hero to somebody — at sometime or other.
In Bermuda’s Heritage Month, as the month begins to unfold, I see that the kind of heritage devaluing process that I’ve just been describing appears to be rampant.
1852. In big bold stone letters, high up on the western face of the Alexandrina Hall, these four numbers are carved. 1852. By itself, it’s just a number, like a two or a four or a ten. Just a number. But knowledge of my heritage tells me that the number is highly significant.

Ex-slaves bought the land

In Bermuda, slaves were emancipated in 1834. So the ex-slaves who bought the land on which Alexandrina Hall now stands had worked, had sacrificed, and had saved enough money to make that purchase. That carved out 1852 would mark the year that the Hall was finished. That means that the adult men who built that building had all been slaves just eighteen years before.
That building — Alexandrina Hall — is their monument. It is also a monument to the times. That building, Alexandrina Hall, is also a monument to, and a reminder of Bermuda’s slave heritage.
For the past many years, on or close to 1st August in each year, a few black Bermudians have been taking to the stage and have been orating about Bermuda’s slave past and Bermuda’s black heritage. The story is usually that of slave hardships and later emancipation. In all the times that I’ve heard and seen these little stagings, I’ve always been reminded of the fate of the black men and black women who were delivered into, born into, or sold into slavery.
There is a group of black men who are today’s owners or possessors of Alexandrina Hall and who intend to sell Alexandrina Hall.
Given the values that their selling intention displays, I think that in this year, and starting now, these black men should forswear their acquaintance with the words and emotions of slaves coming out of slavery. They should forswear the words and roles of the slaves and ex-slaves. Instead, they should take up the roles of those old African chiefs who captured and sold their fellow black men and black women into slavery. In changing roles, they would be acting completely in character and in sync with their actions in 2008 in this Alexandrina Hall matter.
They would be acting as they are behaving. They are yesterday’s black African sellers of men descended to today’s black Bermudian sellers of a large part of Bermuda’s small but precious national black heritage.
They are acting in the same manner as did those old African slave catcher and slave sellers.

Indiana Black Voters Feeling Ignored…

(Akiit.com) For weeks, Delores Smith, membership coordinator at the Madame C. J. Walker Theater in Indianapolis, has e-mailed and called Sen. Barack Obama’s representatives, hoping he’ll hold a campaign event at the 937-seat theater. It is, after all, named in honor of one of the nation’s first black millionaires. And its place in the heart of one of Indianapolis’ oldest black neighborhoods makes it a key stop for candidates seeking this city’s nearly quarter-million African-American voters — the largest concentration in Indiana. But so far, Smith says, “I haven’t heard anything.”
Even before the major distraction this week caused by the remarks of black liberation theologist and former Obama pastor Jeremiah Wright, black voters in Indiana have been feeling ignored. While both Democratic presidential candidates have been jockeying for the rural, working-class white voters who make up much of Indiana’s electorate, they have been largely absent from predominantly black neighborhoods that have historically been among the party’s strongholds. For much of the campaign in Indiana, as well as around the country, many black voters feel there has been little effort to engage them on issues that have particular impact in the black community, such as the home foreclosure and HIV crises.

Amos Brown III, one of Indianapolis’ most popular black talk radio hosts, says many African Americans here, like elsewhere in the country, were buoyed by Obama’s success in overwhelmingly white states like Iowa and Idaho. Obama generated even more local excitement with his March 15 visit to a suburban Indianapolis high school. But since then, Brown says many of his listeners are asking, “Where is he? And, is he going to come to the ‘hood or not?’ Hoosiers, black or white,” Brown adds, “like to be courted. It’s important to go to the smaller towns, but it’s just as important to go out into the neighborhoods of the big city. I haven’t seen that with Barack or Hillary.”

Except for a brief visit last Sunday to Country Kitchen, a popular soul food restaurant here, Obama hasn’t made a significant appearance in any black neighborhood in Indianapolis, or elsewhere in the state. Last weekend, Sen. Hillary Clinton assembled a modest crowd at a Bennigan’s in largely black Gary, in Indiana’s northwest corner. Chelsea Clinton has been dispatched to many of Indiana’s colleges, but not Martin University, a small, predominantly black school here. “If her job is to work the college crowd,” says Brown, “why not go there?”

Cornell Burris, the 72-year-old president of the 1,000-member NAACP branch in Indianapolis, said he couldn’t bring himself to be present at Sen. Obama’s visit last month to Plainfield. “To be honest,” Burris said last week, carefully choosing his words, “I didn’t like the idea that it was out there in that particular sector of Marion County. It’s a predominately white neighborhood. I’d hoped to see him in the inner city of Indianapolis, not in the suburbs.”

To some degree, Obama has been constrained by a desire to not be marginalized as a black candidate — a concern, of course, that lay behind his distress over the comments by Rev. Wright. Furthermore, speaking about black-specific issues to African-American audiences carries some risk. “If he starts talking about these things in meaningful terms directly to the black community, white people will be disaffected by that,” says Ron Walters, political science professor at the University of Maryland.

Some of Obama’s support among black voters has been driven by comments by Sen. Clinton and her surrogates that have been interpreted as both racially inflammatory and an attempt to curry favor with conservative white voters. David Bositis, senior research associate at the Joint Center for Political and Economic Studies, a Washington think tank specializing in black issues, said that last fall he estimated Clinton had the potential to win about 50% of the black vote nationally. After Obama’s dramatic performance in Iowa, he put the figure at 33%. Now, he believes she will take only 10% to 15%. So far, in Indiana, the Clinton campaign has made little significant effort to court black voters. To some, it’s as if Clinton’s campaign has written off blacks because they are not, in the words of one of her campaign’s volunteer, part of the New York senator’s “natural orbit,” like Latinos, women and older voters.

Much is at stake for the Democrats. While blacks account for barely 9% of Indianans, they are a crucial constituency neither candidate can afford to alienate, or take for granted. Indeed, some locals are pointing to the way Obama conducted his campaign in Pennsylvania as an object lesson. At one point, the Illinois Senator was asked about his lack of activity in Philadelphia’s black neighborhoods and told the Philadelphia Daily News, “I’m a big believer in going to places where you’re weak, not where you’re strong, and reaching out to people you might not otherwise expect to vote for you.” Days later, after Obama failed to carry Philadelphia by a large enough margin to compensate for losses elsewhere in the state, the newspaper ran a story with the headline, “Did Obama blow the election by blowing off Philly?”

Recreate the family structure that drugs played such a role in destroying and although I am not a Christian or Muslim if these were the things they promoted primarily I'd be 100% for them.

It's the foray into the political realm when unwed mothers are multiplying in the congregation that draws my ire. Things of that nature. If these so called leaders can't adress the basic issues that afflict the community I don't want to hear them talking about Palestine or N Korea.

Peace. I came to that understanding a little over a decade ago. I've actually studied much throughout the course of my life. I've gotten much exposure to a wide array of thinking and belief systems. Deep inside I believe that All Is One. I also believe that God is neither good nor evil but the sum of ALL. That is too much for the mind to even comprehend on this plane of existence so man attempted to describe the undescribable and hence, RELIGION was born.

Each system of beliefs are unique to the region and environment they are birted from. The elements played a big role in establishing dress codes, cultures and diets. Habits lead to customs, lead to culture and culture deified gives us religion. So when I see brothers walking around in sheets with their beards dies red as if their in 7th century Arabia I know they lack understanding.

I build with NOI members on occasion about Clarence 13X, & 4 the most part, I get various opinions, some of the brothers give him his props 4 teaching his interpretation of Islam 2 the youth the way he did, then there R some brothers who, just off the term 5%, thinks we're all about drinking & getting high, or "being a 5% Muslim as opposed 2 100%" this became a problem whereas, we did'nt want 2 have that stigma about our nation, the Father was'nt around long enough physically, 2 see how we've grown & prospered as a nation, but what he did was reach those not taught by the Muslims of the NOI, & taught them 2 be the sole controller of their OWN universe, meaning their individual lives.
