And here's a little surprising info for your Friday morning.

lilkim_source.jpg

After all of the controversy and the popular opinion that "The Source" magazine had fallen off and that nobody reads it anymore -- myself included-- a study surfaced that proved the contrary-- at least as far as advertising goes. While the magazine HAS fallen off in terms of content and length AND cover features (especially when compared to the older issues from back in the '90s-- the late '90s to be more specific), the original Hip-Hop Bible ranked #8 among "all black oriented titles," according to targetmarketnews. "The Source" magazine appears to be lacking in the creative department, but they stepped their game up revenue-wise, as last month's advertising numbers rounded off to $1,967,464-- an 87% increase from March '07's $1,047,690. The rise in revenue appears to be the dominating factor for most of the magazines on the list.

And where does the similarly thin "XXL" rank? ... A close #6. That's it? Yeah. That's it. Despite all that hype they're not doing much better. However, last month's ad revenue tallied in at $2,220,340, a big jump from March '07's $1,620,820.

At first I was surprised to see the ranking between "XXL" and "The Source" so close together, but mainly because of all the negative publicity "The Source" had been facing in the past 5 years. I saw with my own eyes that behind closed doors it was a hot mess, and I was sure Benzino Vs. Eminem and the Kim Osorio situations had ruined a lot of the credibility they once had and that advertisers were steering clear of the magazine because of this. Which would explain why the magazine was so trash. So now that a year's time has proven a turn-around, will they utilize that money to better the brand? No.

Topping the list is "Essence," who pulled in an astounding $19.5 million last month. Not close behind was "Vibe" with $17.5 million and "Ebony" with $10.5 million.

I see a lot of talk about that Stacey Dash cover on "KING." They're sitting close behind "The Source" at #9, by the way.

Shout out to Jumpoff TV's Harold Anthony, who forwarded me this study.

Check out the ending result for AC's "Trapped on the Island," featuring Trife da God. Peace to AC, as always.

Magazines are not making a comeback. Everyone in publishing knows this. Newspapers that print daily are in trouble much less magazines. Vibe has been sold a few times and is on the block now.

Hip Hop's allure and appeal is waning so Essence being on top by such a large margin makes sense. It appeals to mature black professional. Despite attempts to paint a picture of inner-city despair there are lots of pregressive black folks out here.

For all the people who complain about us going off topic consider this. There's somewhere between 1 and 2 dozen bloggers on here regularly and about 9 hardcore ones. At or around 50 posts there's usually nothing more to say on the topic so as the day progresses we drift. Either Sohh can take the time to provide more interesting topics of conversation or give us two lightweight topics a day. The NYC blog gets the most hits on this site and THAT's all they care about. It doesn't get it for the topics 90% time. If the so-called social club were to bounce you log on to see tumble weed on this site. At this point we may be the only thing keeping the lights on with a guaranteed 200-300 hits daily.

Actually despite the ghetto ass mismanagement problems ,disrespect for women, and jerking around of the writers and staff.I liked the old source that was attacking jimmy iovine, and the recording/distrubution industry.those issues were very informative. The new source is ran basically by Black Enterprise who basically swindled dave Mays through predatory lending practices. Those brothers at B.E. Aint NO JOKE and there well connected politically and business wise so I'm not surprised at them being able to keep the mags head above water...

He either points at your car or nods his head like he knows you. You look at him like "do I know this nigga". Your next thought is "why is this nigga roaming around the streets by the liquor store at 9 in the morning". Then, you realize that you don't know him, don't pump the horn, keep driving thinking "I wish that nigga would just get a job". I'm out for the day. After this there will be no other unless a topic drops that makes me interested in dropping some knowledge. Good stuff yesterday, keep it real and keep it positive.

@Atheist

There's a lot of truth to what you said. For the folks at BE to be able to handle Dave Mays (jew) like that was something to see. Then again when you consider Dave lets a clown like Benzino control his every move it's not as impressive. LOL!

Gotta give Benzino credit. He reminds me of the old saying, The fool and the courageous are closely related with only the outcome to distinguish the two.

Benzino didn't destroy Jimmy but he stalled Eminem's career and that started the slide in 50's sales #'. 50 was always a benefactor of Em's popularity. His album was hot but take Em out of the equation and he'd have sold 2m instead of 10. Em's fans were loyal and had disposable income by the truckload. 50 will diss Dre but he pretends to love Em because he knows what's up.

Benzino turned the Source into a Kamikaze plane. He aimed at Jimmy and hurt the entire industry with his crash and burn.

Rolling Stone I believe had wanted to buy the Source for 100m back in the late 90's and Benzino said no. He ended up losing it for short paper.

To corporate America hip hop is Jay and 50 and sometimes Diddy. All these other people talking about what they run aren't even on the radar.

We can thank Benzino for that to a large degree. LOL!

* Prepare to laugh now as I am keeping it extra 100*

I used to work in a Safeway (grocery store) part-time and managers there would let a whole row of people just stand there and read the mags without buying......sort of like downloading the article they wanted to read before buying the whole mag just for like 3 pages. That's killing mag sales, not controversies, not lack of enthusiasm or interesting things to say or write about.

I think what kills the blogs is that one character who hops on and spins the topic off into a homo rant, or a "I'm from this hood, down the street from____" talk. That coupled with the fact that there are very few topics that require a newspaper section to be talked about. If there were multiple blogs for all the different news in NY (like you haven't mentioned Cory Gunz featured on Wayne's song "A Milli" yet.) then you'd get even more hits. Just IMO. EASY

Saturday Night Business Speculation

You know, I’d hate to give the impression that I belong to one of these Internets groups, where nerds get together to discuss various forms of hip-hop media advertising and what have you, but… well, yesterday one of the guys from my hip-hop ads group sent me a link to this list, and it got me to thinking.

The list is a list of ad revenues for black magazines for the month of March, 2008, and their percent change from the same month last year. It was put together by a site called Target Market News, a trade publication for black marketing professionals, which purports to be “the black consumer market authority.”

Um, yeah.

For example, the lonely black woman’s bible, Essence, which is apparently the top-ranking black magazine in terms of ad revenue, raked in about $19 million in ad revenue last month, up from about $14 million in March of 2007 - a 39.1% increase.

Hmm…

I could describe the list for you in more detail, but you’re probably better off just checking it out for yourself.

‘Essence’ ranks No.1 in ad revenues for March; ‘The Green’ has biggest gain

A few things I should note about this list, before we go any further:

First of all, I’d never heard of Target Market News before until just now. It could very well be the case that it’s actually a front for an online prostitution ring, like that site, the Panache Report, that puts together those lists of the wealthiest individuals in hip-hop.

Also, I wonder how Target Market News would even know how much each of these magazines makes each month in ad revenue. Supposedly, these figures come from estimations by the Media Economics Group, but it doesn’t say who they are or how they would know.

That said, I thought the most interesting thing about the list is the fact that The Source makes about as much in ad revenue as XXL, my would-be benefactor. This time last year, The Source was only pulling in about a million dollars a month in ad revenue, but this year they’ve experienced an 88% increase, to draw about even with XXL for March of 2008, i.e. last month.

Really?

I guess I had never given it much thought, never having been privy to either of these magazine’s financial information, but I would’ve thought for certain that XXL would be pulling in way more money in ad revenue than The Source. Why else would XXL put these god-awful corporate rappers on its cover month after month, while The Source will put seemingly any ol’ bullsh!t on its cover?

I thought that was supposed to count for something, but apparently I was mistaken.

Of course it used to be the case that some of the companies wouldn’t advertise with The Source at all, back when Benzino was still in the building. XXL had already been around for a few years at that point, but I thought it really started to pick up steam when Dave Mays and Benzino went on their little jihad against Eminem, and the TIs at Interscope decided to pull their ad money from The Source. I think it even says as much in the Wikipedia entry for XXL.

I remember a couple of years ago, when The Source was struggling to recover from the Mayzino era and it looked like it might even go out of business. They put out a special anniversary issue, which wasn’t actually special in the least bit, and then they just kinda up and disappeared for a while. A few months later, I picked up a new issue, and there was a big-azz ad in the front of it, where the editor in chief basically begged the TIs to start spending money with them again.

I guess it worked.

I’m assuming that the reason why the ad revenue for the two magazines is roughly the same is that they both cater to roughly the same demographic, and these record labels and makers of silly-looking ghetto clothes and what have you aren’t gonna spend more money with either magazine to reach essentially the same group of people.

I know the “reach” of each magazine, based on its newsstand sales and subscriber base plays into it, but I’m not sure to what extent. Based on these figures, I’d say that neither one of these magazines is selling enough copies to have any kind of meaningful advantage over the other in terms of ad revenue.

At any rate, I’d say these figures definitely provide some fascinating insight into the business side of the hip-hop magazine game. Here’s a few conclusions I managed to draw from them based - I’ll admit - mostly on conjecture and my usual bullsh!t.

1) Now you can see why the TIs at Harris have been busy cleaning shop as of late. For all of the times that XXL has put Fiddy Cent on the cover, it hasn’t really been dominating The Source, now has it? It basically is The Source, just with classier art design.

2) Putting out a classier magazine, however, costs money. Keep in mind that the figures on this list are just ad revenues for the month, not profits. It’d be interesting to see how much of that $2 million each of these companies is left with once they get done paying people.

3) The Source, in that sense, might actually be in a better position, since they already have a reputation for not paying people, and I believe they’ve had it arranged so that they’re no longer accountable for paying all of the people that Dave Mays and Benzino stiffed over the years.

4) Furthermore, the last time I picked up an issue of The Source, its list of contributors looked like some of the bums who used to write for AllHipHop. I don’t even think it has an editor in chief - though I’ve never been sure what an editor in chief does, other than write those dumbazz editorials.

5) Speaking of which, I would imagine this sheds some light on the pressure XXL’s former editor in chief was facing, before he got dropped like a bad habit. I’m sure it pained him to have to put Lil’ Wayne on the cover every other month. He was probably just at a loss for other ways to increase XXL’s brand image in the mind of the consumer.

Finally, I should note that these figures don’t include online revenue. Obviously that wouldn’t be much of an issue for The Source, since they don’t have much of a website. But one of the guys from my group, who might be somewhat privy to XXL’s online advertising dealings, estimates XXL’s online ad revenue as being maybe 1/6th or 1/10th of its revenue from print advertising.’

If that’s the case, I’d imagine this site must do pretty well for the TIs at Harris, since I can’t imagine it costs very much money to operate it. The hosting fees, I would imagine, are fairly negligible; and the banal q&a interviews posted in the features section, Noz once told me, are all written by bum-azz college students who are willing to work for free, under the impression that it might help boost their careers in hip-hop journalism.

I would call them all suckers, but I’m hardly in any position to gloat

Hello, my screwy scientific, intellectual blogging friends.
It's good to see the "Source" magazine still in press, Hip Hop needs it's presence.
The net is phenomenal, but that personal touch is indeed making a comeback.
Actually, an S.O.H.H magazine would be The Bomb!

@G-Unot Killa.
Shut the F U C K up already you whine and complain worse than a B I T C H on her rag. You lose you B I T C H you. Where is Reckless gettin this info from? Cause eveybody knows some Hip Hop mags are doing horrible. Thanks to some lousy editors who don't post nuthing about Hip Hop in this site. They pretty much post Hatred torwards LiL Wayne Saigon Papoose Fat Joe and then D I C K ride Jay-Z. So when stuff like that gets post bloggers like Ereal Dre Guevara PZ nimrod and the same usual blogger come in and give their opinions and some like G-Unot killa! Emotions errupt or you have ignorant bloggers like Timmy D who thinks he knows other bloggers cause some one is either telling the truth or giving their opinion on Jay-Z so he shows his personal emotion that he feels torward Jay-Z wich by means "Hurt" same with 50 fat joe and so on wich by the way that's why the NY blogg gets hit up like that. The left side don't get hit up big cause they post nuthing good. Just Hate Hate and more Hate and west coast post m E-soap operah drama more interesting than general hospital and mexican novelas. dirty, sometimes, ATL, Gyant got too excited when he got a Jay-Z snap shot. Official boring! ya heard, lies or read it off of somewhere and pure HATING. The rest of the bloggs not interested!

What's good usuals? I remember when The Source held weight in the Hip Hop community. It was like a blessing to be bestowed with the 5 mic rating!!! Ahh the good old days! Nowadays they are struggling to regain their credibility. Occasionally they have something that interests me but not often. I'd rather read As Is or Don Diva or Feds. Yall stay up though and have a good weekend.

Wow,you surprised me today.muscle actually has a thought other than his eerie erotic obsession with trying to put others down to make himself feel better.

Anyway, can you tell your friend reckless to cover new artist that we've actually heard of and stop shoving these non descript guyz down our throats.this is not hiphopgame.com.

For example: the Bk rapper that goes by the name of NEWS

He's f*ckin with irv gotti and the inc. And people actually know him because he's somewhat considered to be apart of the new new york movement, but I don't think I've heard one peep about him since I've started bloggin here.

Oh! i forgot!

You have to be a somewhat talented but yet unsuccessful artist that no one has heard of who has a throwback style to the mid 90's Wu/Mobb deep era, preferably a latino right?

Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight!

I mean that's all good I don't have a prob with that but gooooood d@mn!

You would think sohhnyc is just as corrupt as hot 97 the way reckless force feeds the same no name in the streets havin a$$ rappers down our throats on a daily basis.

If you've been watching the comments you'll notice that NONE of our opinions have changed about these rappers no matter how much of they're music reckless plays,LoL!

Again This is not hiphopgame.com

Who are all of these played out style havin a$$ rappers like AC,terminology, and what's the other losers name I forget,oh ummmmmmm,sh*t,oh yea Tyme Sqware...

Tymes Skware and Fever have a nice little movement going on in The Bronx.
"Us Or Nothing" is hitting kinda heavy on Gun Hill and Allerton Ave.
Termanology is a very nice M.C,, i know you guys are a bit bi-partisan when it come to lighter shade rappers but Term is official.
AC is kinda nice too.
They are just caught in a time warp production wise.
If they were to get with someone like say "The Heatmakers" or "Street Runners" they would definitely garner a little more loyal following, but they are paying homage to an golden era.
Fever is mos def going to make some noise, The Bronx & Harlem are going to lock the industry down.
And oh yeah, my radical opinions & facts are only expressed when i am in the presence of un-righteous individuals.
Peace, i am going to bed.

@ Muscle Simmons

Nah we show love to Term, Joell Ortiz. They put in work. You're the only PR Nazi on here making ridiculous racist statements full of misplaced hate on a regular basis.
Honestly I'm not into E-Beef, That's just a tool used for people to vent their hate without physical confrontation.
I'm not on here to go back and forth with you(or anybody like you) but you seriously need to fall back on that bullshit. If you are intelligent and have morals, self respect, and believe in karma then you'd realize that someday you'll have to face the manifestation of all of the hateful words you put out for the world to witness.

@Muscle Simmons

SOHH magazine?! Surely you jest. Who would buy it? Sohh can't even get more than 2 dozen regulars to visit the site for free.

The Bx and Harlem lock down hip hop? Never happened and never will. Even in the beginning of commercial rap the Bx let 3 dudes from NJ steal their shine. Ironically they were called the Sugarhill Gang. LOL! That's the closest the Bx and Harlem ever came to locking the game down.

Your excuse for saying the things you say is just that. An excuse. If you read this blog we go HARD at everybody including our own kind. I'm black and I'm harder on blacks than anyone. I catch heat for criticizing hip hop, Tupac and black complacency on here. If you read the blog you should know there are some very opinionated people here and no one singles latinos out. Tymes Skware who is very dark received as much if not more criticism than Term or AC. You're just sensitive and you obviously have a lot you wanna get off your chest.

I got no beef with Ricans but I do point out on a reg that Peter "Pistol Pete" Torres is a fraud and the real Pistol Pete is from Soundview and black. I have also said Ricans run the Bx and that my experiece is when Ricans outnumber blacks they tend to switch up how they deal with us. Now you can argue that I'm wrong but there's nothing inherently racist about those observations/facts.

Basically by expressing yourself as you do you confirmed what many already felt. In your own countries (I know PR is not a country) you discrimate against your darker countrymen so to pretend it doesn't exist when dealing with non spanish speaking blacks is absurd. We detect it and you can't be mad at us for that. Change what you put out and our reaction to you will change.

Anyway, for someone to feel like you do and work in hip hop is hilarious and a MAJOR part of the problem. The ARTISTRY of hip hop is rooted predominantly in black style and swagger that you not only have no appreciation of but there's no respect either. We originated the thing you are passionate about. That's why it's so hard for people who aren't black to dominate despite 85% hip hop consumers being white. We may not control the rap industry but the end product still requires OUR stamp of approval or it won't fly.

PR's like yourself say Pun was the best rapper ever and in reality he was top 20 AT BEST. You'll call me racist for that but I also think BIG was top 20 at best. (In front of Pun of course)

Bottom line is you are what we always suspected you to be. No surprises there.

Nimrod, i was born in The Bronx in an era when Hip Hop was just in a cocoon evolving into a most colorful butterfly that no one thought in their wildest dreams would ever blossom into.
Yes, i am a Proud Puerto Rican, and no i am not a Nazi.
I remember my childhood vividly, my first best and closest friend was a Black kid named "Charlie Rock" when we met we did not see Black or Puerto Rican we just saw each other as two kids in the same ghetto facing the same ills of society.
Sh*t , i didn't even know i was Puerto Rican until black kids in The Bronx started calling me "Goya Bean" "Mira MIra" or "Roach Killer".
My first experience with racism unfortunately was with Black kids, and i didn't even know racism existed until black kids viciously spewed their racial slurs at me.
But, i soon saw that was just a few of the black kids that did that to me ,the majority of black people accepted me for being Puerto Rican and more importantly respected me as a Puerto Rican.
I can truly vouch as a witness that Puerto Ricans were side by side with blacks when Hip Hop was being birthed, and more importantly contributed heavily to it's design.
Ask any black person from that era who lived in The South Bronx, and they will tell you that Puerto Ricans were setting the five elements of Hip Hop Off side by side with black kids.
Yes, there were wars between "The Black Spades" a major black gang, and the "Savage Nomads" a major Puerto Rican gang but that is natural for any location where different races are jockeying for position.
We as peoples trancended the gang mentality in The Bronx with the help of "Afrika Bambaataa" from (Bronx River) who was an ex Black Spade that created "The Mighty Zulu Nation" which was the flyest Hip Hop crew in New York City for one simple fact, it's members were predominantly Black and Puerto Rican with other races sprinkled in.
The Mighty Zulu Nation proved that Black and Latinos together were a force to be reckoned with, and all other major crews in New York City from that area relished in awe of that fact.
Yes, i have spewed some vile words in this blog, but those words are just the blueprint of the revolutionary beginnings that are shaping the Puerto Rican man's identity.
The same revolutionary thoughts that helped shape black pride and uniqueness will as well shape the Puerto Rican man.
True we are not a race, but to no avail we are distinct human beings that unite under one flag, and therefore we make our identity known and respected.
I, have gaged you guys in childish racist retorts only to be a mirror of who you really are.
It is time you take responsibility for the racist remarks you make towards every other race with wanton disregard, and be self evident that you are a problem.
My words and views have received major criticism here, but yet when you guys spew hate, you all band together and laugh like some exclusive country club clan mocking people that cannot be part of your club.
Wow, it's 9:26 am and i need to write more, but i must go to work for half a day today, but i will most definitely finish speaking my mind later today.
With all due respect, peace out brethren.

Rise and shine SOHH
@ Simmons
You say by making childish racist remarks you are being a mirror of how Blacks treat others. That is not accurate at all. Not here anyway. I've been reading this blog for months now and commenting regularly for about 3 weeks now. You rarely hear any of the regs say any racial slurs!! Mostly its stans with the stupidity or characters pretending to be someone they're not. There are some very sharp brothers in here and I have NEVER heard anybody utter the word spic or such until you came in here verbally attacking people of African ascent!!! It seems to me you resent the Black kids who you said used to tease you and you're using this forum to get back at any Blacks. Don't take out on us what happened years ago in your childhood. If you truly have no malice towards all Blacks then you should change your approach. Otherwise you're doing nothing more than making enemies.

@The Layer

Thank you. My criticisms are unilateral. I call bullshit where I see it and ethnicity provides no escape. The crazy thing is the assholes who come on here consistently with blatantly disrespectful talk don't strike me as black. Muscle Simmons compares the actions of callous kids to that of adults. For every example he can give there are countless others of PR's coming together to not call names but inflict bodily damage based on race. My experience is Ricans need only see a conflict between a black and Rican and they'll intervene on the Rican's behalf with no regard for who's at fault. I still don't hold anything against them I simply understand how they move and safeguard against it. Black people are the most accepting of any ethnic group. When immigrants first enter America it's in our community they historically land because no one else other than their own would have them. Look at the Japanese reggae artists and sound systems, european rappers we embrace, white soul singers, etc. We allow and accept everyone yet they only remember isolated incidents of taunting and violence. I'm sick of that.

You're also right, I've never seen any of the regs call latinos a spic or any other derogatory name. We have mature discussions about how WE see the world and it makes people uncomfortable. I saw Muscle say things meant to cause pain not teach lessons so I don't accept that rationale.

Muscle Simmons is not stupid but he says stupid things and then offer even dumber reasoning to support his actions. I understand his experiences scarred him. Once, back in the day me and some friends got into an argument with some Ricans over a parking space. No racial insults were exchanged but a fait amount of fcuk you and tough talk was exchanged. We ended up with the spot but later that night our tire came off because "someone" loosened our lugs. LOL! Do I use that as a reason to hate Ricans? Hell naw! We could've died over nothing. We drove to Long Island speeding all the way and not until we got off the ramp did the tire come off. We laugh about that to this day. What's with all the sensitive MEN these days? Things like that used to make us tough not leave us in need of therapy.

@Muscle Simmons

First off the so-called 5 elements of hip hop are nothing more than a clever attempt to package and market the 70's. Rappers and DJ's go hand in hand and not many know the DJ was the original start of the show. Not everyone who liked rap took part in Grafitti or breaking. They were very different fads that coexisted at the same time and sometimes overlapped. They also consisted of very different types of people.

Furthermore, rap as it existed in the BX quickly evolved but the Bx couldn't keep up. Manhattan keep on making it, Brooklyn keep on taking, Bronx keep creating it but Queens ELEVATED it.

Hip hop today bares hardly any resemblemce to what was created in the Bx and that's why impact players from the Bx who stick to the old blueprint will NEVER win. It's as if the Bx invented the wheel and Queens created the automobile. There could be no car without the wheel but once the car comes no one remembers the inventor of the wheel. LOL!

All I'm gonna say is Russel Simmons and Run-DMC. First to tour arenas, first on MTV, first on Yo MTV, first on Rolling Stone, first Worldwide hip hop tours. Take Queens from the equation and hip hop would have died in the parks and house parties of the BX 30yrs ago!

Yeah you guys created hip hop but your actions since makes it look like an accident. LOL!

Just having fun with you Muscle. Don't go in on me. LOL! My flight is boarding gotta run. I'm interested in your response.

Despite all the foul things you SAID I can kick it with you because I care more about actions than words. I'm grown so I no I can't control the thoughts people have or the word they speak. I wait for them to believe their own bulshit then I let that ass "cash the check" they let their mouth write. LOL!

1

It's so callous of you guys to say that not once on this blog you ever read someone using the term "Spic", because, quite frankly that word is used here frequently.
Secondly, my hat goes off to "Run D MC" for being the real first big Hip Hop act to do all as you say they did, but you seem to forget that they were stepchildren to a style they mimicked, by being regulars at a well known Hip Hop spot in The Bronx called "The Fever".
Ask Joey Simmons, or Darrell Mack where they developed their persona from, and they will tell you that they took every inch of swagger & style from Bronx street icons of that time who frequented "The Fever".
Queens, definitely did elevate the game, but let's be truthful "The Bronx" is the wind beneath the wings of any region that practices Hip Hop.
Lastly, in closing, i just want to say Big Ups to the "Mighty Zulu Nation".
We were one big crew that got along whether we were Black or Puerto Rican, or any other race.
Bambaataa, wherever you are, i want to say thank you for bringing together all races in the ghetto back in the day.
Also "Bam" i would like to thank you for all the Park jams in The Bronx and in the Schools that you brought forth, as it enriched & elevated my soul with Hip Hop excellence.
Be well, one and all..........

@Muscle Simmons

I've seen derogatory terms but they were directed at Mexicans not PR's not that that makes it any better.

I don't resort to those things so I'll only speak for myself. Even when I read your posts I didn't go there. That's kiddie stuff man.

This site can be pretty hostile towards everyone and everything and it can sometimes turn into a free for all. Whenever I see it going in that direction I try to inject reason and logic but I'm not perfect either and sometimes I engage in sillyness.

Anyway, I hope to see you make positive contributions like I know you're capable of. We've got enough assholes on here who can't help themselves. It'd be a waste to join their ranks.

1.

That's what i'm talking about "Nimrod'.
Nuff respect baby pa.
Peace and blessings.

Peace Nimrod, you're welcome. Yeah I see that Simmons has some issues stemming back to his youth. We all do. But the proper way to deal with them is not to come into this forum and start attacking Blacks. We had nothing to do with that. You can't generalize a whole race based on the actions of a few. And I've personally never called him a spic (that I recall) even when we went at it. You Nimrod are a very sharp brother. You can be brutally honest and are critical even of some of our most loved and respected figures. Its all good though everyone should be able to withstand criticism. I see like you said that no one is excluded regardless of ethnicity. SOHH should post blogs on the weekend too. I anxiously await seeing what food for thought some of you brothers are speaking on everyday.

Oh yeah.... Reckless or whoevers in charge, yall need to put a stop to the stans who post kiddie porn and long ass bible passages and things. Its probably driven some of the readers away. I heard females used to post in here but now that's a rarity. Do that and the site will improve dramatically! Pardon the double post above.

Peace 2 The Usuals
