Did Anyone Know Foxy Dropped an Album Today?

Um... Foxy just dropped an album today.

But unfortunately, no one knew.

And no one cares. Talk about fall-off status.

For every rapper that was hot back in the 90s and then pulled a 5 year + hiatus, I’d have to ask why even continue to release material if your albums are just going to be mediocre, thrown-together music that is not worth a fraction of the $14.99 you’re asking for.

And when are people going to realize that online marketing really doesn’t work? Although it raises awareness about the upcoming release of an album, it’s word-of-mouth (for an exceptional effort) and the radio and video rotation that get people to actually buy the disc. For instance, this verse that LL spit over G-Unit’s latest joint "Rider" {LISTEN} that I heard on Kay Slay’s mixshow Thursday night. I don’t think he wrote the whole verse but it was definitely hot.

Speaking of LL, it’s been months since the announcement of his “upcoming” album and still we’ve heard no official radio single. And Uncle L has been real quiet about it. My guess is that since Hov is no longer with Def Jam, he doesn’t have anyone to blame about the push for his album release, nor can he bitch and moan at Jay about the way his disc is marketed. Even though LL got the some of the best promo on Def Jam -- as far as rappers go. And his album was wack as f*ck. Some of the worst material I’d bother to listen to that year.

Now that El Presidente has left the building and L is getting even “worse” treatment than beforeâ€"when he was constantly going on record complaining and throwing every Def Jam rapper on board to try and create an I-Hate-Hov campaignâ€"the only one he can point the finger at now is L.A Reid.

So where is the crying and whining now?

*Crickets*

I doubt it was really that Todd Smith flopped. It sounds like LL just had a little bit of hate in his heart for Hovie.

Stop blaming n*ggas for your garbage-ass album and make better music. As a veteran, you should know better than that.

But that verse was good sh*t though.

Foxy is just another rapper whose best days are in the rear view mirror. I can't say it enough. I wanna hear the classics from old school rappers and Fox Boogie is definitely old school having come on the scene in 95. I don't wanna hear new music from old rappers just like I don't wanna hear new music from Al Green. Stick to your hits and let the new breed have their shine.

@ "evil" PZ

Stanning is all fun and games... actually, it shows how desperately miserable a person you are to do it days on end. But kill the unnecessary over-the-top comments. Wouldn't it be a waste to get cursed for blaspheming over a dumb blog??? Or, if you don't reverence deity, at least have some respect for people who do. (How old are you, fool!)

@ Nimrod,

Hip Hop has gone to such low standards that we have to switch the grading system and grade on a curve, so to say. Because of the "swagger" factor, garbage artists and their garbage songs are being helmed as "hot."

The swagger factor is also the reason why Foxy is in the status you say she is. And when in that status, artists should play their position. Actually, although she put out an album, it is good that there wasn't such hype and marketing - that's for the quote, unquote "hot" artists. So this makes sense. Let her play in the background.

But the "worst" of Foxy is still above average compared to today's crop.

Hold up... I've got a political bug this morning...

Before I even read the drop, I gotta say DAMN I still LOVE Foxy's fat ass RACK son!!! Damn, I wanna get in between! lmao.

Aight, Imma read the drop now. hahahahaa.

1.

Oh my lord... hold on, stop the presses, did Reckless actually say that a G-Unit song was hot???
-
Jesus H, what is the world coming to?!?! LMAO!
-
Naw, forreal tho, Like I said to BigUp yesterday, even some haters are hearing the material and you just cant deny when somethings hot. Just goes to show. I knew Foxy had an album coming out, but I didnt know when or w/e, that sh!t didnt even leak!! Lmao! You know your album is trash when people dont even bother leaking the sh!t. hahaha.
-
Now another Firm album, that I would purchase, like actually purchase, and I dont do that often. Usually I only purchase albums at shows because of my "No Show, No Dough" rule on musicians. No show in my town, no dough gettin thrown down.

Peas to the usuals.

Damm this nigga is thirsty.

She not better than your moms

Foxy Brown is so gangsta and sexy. She would lyrically destroy any female MC especially MC Lyte and lil Kim. Trina? Dont get me started.

The "stick to your classics" mantra makes good sense. First off, good music ages like fine wine and enters that "classics" category. Listening to it takes you back to a different time and it has a nostalgic effect. That's why I still spin Motown and old-time R&B. It doesn't have to compete with what's spinning on the radio today.

Also, it looks mad ugly when you see those classic Hip Hop artists trying to "keep up with the times." Somehow, it lowers your esteem of them.

SOMEBODY HELP ME OUT: I'm searching all over the net to cop EPMD's "Business Never Personal." I had that way back in the day and my copy was lost/ruined long ago. But nowadays, I'm itchin for that album. And that's the definition of a classic - at least on a personal level. Something that makes you itch like a fiend for.

I hear that Public Enemy will perform at Hot97's Summer Jam this year. Hmmmm. I wonder what that's gonna be like.

That's a question for you right there Nimrod: Should PE come out EXACTLY like we remember them (S1Ws and all), or should they come out somewhat "updated"??? One thing that will be proven is some records are bangers no matter what era: "Welcome to the Terrordome!"

I believe Fox still has a chance to shine because shes still marketable.

Fox is still a fairly young and attractive lady who has good mic skills when compaired to the other women on the market.

All she needs is a HIT!!!

She also needs to get her mind right and get people around her who knows how to direct people to successful careers.

When you keep getting in trouble for doing chidish things and you have people around you who are only talented at setting you up for robberies and then retrieving and returning your stolen goods, its not a good look...

Apparently, someone at Foxy's label still thinks that coming out of jail will still sell your album. Where's the single at? Where was the promo? Maybe she should pose for Playboy or something and call it a day? Maybe she could become the next host of some knock off show BET is about to put out. Fox of Love anyone. Stick a fork in her because she's done.

About EPMD's "Business Never Personal" I read that not only can nobody find a single copy to buy, but they actually lost the masters (or something that seriously f#cked up)!!!

Yeah, it looks like Reck slipped up and actually said something positive, if not neutral about G-Unit. She like a spoiled brat who wants to stay mad and tries hard keeping a frown and not cracking a smile. Learn to be an unbiased critic.

Speaking of 50 Cent/G-Unit (you know he keeps the blogs fed), the thing that interests me the most is how Young Buck is refusing to lash out fire against them. I mean, he's been clowned mad hard, yet he's hardly throwing anything back. I'm not advocating another ridiculous "beef". All I'm observing is that he's keeping himself from saying or doing something drastic. Maybe he knows he actually had it good before and things will be much harder for him as an individual now.

@ Nimrod, Atheist, other interested parties:
On politics, this thing with Ron Paul trying to sabotage McCain and the emergence of Bob Barr as the Liberitarian party's presidential candidate is very, very interesting.

I'm still waiting for Lauryn Hill to come back from Crazytown and finally give us another Dirty Backpack classic.

@React
I think Young Buck realizes that before G-Unit, no one was even fucking with him like that. He was with Cash Money but they never signed him or anything. He was just the cat that hung with them on the bus and smoked weed and whatever with. He talks about the South but it took someone from the New York to give him his shine and he can't take that fact away from 50. Now that he has G-Unit fame, everyone is jocking him. Without them, he would be a broke junkie instead of a pseudo-rich one.

In my never ending quest to cause flopage to wack rappers, today we come to a cross roads in my decision to post Foxy's newest weed plate due to the fact that she's (1) a female and (2) has a nice pair of titts, ass Ereal has already mentioned.

Since we are in a time of equal rights as far as gender goes, I feel it is my right to post her weed plate. The Hater doesn't discriminate. Also, my title as "SOHH's most valuable Hater" would be in jeopardy, so without further or do I present to you bloggers a free download of Foxy Brown's new album:

Dam Foxy is probably good enough to drop a hot joint now and then on somebody's mix tape.(I do bnot see any interest in a full disc!) Foxy spent too many years hugging JZ nuts and living off of what she could of potentially done in the studio and acting like a fashion model instead of an MC. SORT OF LIKE EVE! Eve is reduced to slumming in hollyweird! Foxy is reduced to slumming in Brooklyn! It only so long before you can pretend to be hot! or have a product worth marketing!
She should go back to mix tapes and start from scratch! she has one year @ best to get sht poppn!

@React
Well you havent heard Buck deny anything thats been said by 50 about how he spends his dough, or the drugs, or the money loans, ect. In fact he confirmed most of that, so whats to say? It was a string of miscommunications that turned into a mess. I think Buck is in that "You know you done phucked up right?" place.
-
And, dont forget the videos of D-Tay that came out just shortly before this happened, where D-Tay is going at Buck for leaving him behind and not communicating with him, ect.
-
It just sucks, its a sheity sitcho. I mean like 50 said "Fat Joe is a 20K a show n*gga, my homies (Bank$ & Yayo) make way more than that just to help me do my shows. I guess Buck decided he didnt want that kinda money anymore"
-
Another reason is one I mentioned to BigUp yesterday. Buck is still on the label. SO if he comes out his face sideways he could end up like Spider "Shelf Kept Secret" Loc and that rapper with the ghey porn name. YHR. lmao.

WTF? I hate this damn filter. Why is it that you cant say G AY but you can say Faggot and Homo??

BACK TO FOXY...

It may be better for her to stay in the background. But if she is to get a hit and make some form of comeback, Hip Hop is the hardest genre to do it. The chick Mariah Carey had gone bonkers and mental, but somehow has rebuilt her career. That's because she exists in the niche that's a cross between R&B and Hollywood/TMZ world where the likes of Lindsay Lohan and Paris Hilton lives. That's the most forgiving place for a chick to be.

But Hip Hop is nowhere near that. The hit would have to be a 10.0 on the rictor scale... and it still may not be enough. That's because swag means everything in Hip Hop (although it shouldn't).

How she gonna live down the beating her mans and the side-chick gave her???

What about her stint at Rikers and her talkin bout her weave was falling off???

And her goin deaf??? People would even give Prodigy a drop of sympathy for sickle cell!!!

Now, Lauren Hill - the crazy old hag she has become - has a slightly better chance of climbing back out of the pit. That's cause she's still 65% R&B.

LLLLLLLLolipop

I lick the penis like a lllllllllolipop.

D/L brothas CALL ME!!!

llllllllolipop

@React
I see you on the Mariah refrence, but there one pivitol difference between Mariah Carey and Foxy Brown... its a lil bitty thing called TALENT. lmao!
Everyone knows Foxy had / has ghostwriters, so her persona and image is all he really has to sell. With the mainstream leaning back twords HipHop infused R&B, (Think new jack swing era) and with alot of the new mainstream rap artists pandering to females (i.e. EVERYONE) I just dont see that space for a real appreciated Female emcee right now.
Even Lauren hill was never really a "MC" she was/is a singer with MC skills. Her best stuff she did solo, and the best Fugees tracks were mostly her singin and Pras holdin it down on the lyrics with Wyclef on the boards.
I mean damn, even Jean Grae wants to quit, because theres really not that niche there anymore.
Maybe Soulja Girl, lol, you didnt know she could freestyle did you? ROFL!

Evangelicals, Huckabee allied to sink McCain?

May 12, 2008Recommend (21)

ROBERT NOVAK novakevans@aol.com
John McCain, who has spent the last two months trying to consolidate right-wing support as the Republican candidate for president, has a problem of disputed dimensions with a vital component of the conservative coalition: the evangelicals. The biggest question is whether Mike Huckabee is part of the problem or the solution for McCain.

An element of the Christian community is not reconciled to McCain's candidacy but instead regards the prospective presidency of Barack Obama in the nature of a biblical plague visited upon a sinful people. These militants look at former Baptist preacher Huckabee as ''God's candidate'' running for president in 2012. Whether they can be written off as merely a troublesome fringe group depends on Huckabee's course.

Huckabee's announced support of McCain is unequivocal, and he is regarded in the McCain camp as a friend and ally. But credible activists are spreading the word that Huckabee secretly allies himself with the bitter-end opposition. That hardly seems possible considering his public backing, but critics of Huckabee's 10 years as governor of Arkansas say he is all too capable of playing a double game.

McCain and Huckabee were friendly rivals in this year's Republican competition, sharing contempt for Mitt Romney. Indeed, McCain could not be where he is today had not Huckabee mobilized born-again voters to upset Romney in the Iowa caucuses. All efforts by Romney to overtake McCain in conservative Southern state primaries were stifled by Huckabee's success in those contests. Huckabee quickly endorsed McCain once he clinched the nomination. They bonded publicly in Little Rock, Ark., on April 24 during McCain's recent tour.

Nevertheless, reports out of the evangelical community dispute Huckabee's support. One experienced, credible activist in Christian politics who would not let his name be used told me Huckabee in personal conversation with him embraced the concept that an Obama presidency might be what the American people deserve. That fits what has largely been a fringe position among evangelicals, that the pain of an Obama presidency is in keeping with the Bible's prophecy.

According to this activist, at the heart of the let-Obama-win movement is longtime Virginia conservative leader Michael Farris -- the nation's leading home-school advocate, who is now chancellor of Patrick Henry College (in Purcellville, Va.) for home-schooled students. Farris is regarded as one of the hardest-edged Christian politicians. He is reported in evangelical circles to promote the biblical justification for an Obama plague-like presidency.

In conversations with me, Huckabee and Farris both denied advocating that an Obama presidency should be inflicted on the country. Huckabee was enthusiastic in his support for McCain, noting how well they had bonded during their primary competition.

Farris is another matter. A vigorous supporter of Huckabee for president, he has not endorsed McCain and may never do so (though he quickly adds he never would vote for Obama or Hillary Clinton). ''I am concerned about what judges he [McCain] may name,'' Farris told me, ''and the test will be who he selects for vice president.'' He made it clear that Huckabee would be his choice, and ruefully added, ''I understand he is not under consideration.''

At McCain headquarters, there is no doubt expressed about Huckabee's loyalty. ''I feel we haven't used him [Huckabee] enough,'' McCain campaign manger Rick Davis told me. McCain's strategists are more concerned that libertarian Rep. Ron Paul has not abandoned his candidacy, keeps fighting for delegates and says he will not endorse McCain.

Huckabee has emerged from obscurity to become a major factor in American politics leading evangelical Christians. The McCain campaign counts on him to energize supporters who would rather wait for Huckabee 2012, not to encourage those dreams.

@ BIGUP2BK

I think you were the one that mentioned the issue if Barack possibly being "given" the presidency is a way the government seeks to accomplish race reparations.

That is an interesting idea especially the way things are going now. I won't get into the theories of what the puppeteers are doing behind the scene, but my question is the following:

SHOULD the Black community accept a Black president as reparations; as a sufficient peace offering of sorts?

I don't ask that with an already fixed position - I'm really wondering. You know why? Because on one hand (and I know I'll catch heat for this but) plenty has already been done (on a federal level). As I say so often, the opportunities that our ancestors were barred from are now accessible to everyone - but many are not taking advantage of it.

The problems that remain (such as police brutality) really are on a state level. Heat must be applied on a local level, and my suggestion has always been an increase in litigation (aided by a well-structured agency that focus on racial issues). In America, it's become that you can't say a word against homosexuals. Through their small organizations and the help of Hollywood, they are protected.

So, beyond that, what's left? The pope spoke about this country's history of injustice to Blacks, and essentially wanted someone to issue an apology. IS THAT WHAT WE'RE WAITING FOR???

I don't see the connection between reparations and an Obama presidency. Did anyone in media link the two somehow?

I'm not a big reparations guy simply because I concern myself with NOW and the future much more. I don't knock the reparation proponents though. I just think rather than a check we need a level playing field. Having said that, if my check shows up in the mail I will cash it. LOL!

Dayum, it took forever to get that post through.

@ Nimrod.
Not that I'm trying to start controversy (best believe no), but I like to speak my mind and express my thoughts accordingly. Holla back at me on that last post - agree or disagree, it don't matter.

A Black presidency is a separate and distinct matter to what happens on a state level. That's the level where police racial profiling, inner city conflict, employment, private industry, etc. all exist.

And a memo to my fellow man who uses the "ghetto cnn" to frame his opinion on how the entire country is going: pick up a magazine like "Black Enterprise" every now and then.

I purchased the Foxy Joint and the joint is fire. Not better than Broken Silence, but better than any other female joint.

I may be wrong but it is my belief that the powers that be only make third party candidates relevent in presidential elections when it benefits them.

Heres my own conspiracy theory that i thought of.LoL!

Its not enough that they have the media and the screwy electorial college process to get the candidate that they want into office, they also have a little trick up their sleeve if all else fails.

For example...

If i want Bill clinton to win i'll make someone like Pat buchannan or Ross Perot a relevant candidate in the eyes of the people through the media so those candidates can steal votes from the conservative republican nominee.

The same goes for republican...

If i want Goerge Bush to win i'll give someone like Ralph Nader a voice and he'll steal votes from Gore and Kerry...

Now ask yourself a question.

Who does it help when this guy Barr and Ron Paul are all of a sudden given relevance in the media?

LIAR!!!! SPIDER JUST FOUND OUT HE'S BEEN SHELVED, SO NOW SPIDER ONLY PAYS WITH BLOWJOBS!!!

@ E Fra:

The let the democrats win movement has been in place every since it was evident that McCain had Republican Party nomination sown up. Because I study every ideology I can find time to study I am a pretty frequent listener to the Rush Limbaugh show and Sean Hannity show. I also watch Hannity and Combs often and because of my job I read the wall street journal on a daily basis. So I am exposed (by choice) to an awful lot of Republican rhetoric.

The party of elephants does not trust John McCain on immigration, judges and other socially conservative issues. They hated the McCain Fiengold campaign finance reform bill that mostly republicans filibustered. They hayed the John Kerry VP overtures that he entertained back in 04. They hated his tireless public and private advocacy for Rumsfeld to be fired for his gross mismanagement of the Iraq war. The hated his leadership of the so called “gang of 14” which I though was great leadership on McCain behalf to get a Bush conservative anti-abortion/anti Roe vs. Wade judge (justice Roberts) confirmed to the supreme court. And most of all they hate his open borders/clemency approach to solving the issue of so-called illegal immigration.

So they don’t trust him. See the view is which ever candidate who win the white house this year will be such a disaster for the party they represent that that party will not access the white house again for at least another 20 years. Over the next 20 years you will have supreme court judges retiring and dying and so the republicans feel that they want to be in position to replace those judges when the opening become available and the only way to do it is to be in control of the white house.

So conservatives like Ann Coulters (she is crazy as hell) and Rush Limbaugh and even libertarians are secretly trying to sabotage McCain chances for winning. There view is that they would rather have 4 years of awful and pathetic democratic presidential leadership and then they take over for the subsequent 20 years and not have is the other way around. Basically they are saying whatever party loosing this election will eventually be the big winner!

Peace to the real.

I'm not a big reparations guy simply because I concern myself with NOW and the future much more. I don't knock the reparation proponents though. I just think rather than a check we need a level playing field. Having said that, if my check shows up in the mail I will cash it. LOL!

**********************************************************************************

Well, as you can detect in my post, I personally don't think one is needed because the "iron curtain" has come down. Even though we still have a heap of racial issues, the country is in the place where we can systematically attack it (even the Sean Bell-type of cases).

But there are people who actually are still waiting for their "40 acres and a mule." There are people who are waiting for their apology from "The Man." Speaking of Al Sharpton and Farrakhan, at their worst they feed into that mentality. That the iron curtain is still up and we virtually should take up arms in civil war.

SO TO SUCH PEOPLE, is having a Black president the proof that the evils of yester-year have been atoned for? That White America has now done enough to uplift the Black community? The way I see it, reparations take several forms - there is the financial reimbursement some people actually look for, or the policies to ensure fair and equal treatment, or even just the perception that "it's all good now."

For the record, I do believe in affirmative action, especially on an academic level.

LOL. But anyone who was looking for a check, the Katrinians all but ruined that idea. Daaaaayum, LOL. People spending the money on bling, strip clubs, etc.

@REACT
i feel like what the feds did for us is the direct response of us fighting for it so they aint give us nothing in that sense we earned it. but real reparations is when the countries and compainies (not just amerikkka ) that profitted off our miseries need to rebuild Africa, the same way amerikkka give so much to isreal. thats how i feel, cause ts not like someone is appointing barack as a prez he gotta earn that.
-
thats like you being my slave for 10 years then i start paying you on your 11th year saying now this is a form of reparations, lol, no it aint.

@Atheist
Pat Buchanan? That dude is a nazi! lmao.

Seriously tho, speaking of the "god old days" or "Clinton Years" you dont blame them for the situation we're in on some level? It was during Clintons administration that we closed most of our at home bases and opened all these bases abroad in countries we dont need. Clinton let Osama get away, sold military secrets to china, and weakened our national security. Now Bush did take advantage of that being the situation, no doubt and Clinton was a great president for the economy, thats true.
But, the democrats scare me in hte fact that they tend to be soft. Obama, he dosent seem soft, and I believe in him and his message, but thats been the case with the democrats most of the time. They make us rich fat and happy, but weak.
IMO, we need to start closing these bases abroad and pull the reigns back a bit. Our empire is over extended. That one focus point I havent heard from any candidate. That bothers me.
Sorry, kinda ranted.. heh...

@ React and Nim:

This is the blog i wrote on my 360 page.

______

Does Obama = Reparations? I bet you in the eyes of white folks he does!
Black reparations have always been an irritable conversation for both Black and white people living in America. Black folks who are in support of reparation have always had difficulty coming to a consensus at what the compensation should be while whites have always stuck their middle finger up in the air saying” I wasn’t alive when your ancestor were enslaved. I didn’t enslave anybody so why should I have to pay you?”

Now I have always yelled to the top of my lungs in opposition of the idea of each Black person receiving several hundred thousand dollars and that by us getting that it would wipe the slate clean regarding all of the injustices we have and continue to endure in this Nation. My reason for being oppose to it is because given our current mindset which is to serve and support others and deny our selves the monetary compensation in the end would only benefit a few of us. I mean once we paid off our debt and purchased all our material desires our government check would be fully exhaustive and we would be right back in the same wretched condition.

My view of reparations (which means repair) is to totally repair Black folks mentally, spiritually, educationally (no more of the mis-education that trains me to serve white folks and do nothing for myself and my community), economically along with addressing issues with judiciary system; unpaid debt, housing, and the gross health care disparity. See my vision of reparation mirrors
America’s fiscal policy to Iraq which is to have an open check book for as long as it take until the Black man and woman of America is fully repaired. So as you can see what I want a few hundred thousand dollars per Black person can’t address.

Now what I am expecting out of white folks is for them to say that president Barak Obama (I now actually believe he will be the next president) was the president for a four year period (I don’t believ white folks will give him 8 years in that chair) which means he was the most powerful man in the world for four years and basically directly and indirectly had access and control over the world’s resources and he didn’t help you. I believe they will argue that he was America’s version of reparation and if you own couldn’t repair you then what you expect from us?

I wonder what your reaction will be to a possible (I believe probable) charge that white folks will make saying Barak was suppose to be a savior and he failed us (Knowing damm well that they will tie his hands in a way that whatever help he can provide us will be minimal.) ? Give me your best counter argument. You don’t even have to supportive of the idea of reperations but I am just wondering what your reaction to idea of white folks saying “we gave you Barak so get out of our face. We don’t owe you niggers anything else.”
_________

It was really just a view for the political junkies/Barak supporter and Pan Africanists to consider. I don't actually believe white folks will vote for Barak as apart of a reparations package of some sort. I just think that his presidency at some point will be thrown back up in our face when those of us make the reparation arguement 5 years from now and beyond.

Brooklyn B wrote: "but real reparations is when the countries and compainies (not just amerikkka ) that profitted off our miseries need to rebuild Africa, the same way amerikkka give so much to isreal."

My response: Well, that's the best idea for reparations I've heard in a great while. Repeat, I don't think any is actually needed (particularly not the "40 acres and mule" type). But it so very, very true that the powerful nations of the world should make it their responsibility to help build up the continent of Africa. That is the worst case of colonialism in a millennium. Some nations only got their independence in the as recent as 50 years ago, and their land was purposely left ravaged. All that the Western world has done is rob and rape an entire continent and race of people.

That one is too deep and hurtful to think about. But the chances of that type of reparations are slim. You hear promises all the time, but nothing is really done. That's because the powerful nations are in cahoots with the dictators of each country to continue raping and robbing the people.

Sad.

It's good for us who are in USA to remember Africa. It would be selfish of us to only think about when our "rebate" checks are coming.

@Bigup

I agree. A black presidency will eventually be ammo for those that dismiss black suffering.

@React

I know where you're going. LOL! I'm not touching that one today. I got work to do and Brooklyn B will wrestle me to the ground on that. LMAO!

@Brooklyn B

Expecting reparations of the sort you describe is like expecting a bully to pay for your dental work after kicking out your teeth. Would be nice but if he was that nice he wouldn't have kicked your teeth out in the first place. Chris Webber can never go back in time and not call a time out in the finals. You learn from your mistake and move forward. The alternative is to drive yourself mad about things beyond your control.

I'm out. Got a flight to catch and some last minute running around to do.

Peace!

@ React and others:

A rebate check of some sort (respectfully in my view) would be like spitting in our ancestors' face given our current mindset. The only positive thing that would come out of giving us in our current mindset a large gov’t pay check is that we would economically revitalize the car, clothing and entertainment industries and shortly there after return to the status we were the day before we received the check in the mail.

We need total repair and to do that it is going to take about 100 years and an open check book with alot of blank checks.

One last thing. On the topic of colonialism and Africa check out Dr. Author Lewis on Youtube. He has a fascinating 13pt lecture on the tube. The brother is brilliant.

Well, I very much believe that there are Whites (especially in the Northeast regions) that in the back of their minds feel themselves to be more noble for choosing Barack over Hillary. I especially saw this during my time in DC. Some people may be doing it with sincerity, some as a subconscious reflex of "White guilt."

So, although it doesn't equate to being mailed a check with the note saying, "Sorry we treated you like sh*t for 400 years" it may be a form of reparation as far as perception is concerned.

The country would have a Black president, and everyone would feel good about themselves, saying "See, we're not racist and evil after all!"

My POV:
No formal legislated effort is need to bring about reparations.
Opportunity is open for everyone
The racial issues that remain must be dealt with on a state level.

I actually salute Clinton’s efforts to having a national discussion of race. The only place he error at was he had too many middle class Negroes represented the voice of the whole. If you really want to have a real discussion bring in all voices (even the vilest racists) and make honesty he only pre-requisite for participation and then you can begin to collect the real data needed to address the problem.

The other thing you have to look at if you really want to address the problem is the capitalistic structure. The way capitalism work is it have a graduated component of prosperity and poverty and if you conducted a regression analysts you would probably find that race promotes the regressive progression (I know that is an oxymoron but not in this case) of the capitalistic graduated scale of poverty and race followed gender are the two most influential variables influencing the progressive movement of the graduated scale leading to prosperity. And so you can’t destroy the system because to do that is to destroy the nation. So this is why the social phenomena of race in the western world fascinates me and that is why it always in my dialogue. I mean it is basically an unsolvable problem or a complex problem to solve because of the economic infrastructure of this nation.

They way the nation is designed you must have niggers for it to be efficient and proficient. Our collective rise to prosperity in America will only mean that we have arrived at a place where if we want to continue to prosper we now must treat the group who is now occupying our former position like Niggers and second class citizens. To be honest with you the American culture is designed to make more individualistic and less clannish. Anyway I would love to meet the person who can fix America’s race problem because who ever that person is they area genius.

It's like saying for all the way we degraded you entire race and ancestry, here's 15 grand - no hard feelings, aight! What? That's not enough, alright 20!

There's not enough money in the world to compensate what has been done. And as already pointed out, there's much repair to do psychologically nevermind just money. But affirmative action is a good idea because, due to racial demographics, Blacks tend to need more assistance and motivation to succeed in the collegiate level. I'm all for it because I believe EDUCATION is the answer to the cycle of poverty. Not just having a degree so you can work in a particular field. But having the knowledge that refutes a lot of the close-mindedness many seem to have.

We should all be more conscious of the continent of Africa. And it would be great if the powerful nations of the world felt some form of "empirical guilt" over colonialism.

Belief in God 'childish,' Jews not chosen people: Einstein letter

May 13 08:24 AM US/Eastern

Albert Einstein described belief in God as "childish superstition" and said Jews were not the chosen people, in a letter to be sold in London this week, an auctioneer said Tuesday.

The father of relativity, whose previously known views on religion have been more ambivalent and fuelled much discussion, made the comments in response to a philosopher in 1954.

As a Jew himself, Einstein said he had a great affinity with Jewish people but said they "have no different quality for me than all other people."

"The word God is for me nothing more than the expression and product of human weaknesses, the Bible a collection of honourable, but still primitive legends which are nevertheless pretty childish."

"No interpretation no matter how subtle can (for me) change this," he wrote in the letter written on January 3, 1954 to the philosopher Eric Gutkind, cited by The Guardian newspaper.

The German-language letter is being sold Thursday by Bloomsbury Auctions in Mayfair after being in a private collection for more than 50 years, said the auction house's managing director Rupert Powell.

In it, the renowned scientist, who declined an invitation to become Israel's second president, rejected the idea that the Jews are God's chosen people.

"For me the Jewish religion like all others is an incarnation of the most childish superstitions," he said.

"And the Jewish people to whom I gladly belong and with whose mentality I have a deep affinity have no different quality for me than all other people."

And he added: "As far as my experience goes, they are no better than other human groups, although they are protected from the worst cancers by a lack of power.

Otherwise I cannot see anything 'chosen' about them.

"Previously the great scientist's comments on religion -- such as "Science without religion is lame, religion without science is blind" -- have been the subject of much debate, used notably to back up arguments in favour of faith.

Powell said the letter being sold this week gave a clear reflection of Einstein's real thoughts on the subject.

"He's fairly unequivocal as to what he's saying. There's no beating about the bush," he told AFP.

what erks me it our lack of unity. and to go back to sharpton and to play off someting nimrod said,
how dope would it have been if abner, diallos fam and other victims of police brutality was there to show support, how powerful would that have been to hear they was locked up to and the media having to replay in the easily forgotten minds of amerikkkans how often these acts are. but its hard to show a continuous pattern when the other "examples" isnt willing to help. where is the unity i ask.
-
black amerikkkans (and i hate to use that term cause my father is trini and it sound so degrading) are told that africans dont like us or think of us as africans, guess what, chad and sudan ended there relationship and closed off each others boarder which had me thinking, do africans from other countries even look at each other as africans?
-
to many of us want a right now solution, but just like OUR country wasnt carved up in a day, us being used to slavery wasnt done in a day, we cant expect change to happen in a day. im 27 and u couldnt have told me that there would be a black prez, hell tupac couldnt phathom seeing a black prez, theres a foward motion going on with us as a people but to many of us mentally cant except it, but you know what there was blacks that couldnt except the end of slavery, martin not malcolm, the panthers not garvey. change is coming my people, and thats real talk.

The problem of thinking of Africans as Africans is that it is coming from an European mindset. First of all, we all ways talk about Africa as a country but Africa is made up of many countries with many different people. We always try to group everyone as Black there but when it comes to African reality, they seperate each other by tribes. This being said, when the Europeans didn't take that into consideration and split the continent into countries, they actually created conflicted within the African community. Rwanda would be a good example of this. So if an African doesn't think of as one of them, it is because we are not apart of a specific tribe and with all the mixing that occur here in the US, they are pretty much right. We are only joined to them mainly by skin color. We have our lives. They have theirs.

R. Kelly can always count on his women
These fans are young, black -- and brainwashed
May 13, 2008

BY MARY MITCHELL Sun-Times Columnist
I can think of only one reason young black women would go down to 26th and California and rally around R&B singer R. Kelly...

Ignorance.

Although the women who rallied last Friday outside of the courthouse live in a metropolitan area, they are as ignorant about what constitutes appropriate sexual behavior as the women who were locked away on the polygamous compound in Eldorado, Texas.

Actually, I have more respect for the women from the polygamous compound.

At least the old men they are supporting are accused of marrying the underage girl -- not videotaping sexual acts that included urinating on girls.

But the African-American women who are publicly supporting Kelly and the white women from the compound have a lot in common.

Both have been brainwashed into thinking deviant sexual behavior is normal.

When I talked about the upcoming R. Kelly trial during a recent segment of "Chicago Speaks," a radio program I co-host on Sunday mornings, several black women defended Kelly and blamed the alleged victim, pointing out that today's 14-year-old girls are developed physically.

This flawed logic is repeated by at least one person whenever the R&B star is criticized for his alleged sexual misconduct.

Publicist stuck by him -- until recently
Frankly, the tolerance for older men having sex with underage girls in segments of the black community is one reason too many children are born into impoverished circumstances.

Because adults fail to see these older men as sexual predators, they end up blaming the minor girls for the inappropriate sexual contact.

It should be as unacceptable in the black community for older men to have sex with these physically mature but emotionally immature females as it is for older men to marry underage girls at a polygamous compound.

Last Friday, some black women who ought to have known better made a spectacle of themselves. Who got them there is anyone's guess.

But six years ago, Kelly could count on his longtime publicist, Regina Daniels, to gather a busload of supporters -- with kids in tow -- to cheer Kelly's jailhouse appearance.

That relationship recently soured when Daniels and her husband, George Daniels, broke ties with Kelly over an "inappropriate relationship" Kelly allegedly had with their daughter.

That controversy spiraled into an ugly mess that had the Kelly camp trotting out the same excuse Kelly used every time he was forced to settle a civil suit brought by a woman who claimed to have had sex with the singer when she was underage -- the Danielses were trying to get a chunky cash settlement.

Although the Danielses' daughter was an adult at the time, there is something unsavory, not to mention unwise, about Kelly having a relationship with a woman he has known since she was a young girl.

The fact that even the Danielses ended up having to cut Kelly loose apparently didn't deter his fans.

They outnumbered his detractors, 10-1.

Performed for Black Caucus
Najee Ali, project director of L.A.-based Project Islamic HOPE, was not surprised.

"When we protested years ago, we noticed that we had adults trying to blame the young girl," Ali said. "They crucified her, while Kelly's career has continued to skyrocket. He has been on the A-list for every event and an honored guest at parties.

"He performed for the Congressional Black Caucus and walked down the red carpet to see 'The Color Purple,' a play about sexual assault. I've had to see all of this over the years and had to shake my head with disgust. It is clear that he has a problem."

Obviously, Kelly is innocent until proven guilty and no one is suggesting otherwise.

But the Kelly case is bigger than one underage girl who was exploited by a popular celebrity. The charges against Kelly put the spotlight on a sickness that has been ignored too long.

Ironically, while Texas officials raided a polygamous compound to stop older men from marrying underage girls, underage black girls are being impregnated every day by older black men, and these men are rarely held accountable.

A jury will decide Kelly's guilt.

Under the circumstances, black women should be taking a "you-got-yourself-into-it-now-you-get-yourself-out" attitude.

Actually, I have more respect for the women from the polygamous compound.

McAuliffe says media in the tank for Obama Campaign 2008

[ET]Terry McAuliffe, campaign chairman for Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton (D-N.Y.), said Tuesday that the former first lady is hamstrung by a biased media.

“Clearly it has been a biased media, no question about it,” McAuliffe said on Fox News.

When asked how much of the mainstream media is “in the tank” for Sen. Barack Obama (Ill.), who leads Clinton in the race for the Democratic nomination, McAuliffe estimated that about 90 percent of the media favor Obama.

“It is what it is. We’re not complaining,” he stated.

“We have to deal with the hand we’re dealt with.”

McAuliffe added that “every independent study has said that this is the most biased coverage they’ve ever seen in a presidential campaign.”

He also praised Fox News, which is often viewed as a conservative media outlet, as “one of the most responsible in this presidential campaign.”
