More Music Fresh Out of Staten, Plus, Prodigy Keys Another Blog, Vents on his Differences with Nas

With over 500,000 people packed onto the tiny island of Staten, I think there should be way more music coming from out of the home of the Wu-Tang Clan. Every other week we see a new rapper emerge from out of the streets of Brooklyn, Queens, sometimes The Bronx, Harlem (maybe L.E.S)... and Yonkers-- a part of New York that isn't even IN New York City. But never do we hear a peep from Shaolin. So since this kid AC seems to be consistent and persistent, and I respect what he's doing as far as trying to bring some fresh recognition back to S.I., here's yet another vid from the young MC.

After all that talk, Prodigy STILL isn't locked up. And on HNIC2.com, you can get up close and personal with him through the (sometimes hard to read) blog he writes. This one was posted yesterday, and in it, he reflects on rappers he does-- and does not-- f*ck with. As far as Nas:
NAS- got fire but it seems as tho he is lost and needs to stop lying about me and how i hate him??? never,,,only looked up to him as an artist and friend. he confusing the people with that. and he sided with jay for protection when we got with g-unit after bashing me. jay put together all the mobb/prodigy haters after hearing about us teaming wit g-unit..he needed a army, and he was right for doing so.. it made them all feel safer,, nas is also too sneaky and on some back stab shit so im bout to stop praising him and really just sever ties completely...i want and i try real hard for him to dead the bullshit tho,, it was my idea to squash the beef and come to his central park show years back,, but some funny shit happened there like he tried to set me up and lake boyz got they asses wupped out,, and we still did the show after the fight,,,,,,ask buster rghyms and q-tip bout that one
And he reflected on everyone from 2Pac to Big Pun, Fat Joe, The Lox, and even Havoc-- everyone but Prodigy himself. Why not? Why not talk about how much of a corny, washed-up, 50-prasing d*ck rider he became once he got with G-Unit? And he blames Jay for building an army of Mobb Deep/G-Unit haters? Shady Hov is now taking KY gelly up his anus in exchange for the Brooklyn big bucks, so I wouldn't put P's claims past him BUT I have to disagree with P on this one; the only Mobb Deep haters that surfaced were HIS OWN FANS. They sold out, and in return the fans turned their backs and voiced their disgust. Me being one of them.

But it looks like Prodigy had a little hate going on for the kid a couple of years ago. Back in late 2006, Nas responded to the Mobb's claims that Nas only signed to Def Jam in response to them signing to G-Unit:
"Mobb Deep signing to G-Unit is a disgrace to hip-hop," Nas said. "I love them little brothers, but don't speak on Nas. It doesn't make sense. You learned from me. That's the bottom line. It's easy to tattoo somebody's crew on your knuckles and act like you tough," the lyricist continued. "But be a man, let's see how far you get. And I believe in Mobb Deep. I believe that they will prosper even though they say negative stuff. They my little duns. Those are my little babies."
And Nas 'needed a army' for the defense against who? Because last time we checked, G-Unit only fell flat, and so did Mobb Deep's momentum... and respect. The '06 Hot 97 Summer Jam pretty much proved that.
But if Nas really had Prodigy set up at the Central Park show when P was trying to reach out, then that's shady business. And Nas probably did-- I wouldn't put that past any n*gga from Queens... bridge.

Queens rappers need to stop beefing. i blame 50 Cent he has poisoned the atmosphere in New york. 50 Cent needs to be put in check for real. All I know is P and Mobb Deep have been puting out fire these last couple months. Return of the Mac was great & other leaked material! Nas & Mobb need to squash that sh*t and give us some of those good Quens street tales. Nas has a biuzz for the album so they need to stop hatin and build.

It's not 50's fault Mobb fell off. He did them a favor by signing them. Same with MOP. I love old school but we're talking about people who peaked over a decade ago. Does anyone expect Tribe, Redman or Raekwon to recapture past glory? If you do then that explains why most of you are always left complaining.
NY fans are constantly disappointed because they expect artists to do the impossible and turn back the hands of time. The deaths of Pac and Big overshadowed everyone who had momentum before that. The only ones who seem to have weathered that period are Jay, Nas and maybe one or two more if that.
Those deaths changed the way the music was made, changed the lyrical content, and more importantly, changed the fans' expectations of the artists. The artists tried to adjust and even Busta started talking tough.
Now we have P talking about Nas joined Jay for "protection." LOL! From who? From what?!! That's the sillyness I can't deal with in hop hop. The only time rappers get hurt or killed is when they go out of their way to bring REAL gangsters in the mix to add credibility. These guys let their marketing schemes distort their reality with serious consequences at times. They get so delusional they start actually believing they're some type of organized crime families. LOL!
I think everyone needs a reality check. Rappers are NOT mobsters. NONE of them. At best they were PETTY drug dealers and criminals prior to rap. No one needs protection from ANY of them.

I really don't get why you would say Mobb Deep sold out. If you are an artist and a record company is will to pay you money even if you don't produce that much for them, wouldn't you take it. They have been through the record business for a long time so they know a good deal when they see it. What should they have done, went to Def Jam? Even though they didn't do the numbers they were "suppose" to do, the album was good. For those people who don't agree, my question for you is did you even hear the album? They were single was the backdrop for radio promo's, ads, and the whole nine so "Put em in there place" was a hit. G-unit at the time and still to a degree now, was big at the time so why not join forces. Especially when they are going to let you be you. I didn't see Jay or Cam or Nas offering them money or a Porsche. You could hate G-unit all you want but they take care of their artist. That is why a lot of your favorite rappers would consider going there including your boys from D-Block. Just ask the Ghost. Money talks and bullshit walks. Why would you think Nas went to Def Jam after such a brutal battle with Jay? The guy smashed his baby's mom while he was with her man. If there any one single sell-out move, this would be it! Of course a magazine like Don Diva caters to those who believe selling drugs and bringing shame to their parents is some sort of honorable lifestyle. If they dare tell it like it is who would buy it? I can only speak for myself. I have no personal issues with anyone. I've been around and after a while you notice shit is one big circle so I spot the bullshit in advance.
Kevin Chiles, the owner of Don Diva is a quack. He tries to present what he does with that magazine as being something noble and all he's doing is trying to make a buck like everyone else. On top of that, he's a hypocrite because he cooperated with the poilce to get the killer of his mother arrested and sent to prison. His father took the stand and he put Sharay Watson on the stand to testify. There's more but young dudes read that mag and focus on the wrong shit. The dude Chuck Born who testified against Kevin is on the street right in Mt. Vernon. Kev knows this and he won't do shit because he is and has always been a punk. He isn't mad at Alpo for being a rat. He's mad at Po for fucking his baby mom's and putting it on the screen in the Rooftop back in the day for the whole of Harlem to see.

I found a lot of highly useful information in that issue. The first article showed numerous ways to get free or low cost healthcare! Many brothers and sisters have little or no healthcare so this information is very valuable!! Also, it talked about the state of emergency in the Black community. I was familiar with a lot of these statistics already, but reading them all laid out together is a reinforcement and a wake up call to myself. We have no time to be killing each other, its time to pool our resources and work together for the common cause. My brother Un once told me "you have to pick sense from nonsense". So maybe they have featured some snitches in past issues. I don't condone snitching AT ALL. But they also do have some useful information that the hood can take advantage of. Also, As Is is worth reading too.
