Man, it's obvious. You can look at Common, way he carries himself, his music, things you hear about him and KNOW he's sincere. Nas is not Common.
P.S. Just to show you how lazy and insincere Nas is...Go check out allhiphop in the rumor section. The song listed above was released A YEAR AGO before the Nigger album with a different beat, and all Nas did was change the beat so people think it's a new song. Yea, this album means so much to him that he recycled whole songs.

You know I agree with the balance issue in rap. It's amazing how people think their personal preference in music is what's needed to "save" hip hop. Like yourself I like a variety of music from a variety of artists for a variety of reasons. I can be critical of artists who make music I like unlike so many on this site. It wouldn't be bad if there was a bunch of HS kids on here but the majority on this site are GROWN.
For instance, I like Illmatic and Stillmatic but I don't think naming an album NIGGER is a good idea. The BLIND loyalty to individual artists and to a large degree hip hop is indicative of today's "cult of personalty" fans who endorse ignorance in the name of riding with their region or artists. Please grow up..
Also, this site needs new bloggers. It's the same perspective of the same topics. How many times are we gonna talk about Nas' album. This is the NYC blog but there's a consistent rotation of about 7 subjects.
This should be a place to share knowledge of the business, promote ideas and yes, prostrate at your favorite rappers' feet if that's what you're into as many of you are. LOL!
