Mazzi is my peoples. And shout out to Young Sav, who's been nothing but supportive.

Now I saw this video hours after it was released, but before I posted it I wanted to #1, find out if this bitch on the other line was really Mic "Terror," and #2, sit and think of how to clown and disrespect Mic for allowing the dude HE DISSED to SON him over the phone the way Mazzi did. Two days later I still can't find the words to describe the kind of damage this dose of ether did to him (although I also feel pity) so f*ck it. Here it is...

Via URB:

“I saw NWA do it, I saw Ice Cube do it. But I didn’t know how it was going to come or from who. And that was interesting. And that inspired me more. I didn’t just want to write one opinion on one thing. I wanted to really absorb a lot of shit. It wouldn’t have been fair to rush the album out just because I can get in the studio for three weeks and [make a record]…I’m not the motherf*cking Mr. Professor or nothing, either, but I didn’t realize how ignorant motherf*ckers was until I announced the title of the album."

This interview obviously took place before he was forced to change the title of his album.

greenlantern-.jpg

Popular turntablist DJ Green Lantern spoke to Rhapsody in regards to MTV’s “Hottest MCs” list:

"I hate using the word 'hot.' What the hell do you mean 'hot'? Popular? Relevant? Talented? Be specific. I see what it is, which is an attention-getting thing for MTV. Alright look, everybody look over here and comment. I’ve been in this game so f*ck*ng long, I’m not about to have a heated argument over whether Jay-Z or Lil Wayne should be number two or number three. They’re all very successful. I just love the fact that motherf*ck*ng Andre 3000 is on that list. He’s hot to me ‘cause he’s a super-lyrical dude. Sh*t, I would’ve put Devin the Dude on there."

marleyMarl-KRS.jpg

One of New York Power 105’s DJs, old school Juice Crew great Marley Marl, is using other outlets other than his current gig on the radio station to stay relevant. How? He’s using the internet.

This Friday the legendary pioneer will take what was the old version of his radio show, called "Future Flavas Radio"â€"which was launched and developed on Hot 97 by Marl and Pete Rock in ‘94 and first hosted by KRS ONEâ€"and re-launch it via the previously established website FutureFlavasRadio.com. According to Thuglifearmy, the site will be supported by both today’s most popular up-and-coming and established DJs who are driven by one force: reconnecting with the global fanbase.

Hahaha... this Rocsi-(supposedly)-being-an-industry-jump-skeezy business is kind of funny. But what's even funnier is the way 50 Cent is showing his soft side by destroying the BET VJ's reputation. N*gga, you mad cause she said your CD is trash? Which it was...

It's understandable that hurt pride causes a man to get disrespectful with the mouth, but now he's pulling the string on his two little puppets-- Lloyd Banks and Tony Yayo-- as shown in this video talking to a DJ named Peter Parker {watch}.

CoonFlav.jpg

I saw the commercial for Flava Flav's sitcom "Under One Roof" yesterday. Next to the lineup of shows for the evening they had the former Public Enemy's picture with his mouth wide open and his fronts all out, just like a black slave posing for the slave masters and their friends. And I thought the only coons that existed were the Southern rappers like Lil' Jon, Three 6 Mafia, Chamillionaire, and others who like to open their mouths up wide in the camera with their grillz flashing to and frow. But then, Flava Flav let VH1 make a minstrel show monkey out of him with that TV series he did with that white girl, and then came "Flavor of Love." Two or three seasons, matter of fact. Now this "Under One Roof" business. I'm glad I wasn't able to stay home long enough to watch it.

I'd like to believe that Flav is steady accepting these producers' offers because he's a crackhead and needs the money. And I'd also like to believe that he's acting this way because it's in his character. But the truth is, the producers are-- and have been-- egging him on because they think it's funny to watch, and it's funny to make fun of blacks-- and be able to do it nationally. And it's f*cked up to know that minstrel shows still exist.

Saigon_42361.jpg

I saw this coming. Atlantic didn't do a damn thing to push him. Guess he's not generic enough.

Via Sai's Myspace blog:

“Sometimes in the game you get tired. You get uninspired by the bullsh*t records that aint really sayin sh*t… no disrespect to yall that make those but sometimes, yall records don’t be sayin sh*t.”

"I. WILL. NOT. LOSE... uh... yeah."

I had previously (and wrongfully) stated that Nas' "Be a Nigger Too" raving the airwaves was a sign that he had some strong arm regulation over at IDJ. But now Nas is suddenly changing his album title from N*gger to (the rumored) "Nas." His complying with the label can either be looked at as smart-- or the most weak and stupid move he could have ever made in the entire duration of his career.

I'll go with number two.

Someone's been taking notes from Curt.

maino-HIHATER.jpg

The logo. The t-shirts. I've already seen the "Hi Hater" icon surfacing around the net. Looks like someone from his camp heard the song, saw the potential, and went in. What they created: a mean promotional machine. Maino better keep the engine running after this. Hot 97 isn't going to hold him down forever.

The hook is annoying as f*ck. Stupid even. But since I've already heard it on the radio 50 million times, it's catching me. And that's all it takes: a catchy hook. In addition to that, this particular Zshare link has had almost 33,000 downloads.

foxnews.jpg

Damn fam. I said that when Foxy dropped Brooklyn's Don Diva, that nobody would care. But I was wrong. She cared.

Apparently, KOCH didn't wait for Foxy's green light before they put the album in stores... and as a result of that she probably threw a hissy fit, tore up an office, kicked and screamed, and cursed out her manager for allowing this to happen. But according to her, she was just "devastated" and proceeded to hold a meeting with the president of KOCH instead of "dealing with the situation with litigation," a measure she would have taken, she says, "in another phase of her life."

Now this is what the f*ck I'm talking about. This is the stuff that 8 Diagrams should have been made of.

-------> Raekwon & Ghostface "Necro"

Ghostface is a fool for this one.

In part one, we could only make a guess. I said at least 3 to 4. Boy was I wrong.

remy-bride.jpg

Since Remy's going away for eight years-- well, really less than that, of course-- I thought I'd compile a few bars dedicated to what got her on a first class flight to the can:

-------> "I'm leavin until you stop breathin/ Ain't nothin worse than getting popped for no reason/ I wanna see you shot, layed out just leakin/ Your words can't come out cause your mouth keep bleedin/ Your tank top burgundy, your white tee burgundy... " -- Remy Vs. Lady Luck Fight Club battle.

foxy_dondiva.jpg

Um... Foxy just dropped an album today.

"We all African okay so Africans don't like us no way."-- Nas, "Be a N*gger too"

Nas_Kel-Nigger.jpg

I was in the car Friday night and heard Nas talking with DJ Clue. At first he wasn't saying much, then he started talking about his album... then it got interesting.

I've been searching high and low for this audio, and can't find it anywhere.

Saigon still insists his album is going to be equal to or better than Nas' classic Illmatic. But we've heard this before.

Saigon-orng.jpg

"Back in the day, right... remember that term a "sucka MC"? A sucka MC was somebody who is not supposed to be doin it. I'm trying to bring that back to the forefront. If we got rid of these sucka MCs, hip-hop will be hip-hop again. If you come out with a catchy jingle, or a catchy hook, you can put out a record. Now it's like it's so everybody's allowed to bite, n*ggas is stealing n*ggas' flows, style. ... And that's what's making it wack, it became too corporate.

"I think I did it. I think there's certain albums that define hip-hop. ... like Illmatic did. Everybody be like 'yo how you gonna compare your album to Illmatic that's blasphemy.' And I respect that people think like that. ... We need some new sh*t that's gonna define it for now." -- Saigon, PP2G interview

There are two rappers that get on my nerves. And always find a way to get on my nerves.

50_gat.jpg

50 Cent has called you a “whore” repeatedly. Where is your comeback rhyme already?

Lil Whoopie: Man, I have to call him and say thank you. He’s catapulted me. N*gga, white people know me now! Thank you! Diss rhyme? Fcuk no? That n*gga thrives off that. I am not feeding that tiger. I’m smart. Do you see his size? I’m small. I saw a YouTube video of this dude playing a concert; somebody threw water on imâ€"he took off his hat, went in the crowd, grabbed the n*gga and boom! I was like, This n*gga’s the hardest n*gga on planet Earth. So no, I’m not dissing 50. And I’m not throwing water on him, neither.

miss-jonesw235673.jpgHot 97's Miss Jones

This is how you capitalize off of your 15 minutes of fame from being on "Miss Rap Supreme"?

Yawn.

Hot 97 radio host Miss Jones, famous for her ribald morning show, once again makes news for offensive racist slurs. Earlier this week, Miss Jones interviewed the German rapper Lionezz, ostensibly to poke fun at her for being cut from VH1's Miss Rap Supreme. Unfortunately, the tone quickly descended from jokey to racist, as Miss Jones compared Lionezz to the Nazis!

At first, Lionezz rhymed and Miss Jones and her studio mates began cracking jokes. Lionezz has been in the business for almost ten years and is no stranger to criticism. However, these comments were not about skills, they were straight up personal, so Lionezz responded with insults in German. This was apparently too much for the high and mighty Hot 97 staff, so they cut off Lionezz's mic and began slinging racist slurs like "Heil Hitler!" "Shine my boots!" and "Mein Reich siegt!" (Victory to my Reich!).

Lionezz may be German, but she is of Armenian immigrant origin and grew up suffering abuse from the real ethnocentric Neo-Nazis. How ludicrous that Lionezz would cross the ocean to be compared to her enemies by an ignorant American!

Beyond Lionezz, Miss Jones showed her complete disregard for the millions of victims of the Nazi regime, who suffered true political persecution and do not deserve to be cheapened by a music shock jock. Miss Jones has exercised similarly bad judgment in the past, when she was suspended in 2005 for racist comments against Asians after the Tsunami crisis. Miss Jones is supposed to be part of a multicultural art form, but once again, she has abused her platform by spewing racist vitriol, and deserves to be held accountable.

Mazzi of S.O.U.L Purpose got things poppin off with his Jay Electronica and Cool Kids dis, "Lesson A," which targeted bandwagon hipsters and sparked conversation-- and personal attacks on S.O.U.L Purpose -- everywhere.

Last week, I said to stay tuned for the conclusion with "Lesson B" which would feature a surprise guest. And here it is... the video for "Lesson B," featuring none other than Q-Tip.

“I'm in the cell 23 hours a day. Like, some max security. It's real crazy over here.”

First and foremost, TO ALL MINORITIES IN NYC, PLEASE PAY ATTENTION TO THE BELOW TEXT MESSAGE/EMAIL-CIRCULATED ALERT:

"We are shutting down NYC on Saturday, May 3. We urge all minorities not to spend a single dime anywhere in NYC on Saturday; no gas, no food, and NO CLOTHES. RIP Sean."

“Now I got a pager, and the minor rock turned major/ Cause the fiends is lookin for the flavor/ Nice lil run with the crew/ Money wasn’t coming fast as I wanted it to/ So I fell back, took a deep breath, inhaled rap/ Waited for a spot to open up and held that/ Even thought it’s still a lot of bumps in the road, joe/ Everything is well-earned nothing is owed though/…”

“… And me, I’m just fortunate/ To be in it for this long, still scorchin sh*t/ Every verse is food every song is dinner/ I belong with winners only the strongest finish/ So you can be cool or you can wild till the end/ But the same rules apply from now till then.”
