OK OK on the real now. I Think NYOIL is wrong. Simply because the word 'N....' nas been used by many many black entertainers including hiphop artists and comdians frequently use that word. Back to Nas again? The people who talk about listening to the album first are in their own little world. This isn't about MUSIC much less HIS music but some of you are so caught up in hip hop you can't see the forrest for the trees.

I like some of Nas' work. I don't think N*gger is a good tittle. However, I don't think naming the album that will have a profound effect one way or the other. Like I said before, I doubt the album will ever come out and if it does it won't sell so the risk of copy cats are minimal.

Nas is like 40yrs late with his battle against the word. Right now we're facing food shortages, war, a depression, unemployment, skyrocketing gas prices and so on yet people like Nas and his supporters imagine themselves landing a blow for civil rights. Talk about too little too late! All the while, real life goes on while these psuedo-militants/intellectuals bury their heads in the sand. Nice. Where's Soulja Boy when you need him? At least there's no mistaking him for what he is.

If that's your way of getting the saint to respond, than you need to work on your people skills. Through out this whole case I was supporting the Police. They have a hard job to do and sometimes people make mistakes. This is the same logic us christians use when the church reprimanded the preachers for touching little boy balls. Ya'll be blessed

Obviously, justice has not been served. The feds will gladly pick up the case though so it's not over. If I were an advisor to the Bell family I'd tell them to distance themselves from Al Sharpton and others who have a lot of baggage of their own. There may actually be people willing to help who can make a difference who are avoiding this matter because of his presence.

Al is a political pariah and race is his specialty. Unfortunately 2 of the cops are black so that takes away from Al's area of expertise.

What does it say when 2 black cops can partake in such an act?

Clearly, Bell is a victim in all of this but black men must remain mindful, the more we promote an agressive, anti-social, anti-establishment stance the more people are likely to believe it and respond in kind. The gangsta, criminal element has been promoted for so long and so strong that apparently even black folks are buying into it so just imagine everyone else? That sets the stage for many more cases like Sean Bell unfortunately.

The cops messed up but they are a reflection of the man who heads that unit. An old girlfriend who's also a 18yrs veteran of the NYPD told me all of the members of that unit were handpick.ed for their penchant for agression. She's on the job so she knows. She also said they f*cked up and they deserve what they get. (This was last year) Maybe they deserve more. A life was lost in an act of police overkill. I don't think it was racial or deliberate but what happened is not justice.

PZ, I wasn’t trying to get anyone to respond. I was just surprised that a Black person didn’t come on and defend the cops’ murderous actions but again the day is young and we still have the weekend.

Now, PZ let me give you my take on how perceive your perception. You look at cops and a big city like New York and say “My God- they have an incredible hard job. They are putting their lives on the line for a measly 50 of 60 g’s to work in the horrible city as a cop. Yeah I can understand how they shot at someone up to 80 times.”

However; as a researcher I look at pattern and consensus data. And pattern and consensus data clearly indicate that law enforcement officials particularly in the northeast corner have had a criminal and murderous relationship with the black community. In Boston you had the Chart Stewart Case you had the Levi Hart case. In New York there are too many cases to name so just go with Diallo and now Sean Bell cases and in Philadelphia the police chief killed our brothers and sisters in Move by bombing them. They killed women men and children by bombing them and burning down blocks and blocks of homes in West Philadelphia and the residents on Osage Avenue in West Philadelphia have yet to get justice for that.

Now when these injustices happen we often see it supported by a historically unethical and systemically racist judiciary system.

So; excuse me but I see this case and the other overwhelming consensus and pattern evidence through a set of Black eyes and as you are seeing it through your white eyes. Now the Uncle Toms that hang out on this blog will soon join and support your view but those of us who are not apologists for being Black will look at this case as a vicious murder and attempted murder (and it the race of the cops don’t matter) that was forgiven by a indelible and deeply entrenched racist judiciary system.

Anyway; point being is that our life experiences, race, ethnicity and other environmental factors are different so of course we will see it differently.

I see that happening here in the Chi, especially with the new police super dispatching SWAT teams 2 the high crime areas in the midst of all of these shootings, I know they're only trying 2 make THEIR streets safe, but @ the same time I feel that's going 2 lay the foundation 4 turning the city in2 a police state.

But DAMN, I can't believe those cops were found not guilty.
No wonder they call New York the "Empire State"

The Feds aren't going to let this case drop. Someone will pay for the death of this young man. My take is simple. I can't believe these cats are free to resume their profession. It's no so much that they shot him but the amount of shots that were fired without any return fire. Whatever happened to take cover, hold fire until threat is imminent, subdue threat, secure scene. One of these guys reloaded and shot at least 31 rounds. Maybe his intent wasn't as extreme as it became but his actions rose to the level of pure excessive response. I only hope that we don't go our rioting and tearing our own neighborhoods down like LA 1992. We have other ways of dealing with these kind of issues. I hope we use our heads Black people. BTW, for those in the vicinity of Queens or the NY area, why aren't you out there peacefully protesting? If nothing else, show your support. We have to be cognizant of the reality ALWAYS not just AFTER someone dies.

I don't argue with police. I get pulled over, I put my hands on the steering wheel. I ask permission to get my license and much more. I teach these things to my son. At this point no matter the verdict Sean Bell is not coming back so we want to AVOID these situations at all cost. His case is an extreme case but there are some where calm thinking could've made a difference. We have to practice THINKING before TALKING.

I've been accused of not taking into consideration that everyone may not have the same mental capacity and ability but those who promote a radical anti-everything agenda fail to consider the impact they have on people who take their fiery RHETORIC to heart. I've seen a growing predisposition to verbal and sometimes physical confrontation not just with the police but with each other in our community. 93% of the black people murdered are killed by other blacks NOT the police. We comprise 46% of all murder victims even though we're just 12% population. We've got problems and it's not just the police. The cowards that fact and focus on the spotlight. Typical.

Let me emphasize that Bell's case is a true tragedy before someone twists my words.

There are other cases where we play into the hands of our open enemies by TALKING too much. In the presence of police I say very little but there's a class of negro who specializes in selling woof tickets to EVERYONE knowing damn well they're not gonna do sh!t. Sometimes these sh!t talkers end up dead. Is it right? Absolutely not but it sure is predictable. Listen to them at your own risk.

thats a hard topic to explain even though most areas are rough and consider high crime areas the need of excessive force is only going to give the area more fame. examples look at cabrini green in chicago everybody know what they did back in the day and look at my area or south central in general its no secret on how many times swat members been called to our area. so basically in my opinion the swat members are feeding the neighborhood and giving them an even bigger reputation.

I've been accused of not taking into consideration that everyone may not have the same mental capacity and ability but those who promote a radical anti-everything agenda fail to consider the impact they have on people who take their fiery RHETORIC to heart. I've seen a growing predisposition to verbal and sometimes physical confrontation not just with the police but with each other in our community. 93% of the black people murdered are killed by other blacks NOT the police. We comprise 46% of all murder victims even though we're just 12% population. We've got problems and it's not just the police. The cowards that fact and focus on the spotlight. Typical.

Let me emphasize that Bell's case is a true tragedy before someone twists my words.

There are other cases where we play into the hands of our open enemies by TALKING too much. In the presence of police I say very little but there's a class of negro who specializes in selling woof tickets to EVERYONE knowing damn well they're not gonna do sh!t. Sometimes these sh!t talkers end up dead. Is it right? Absolutely not but it sure is predictable. Listen to them at your own risk.

There was an incident when my cousin & I were pulled over by the police, they asked us 2 step out of the car, ran our IDs, asked us questions about gang affilitations, drugs & all that, I answered every question in a calm & respectable manner, never raised my voice, next thing I know one of the cops pull me off 2 the side & asked "what's with Ur attitude?" which puzzled me because I was'nt angry or anything, this racist bastard insisted that I had an attitude, even threatened me & all I could think was "damn, is this f@#ker gonna try 2 do something crazy?" so yeah, I agree that thinking B4 talking would help a whole lot, however, some of these pigs R looking 4 a reason 2 gun us Black men down, & it's a shame, it goes 2 show what they think of the value of a Black man's life.

I've had police beat me while handcuffed and lie on me on the stand. I've experienced firsthand how dirty they can be but what are we to do? I try to avoid them altogether and when I cross paths with them try not to make them nervous which is tough given my physical stature.

I know I'm not going to kill a cop so there's no other options but to comply, be cordial and use the encounter to change the cop's perception of the black male. Well certainly not New York/America’s judiciary system when it comes to Black folks.

Brother E. Fra feared this being over analyzed which I am the only one who will probably do that and that is because my mind is programmed to do such. I think that study, evaluation and assessment are necessary before planning or going ointo action. I think we have been stuck in the mud for so long and it is because we don’t do that and because of that we simply become reactionary Negroes.

Anyway; at the root of our challenge is: how can we get police officers throughout the country to see value in our people. Nimrod is smart. Sometimes I employ that same tactics does with the cops and sometimes I don’t. The last time I didn’t I found myself in a Raleigh, NC courtroom defending not only a speeding ticket but a terrorist-ic threat charge against a police officer. So once you look at the cost of the ticket; the lawyer I had to pay to defend me; the hotel lodging; court fees and miscellaneous stuff - what should have cost me $100.00 ended costing me 1,500.00 not to mention I could had did a year in jail and this was all because I was unjustly pulled over and would not shut the f*ck up after I was pulled over.

So Nim’s advice is excellent and I am speaking from experience. Now as a teenager I was F8cking up so whatever they did then they did. However now as a productive law abiding citizens you still have to take those extreme measures that Nim identified.

However; I want to get back to the root of my comments and I am sorry e but I am going to over analyze because I like being under the surface and I don’t think that Sean Bell shooting only happened because of whatever variables and circumstances were involved. I think that everything that happens has a period of pregnancy and when a naturation point arrive along with certain circumstances it gives birth to the actual event.

Now; in my view; it is because of our unwillingness to police our own communities along with the police and demand that our children and the PARENTS engage in behaviors that make others want to respect us is the primary reason we are disrespected. In truth; the outrage should also be as strong if not stronger when these 50 or more Black males who will die this weekend at the hands of one our own. The other thing is that we always know who committed the murder but we remain silent - well I am ok with that if we are going to address it ourselves but what is the purpose of watching cops gun us down and we get upset but when see our own gun us down we do nothing about it.

That is just one thing. However; again we must become an economic force. We don’t need any additional money we just need to be more intelligent with the money that we have. If people see that you are fixing up your communities; demanding and getting better out of the school system for our children; becoming more active in the political process; starting new businesses and hiring not only your own but white folks too and absolutely not apologizing for being Black then that will begin to change the attitudes of people and bring us more value (in their eyes to our life).

Now people see this as too grand. They offer cultural capitulation and assimilation and surrender as a solution. Well that will ensure your slave status but it doesn’t give you added value. In this western Hemisphere if you are not a cohort with economic muscle which we have but also have the intelligence to employ that economic muscle in a way that benefits us and the country then these problems will continue to occur. At the end of the day all this stuff boils down to money and who is using it well and who is not using it well.

If we use our economic resources with a real purpose then you could reduce these kinds of racism situations but if you continue to self injure yourself economically then you and I will continue to be viewed and treated as n*ggers.

Anyway – yall need to see where Barak falls on this issue. He can’t skirt by this one because it is too politically risky. If he is our man he needs to speak up on this issue. He will not get a pass from me if he is silent on the Sean Bell case.

My belief is that its only going to get worse as the demands to keep the population in check grows.

Law enforcement and the military are the muscle of the establishment.

Many will perish fighting against injustice.if the people are getting their civil rights systematically and methodically stripped away from them by the establishment,their only recourse is to INFILTRATE the establishment or go out in a blaze of glory,fighting kicking and screaming against an extremely powerful and fully armed machine.

Just look at the Jews in America over the last 80 to 100 years.

See the Jews are some bad cats, sun. I mean Roosevelt knew the Jews were being F8cked up in Germany but he didn’t give a f*ck. If Hitler didn’t have such ambitious plans about the world that conflicted with America’s interests the holocaust would have continued.

However what I love about the way European Jews move is that they accept the fact that their white brethren in America turned their backs on them when they were burning in ovens and they don’t fool themselves into believing that their white brethren like them now. So what they did was become a Nationalist and Pan-Israel-ist group of people.

They stole the Palestinians land and then they became a strong economic force in America (because you know the term Ghetto was not originally associated with us – it was associated with Jews). However they were smart in their strategic economic warfare against America and the world. They back up their “Never Again” pledge by gaining total control of the mass communications mediums. They run it. They did this so that they could control Jewish imagery and propaganda that create mental imagery. Because remember Hitler first launched a propaganda campaign against them before he attacked them. They control our education system and they did that so that so-called anti-Semitism (by the way white Jews are not Semites –Palestinians are Semites) would not enter the literature or the curriculum in any way at any level of education. They controlled the banking and finance of this country. They did this so that they could have a political say not only in this nation but in the kind of posture this nation will have with other nations. They don’t even run Jewish candidates. There are very few Jewish politicians but yet America gives Billions and Billions of Dollars to Israel because of American Jewish influence. They control distribution. This is key thing because if you want to move your product around the world you have to go through the Jews to do so. And if you are at war with them they will make sure that you can’t distribute your product.

So they used economic warfare to be a giant in this nation and it is only 6 million of them. And they don’t apologize for being Jews. They have the ADL for political purposes and the JDL for when they need some one ….you know…taken care of…

I like their model for prosperity….

This is why I reject arm warfare. One it is suicidal and two it is totally unnecessary.

I'm sort of mixed on this one. It could either be open season on Chicago teens or finally they're about to do something. My only hope is that Weiss puts the officers in their own nieghborhoods where they live, raise children, are known and respected. It has more impact than some white dude in swat attire on Madison and Pulaski. I also hope that they keep close checks and balances on them. Some of those cats play favorites with people they know. They should enforce loitering, soliciting and group loitering. It would solve a lot of problems if they just make these little bastards go home. I'll sit back and watch as usual.

I co-sign your entire diatribe from post 1 to the last. The best way to be is respectful, quiet and most importantly legal. Know your rights and shut your mouth. If they have nothing, there will be nothing. The cops out here in my village which is 5 miles from the Chicago city limit stopped messing with me a long time ago. They know that I'm not doing anything other than raising my boys and working every day. They used to stop me, leave tickets on my parked car and all kind of stuff when I first moved here a few years ago from the City. After winning against them in court on a few occasions, they left me alone. Half the time, they don't even show up and it gets thrown out. They expect you not to show and just pay the fine in order to get them into those nice new SUV's. Don't be a fool. Learn the rules, play them to the farthest level and they'll respect you. Of course, there's a bad apple in every bunch but fight them on their terms. Don't try to be tough because they'll mow your butt like grass. I'm out, work is calling.

After I was shot @ 13yrs of age by Bountry Hunter Bloods, I started working w/ "Freeway" Rick Ross & Harry "O" in the Late 80's as an enforcer. I personally have killed 10 or 20 people in the country. After both got locked up I had a brief job @ Fat Burger as short order cook I was fired for tardyness. I then got hired by Rosco's Chicken & waffles but I got into it w/ some Piru's for trying to steal a chicken salad. I then started Janitor @ Domingez High in Compton I also worked & HR Block as tax help. During some months I also drove the Ice Cream truck. I met my wife of 13 yrs during one of my routes in watts. Anyway. I met Spider Loc about 6 yrs ago when he used to run w/ Blu Divinci & my "BMF" comrades. He saw the talent I had in blogging and he scooped me up. My moms & his dad are siblings we never new it. I bang now because I wanna teach my kids a lot of good can come of it. if you smash on the right people ala social clubbers. you can get rich. Another important lesson to be learned from the sean bell incident is that you shouldnt drink when your in public.

Your not on point when your intoxicated and it clouds your judgement.

That goes for the undercover police officers and the future potential victims.

I dont know all the facts of the case,i wasnt at the incident,i wasnt in the courtroom,and i didnt read any of the court papers.

All i know is from what i hear and read from the drive by tabloid media.

This whole ordeal today has gotten me in a bad mood today.

its because sean was a blackman,coupled with my personal experiences with police.

I also cant stand the image of those news clips of the white cop grinning and smilng from ear to ear everytime he entered the courtroom.

THE SPOOKTOWN WAS EVEN CRAZIER. I WAS CHEATIN ON MY WIFE W/ THIS HOODRAT THEN THEY BUSTED INTO THE ROOM & SAW MY PURPLE SPIDER LOC GAYME OVER SHIRT IN THE CORNER AND MADE ME AN HONORARY MEMBER.

The feds stepping in doesn't require the president intervening. All it takes it a federal prosecutor (US Attorney Eastern District) to want to see his/her name in the paper. This is history and ambitious prosecutors smell blood. No president was needed for Justin Volpe (Abner Louima) to get prosecuted. The feds target local police all the time. There's great enmity between the two organizations. They don't support each other at all and are very territorial about everything. If the people show enough anger the feds will answer the call. It's how the system works. You can't make a blanket indictment of all whites ot police when the only way to get justice is with their help.
