Police are searching for a man involved in the shooting death of a 15-month-old boy Monday night during an apparent carjacking in Gary.
The boy's mother also was wounded by the suspected gunman.
Gary police investigate the scene where a red Ford Explorer was abandoned after a carjacking.
Josiah Shaw died at about 10 p.m. at The Methodist Hospitals in Gary. His mother, Kwana Shaw, was in unknown condition at the hospital.
Gary Police had found Josiah in a red Ford Explorer on the 1700 block of Virginia Street, near the city's downtown.
His 29-year-old mother had called police at about 7:40 p.m. to report that a man drove off with the vehicle containing her son after she was carjacked, said Gary Police Lt. Del Stout.
She was headed north on Virginia Street near 21st Place when a man forced his way into her car, authorities said.
A witness told police that she saw a man run out of the car.
The Gary SWAT team and the Hobart K-9 unit arrived on scene but could not find the man on Virginia Street. The SWAT team then was dispatched elsewhere.

Looks like more than a question to me. I'm neither silly nor foolish which is a little redundant by the way. Nor am I putting on an act as a hunter although I see you are somewhat familiar with who Nimrod actually was. It's just a psuedonym to conceal my true identity and frees me to discuss people I actually know and have had dealings with. I'm pretty much appalled by the way rap has become a religion for so many young blacks with their favorite rappers being their gods. I come on the blogs to drop some game the blogger will never drop either because they don't know or because ignorance serves their purpose so much better. It's really sad what has happened to an entire generation so a handful of blacks could profit along with a multitude of the usual suspects (whites). After the white boys are done with us all we know how to do is turn on each other and I see it here every day. I hold the whites and their willing black stooges equally accountable for exploiting the youth mercilessly. They laugh at us because so many of us WORSHIP the ones most responsible for our dilemma. I will say this Rae has always seemed like a hater, but he put out good music. Which I wish he was still doin, and Shyhiem was an up and coming star in there ranks who freestyled with the best of Brooklyn M.C.s, if anybody remembers that famous Project Day freestyle, too bad dude got caught up in the streets. The diss was cool, he hit some subjects that will either lead to Rae puttin out his own diss or somebody gettin hurt, but let's hope it stays on wax.

Again, much of the foolery we now witness was initiated by these modern day colonialist to line their pockets.
