Jay-Z Goes in Hard Body on New Ish "Aint I" From... "The Blueprint 3"

"Bow down."
hov_pnk.jpg

Damn. 10,300 downloads.

Clue said it. So it's official: The Blueprint 3 is on the way.

Jay-Z "Aint I" {LISTEN}

"I took a pay cut to become an exec/ So the next mothaf*cka can earn his paycheck/ And even though these n*ggas talk greasy bout me/ Ask these n*ggas how they gon' eat without me/ Ask these n*ggas if they want stacks involved/ And even if they don't like me they respect the god."

That goes for...Peedi. And all others on the dropdown list. At this point, put your cursor on that red "X" on the top right of the screen and shut yourself down. You'll be lucky if your system restarts...

One other thing:

Why hasn't Nas done a video like this in recent times? Instead of that generic QB-on-a-screen thing he had going on "Can't Forget About You," this is what I would've expected.

Even though Fat Joe is a biter who's full of sh*t and never does his own thing, I must admit that he took it back to his old style with this one. The video is crack. Makes a n*gga say 'Yeah... that's MY town right there!' This is the kind of hard beats I f*cks with. But the lyrics? Pass.

goodmorning NY

wow yo that fat joe video and song was real hott he def tore it down!! ah man now thats that shyt . plus he spit some good rhymes to! better than some of these new jax anyways.yea love to se the latinos holding it down.cause it was once said blacks and latinos started hip hop in brooklyn ny back in the late 70s. but word hip hop is for everyone.

I wonder who he's making music for? I mean he's a good rapper but I can't get used to looking at anybody over 35 on the mic and I struggle watching MC's over 30.

Who's gonna start the new Def Jam or Bad Boy or even Roc-a-fella? Russell never had to rap to launch any business. I wonder if some of these guys are just too vain to play the back and win or not smart enough or both. They don't need the money that's for sure. Once you got 50mil you can live off interest alone and still ball out. When are the youth gonna get a shot? It's one thing to have to compete with your peers but it's another to have to compete with rappers old enough to be your dad. Jay, Diddy, Ghost, Scarface etc., never had to deal with that. Step aside, step up or fall back but let the youngstas get the shot you had is all I'm saying. There's no new blood getting any shine cause these old niggas refuse to leave the stage gracefully. They snatch all promotion budget, airplay, magazine coverage and so on. Let the game breathe so everybody can eat. 40 is NOT the new 30.

Man jay is a muhfuckin beast...aint nobody fuckin wit him 4real

@nimrod
All them niggas u jus named tha game needs....if they leave they game wouldn't be shit....all tha young niggas care about is money anyway....niggas don't want 2 be a rapper because they love tha art anymore....they jus tryna make it out tha hood and stop sellin drugs and live right....that's y there is so many wack rappers

yo that jay z joint was dope it sounds like something from his =third album and that fat joe video is hot too. but to dude above saying he cant listen to rappers over 30 well it seems like the older cats are the only ones holding it down while these younger cats are danceing around with the same bright hoddies dressing like its 1982 makeing ring tone songs for little 13 year old girls that will soon forget about them after they leave high school lol you know usually after like 8 years a new group of rappers come along and out shine the older ones but it seems like the older ones are still out shineing the younger ones.ill listen to a rapper if hes 35 wtf you act like hes 50 lol thats like saying you wont watch a movie if the actors are 30.lol theirs a cerian swagga that comes with people from the age of 27 threw 37 .its like yal down have rythem.shiit yal nigaz wach scarface all day al was like 31 when he played that part. i think the older rappers would let yal take over but the younger kids ant doing it rite they killed hip hop yo you cant get that matter face we gonna wait for the kids that are 10 years old now and wait till their 18 0r 19 to se how they do it cause these 12 thew 26 year olds are wack walking around looking like your lost in time trying to rock the goofy slug.peace bitch

Suspect? Because I'm not comfortable seeing grown men dress and act like kids? What's suspect about that?

Why do all the e-thugs engage in homo erotic insults and innuendo? Everybody with a different point of view is a hater or a homo. Grow up kid and think before you open your mouth.

back to my original point. The music is DYING in case some of you groupies failed to notice so what YOU like isn't working anymore. My love of the music is why I said what I said. I guess wanting young people to get a shot doesn't jibe with you because you're a 40yr old wealthy mogul eating off of hip hop... and I'm Ghengis Khan.

you know how u gotta be 21 to drink well it should be you gott be 26 to rap.these kids listen to the radio and think thats how you rap lmfao. aight imma be nice here buy these albums and learn how to fucing rap>>big pun captiol punshment/ wu tang 36 chambers also wu tang wu tang forever album/ rza boby digtial album.raekwon only built4cuban linx album/ the first 3 jay z albums look them up my nigaz/nas illmatic/it was written/iam albums/ az do or die/fat joe the don cartagena album/ghostface iron man album/method man tical 1 and 2/ dr dres the chronic album.snoop dogs doggy style album/ ice cube leathal injection/eminem the slim shady lp/ red man wut thee album/redman muddy waters.red man docs the name/lil kim hardcore/the lox money power and respect/dmx first album. aight imma stop rite their now those arent even albums from the 80s cause i dont want to talk to too far back those are from the 90s now buy those albums and learn how to fucing rap and also these skateboarding kidss im tireing of seeing too walking around with the same rob and big hats with freaking hair mullets.

ni99as be killin me. why jigga got to retire so younger ni99as can eat. if he retires I still won't listen to those new rappers. If they can't make it with him here they can't make it with him gone.

@Dareal

Funny you said that. Some of the links I posted were from 14yrs ago!! What if the industry kept pushing Rakim, Kane, KRS, Slick Rick, Run-DMC, De La Soul, etc., down our throats? How would the others I mention ever get a shot? They wouldn't.

See I remember when you was considered old school at 24. Ask Big Daddy Kane. So watching 40yr old rappers is just CRAZY to me. You mean to tell me there's no hot young talent? Why do you think people have to retire at 65? They can still do the job but that's how you make room for somebody else. In life you either leave on your own accord or you get escorted out kicking and screaming. LOL!

Rap more than any other music is youth oriented. It started as music made by kids for kids. Now it's music made by adults for kids and adults who think they're kids. Hey, 40 is the new 30. LOL!

@nimrad yea krs1 and rakim let the new comers get a shot back then cause their was talent coming threw the door like nas,wu tang,jay z,and ect. these new kids are soo freaking wack you got chingy,nelly,soulja boy,hurrcane chis,ok lets se um lil momma lil bow wow and shiit the hell out of here the torch cant be passed to them thats like your dad dieing and insted of giving his money to his son he gives it to some one he doesnt know its not gonna happend they killed hip hop and u know wat happends to kilers.nuff said im out

Last I checked Jigga wasn't selling too well either. Name his last double plat album. And I mean certified. Nowadays it cost so much to go 1x plat that you have to go plat just to break even. Maybe he should retire so he can be remembered as the great rapper he is instead of the old fighter who don't know when to hang up the gloves.

yea its so hard for rappers to go play cause you little fucs sit their and download your faces off all day and everyday thats another reason why you killed hip hop.not saying older people dont do it but some on i know what gos on .

i ment yea its so hard for rappers to go plat cause you little fucs sit their and download your faces off all day and everyday thats another reason why you killed hip hop.not saying older people dont do it but come on i know what gos on .

You know what Nimrod. The names you mentioned above aren't relevant anymore. Not because they aren't beasts in their craft, (they are all in my top ten and I'm from the South) but because their music didn't progress with their age. If you threw KRS or Rakim over a new age beat with 808 and some bounce, they would kill it. But everytime I hear a nu track from one the God MC's......it just sounds nostalgic. Same type hooks and all. Jay-Z is still relevant because he continues to come with something new. He doesn't have to dress corny and dance around the stage. They throw that sick ass beat....he gets in his stance and delivers heat. He's still a trend setter and he's fuckin' Beyonce. Get my point.

@nimrod
u got a point....i aint sayin that its not any young talent around but they all on tha same page...u might get a lupe or kanye here n there but tha rest are tha same....niggas like run dmc n them was on that 1 2 3 4 5 type rap u kno...so they couldnt keep pushin them down our throats cuz niggas like tha wu and busta came wit a whole new delivery and style...but today i honestly dont think we're gonna get that...u talk like u a grown ass man so i kno u dont wanna here no fuckin soulja boy or chingy...tha old heads is tha ones keepin this game together with music tha says something...there is young talent but they all cut from tha same cloth....jus some are nicer than others

now i can if all these old rappers u talkin bout aint nice anymore...but they are....some better than ever
scarface - still nice..u can listen 2 his album st8 thru
jay - tha nicest
bun b - still nice
busta - nice and probaly better than ever
andre 3000 - nice as shit...he would probaly b better tha jay if he had as much solo albums as him.....and tha list goes on

Nimrod cant nobody block a hit record and its just like streetball, dont cry cause the OG's run the court, come get dunked on or learn to dunk! Its called competition!

@ nimrod, man i feel your point about old niggas needing to pass the torch but what about other musical entertainers? They stay in the game forever. Country, rock, rhythm and blues, pop, etc, etc. Two examples off top are Janet Jackson, Madonna, and actors stay around forever. So why is rap and hip-hop so special that niggas gotta suit their profession cuz their age? Enlighten me, you seem intelligent so give me the answer to that one.

Although Kane is my personal favorite of all time I wouldn't want a label to sign him and put a big budget behind him NOW. And he could still kill it. He and Jay are the same age. LOL! All the old school cats can still flow. It's in their DNA but from a marketing standpoint solely pushing old dudes doesn't bring in new blood and dollars which are needed to keep the business of rap afloat. As the # of hardcore record buying Jay fans dwindle with time so will the prospects for hip hop if we place all our bets on the oldtimers. There's a place for oldtimers who like to spit and it's called "The Road." They should do their part by touring and killing shows like only they can and do collabos with newbies to not only give them a boost but remain relevant. That's just my theory that's all. Shit's not working out the way it is so something has to change before the lights go out on rap.

It's called PAYOLA. It's called big bank take little bank. It's called tell them a lie often enough and they'll believe it. It's called play a song often enough and they'll think it's hot. It's called spend ad money with a mag and we'll get the cover, over and over and over.

If a level playing field truly existed any rapper would find it hard to last longer than 5yrs cause new heat would be coming from everywhere. Ask any rapper at def Jam if they got a fair shot at "competition."

One thing we know it's not called is FAIR.

Jigga just goes over the head of these young ones. They don't understand what he raps about. That's why they like Wayne cause he dumbs down Jigga's message for him. I don't give a dayum if Jay is close to AARP age I'll still ride to his music. Why? What other options do I have?

In every genre of music you mentioned the artists are a reflection of the fans to a large degree. Guess where that theory fails to apply? That's right. Hip Hop.

Although most of us on this blog think we're reflective of what hip hop really is just look at the audience of 106 & Park and you'll see who the real target is and it ain't us. LOL! The disparity in appearance between today's rappers and those HS girls screaming for them on BET is amazing. That's why we don't understand the appeal of a Hurricane Chris or Soulja Boy but those lil girls who buy records and fantasize about being THEIR girlfriends not Jiggas get it. Jigga looks like thier dad who stumbled in their brothers closet. LOL!

It's a catch 22. the industry needs young fans to buy albums but it also needs older artists to attract corporate interests because Who can Soulja Boy sell Chevy's or Pontiacs to? Ya dig? With all the focus placed on corporate dollars (because that's why Jay, Diddy and the rest won't stop) the artform is neglected. Those dudes make more money outside of rap than they do from rap but they also make it because of rap which is why they keep going. It's called selfish GREED. They're doing them even though it's killing the game and the loyal fans support it because they don't know better.

Why is it tht rappers so called need to retire after 30. When did u craft get determined by how old you are? Rap and Hip Hop are the only genre defined by age. Johnny Cash was still making albums damn near on his death bed. James Brown was still performing in concerts the same month he died. Madonna gotta be pushing 50 but still selling out concerts, the same for Cher. Whts wrong with cats like JayZ, Nas and Scarface still rhyming. If half of these posters had the talent and love of music Im pretty sure they would still be making music. Besides, who wants to listen to these youngins rap? Im 27 and really dont want to hear a song called Yaay Trick Yaay! No disrespect to Soulja Boy but tht type of music aint for me. If Hova can still sell out the Garden and the entire arena is still throwing up the Diamod sign, let the ni**a live.

I think all artists with a catalogue should tour and do shows as long as people buy tickets. I just don't feel new music from 40yr rappers is how to keep the business alive. The system is broke and no one can argue with that.

BTW, can somebody PLEASE name some youngins tht these so called old rappers are supposed to be steppin aside for? When KRS-1 and Big Daddy Kane stepped off we had fresh meat like the entire Def Jam roster (JayZ, DMX, Murder Inc, etc). Who are they now steppin aside for? If u can legitimately name 5 new era of rappers then maybe I could agree with u.

I hear what you saying Nimrod, about rappers being hungry back then, but these new rappers aren't hungry like that. It's too many rappers trying to sound like Jay Z and if they can't sound like Jay Z they try to copy his swagger or try their best to imitate his flow. For an example: see any random Southern rapper talking about hustling : Jeezy, Rick Ross, etc. You taking about old rappers clogging the lane but the problem is these new rappers can't even find THEIR OWN IDENTITY because they to busy biting.

Answer me this: Would you agree that through out the history of Hip Hop the quality of lyrics have advanced, right?

You have the late 70's and early 80's when rap first started. Everything was cool, then come along Run DMC - one of the first turning points in rap - thus changing the quality of lyrics for the better and changing Hip Hop as a whole. Fast Forward to the Golden Era (the late 80's) - a another turning point in Hip Hop where the quality of lyrics have got better because of rappers like Rakim, Kane, G Rap, Ice Cube, etc

With the early 90's you will see the same thing - better lyrics & better beats because of rappers like Biggie, Nas, Pac, Scarface

Now he arrive to the final turning point in Hip Hop - the late 90's. Again better lyrics and beats because of rappers like Jay Z, Outkast, etc.

Now how come after 1999 the quality of rap lyrics have stayed the same or gotten worse. Because everyone is trying to be either like 2pac or Jay Z.

Just look at T.I. he had his own swagger but as time went on he started biting Pac & Jay and combined the 2 personalities. And it was a success. Now the newer southern rappers are trying to copy's T.I success. It's like hip hop is filled with niggas copying other niggas that copied someone else

so what is it nim, rap so you can get paid off it or rap for the love?
competition have no age limit, if you a boxer and you still got it all that means is the younger rappers need to step they game up.
-
lets be real
who is hot in the generation? and who ever you pick would you want them to be the dominating force in hip hop?
if there is a hot rapper out then the old heads wont matter if they on there game, right or wrong? you think if hov stopped rapping anf snoop stopped rapping hurrican chris would have more sales? lol, come on man jeezy sales, TI sales, wayne got a following, soulja boy got a folllowing ans selling. who is these rappers thats NOT eating cause of the vets?

how come niggas like Luda,Jeezy,Tip,Kanye,Weezy,and etc. have a problem selling I have to agree with someone how said you can't stop heat if you are really good they can't stop you.Jigga is plat and he only took like 11 weeks or so and in todays market thats damn good it took 50 almost the same amount of time and he started out with over 700,000 so certain niggas got a gift and can go past their prime and as long as Jigga keep doing his thing theres nothing I can say but the Blueprint 3 is on the way.

you know what u missing
and nimrod u gotta agree
THEY GOT BETTER AS THEY AGED!!!!
you want hip hop to stay stagnant in that im a thug im a gangsta young and dumb era. hip hop HAVE to grow it can be shoot shoot shoot kill kill kill gang this crack that, beef here beef there. you know who do that? young dumb nigga that aint grow. i was one of them young niggas and now that im older i see life different. and just like these vets they rappin' on a level of growing up, if we DONT let hip hop grow it will die.
-
and fuck the fact that half of these rappers get mainstrem sucess at 25 or older. lol please lets not forget that.

If Jay still beasted the track give him his props. Don't sit up here and ridicule him for being older MC, instead congratulate him for being innovative. And to the fact about the young generation, you name one MC, not a ringtone rapper, that can capture minds, the way these older rappers are doing. And frankly, you must look at Hip Hop as of maturing genre, people (it) is still relatively young. I see it being split into subgenres. Because the teenagers of 95, are the grown men and women in 08, that still have a taste for Jay z, Nas, Scarface, Outkast, Bun B, Ghost and etc, if I can pull something away from there message to enlighten, inspire, humor or motivate me, allow me to. And to them older MC's that are still relative, and to those that aree'nt relative anymore, THANK YOU FOR MAKING THE SOUNDTRACK TO MY LIFE.

@I'm Sayin

You're so right on so many points but Jeezy and Rick Ross are old rappers too. LOL! At least they look old as fuck.

I actually think the game peaked lyrically around 95 and started declining after 99 as you stated.

The fixation with keeping it real, gangsta and all of that foolishness killed the diversity that existed before that. Jay's a bad boy but he was alsovery experienced during those times so he ADJUSTED well. The cats who fell short and there are many are the butt of jokes and ridicule.

Prior to everyone claiming the hood and pushing Bentleys up and coming rappers weren't pressured to be Tony Montana or John Gotti (How many niggas in rap got that name?)

The kids only talked about what they saw working and what they saw working gradually got narrowed down to CRIMINALITY and everyone played a part in that. My god even Busta the clown prince of rap started talking about flipping birds!

Let's see now. You either have to rep a gang or be a dope boy or killer to connect with people who don't fall under any of those categories. If you talk about anything else you ain't repping the hood. No wonder the game is dying.

Bun B, Kayne West, Ludacris, Wayne, maybe the Game if he didn't dick ride so much. Noticed I only used "younger rappers" with skills!!!

But according to Nimrod it's better if rappers over 30 bow out gracefully. So the rappers I just mentioned are either near 30 or over 30. So Nimord who's going to be the driving force in Hip Hop if Jay Z, Andre 3000, Snoop, Nas, Common, etc leave the rap game?

@Brooklyn B

I ain't messing with you and Jay Z man. LOL!

Btw, shouldn't we all get better with age? There are other levels you know. Once I master anything I move on. I thought that's how things worked.

Jay is that dude. As long as he keeps setting the industry trends, I'll keep copping his shit. I'm almost 40 and I love hip hop and not that little kid stuff. That was good when I was in club mode, but now I'm married with children, have good credit and such. I don't care how old the rapper is, if he's serving heat then I'm eating. Nas and Jay just happen to be the best right now and they continue to evolve in the ringtone era. Fat Joe is nice to me also. I don't care about a rappers street cred because most of these cats lie anyway. Keep making hot shit and I'm buying whether you're 16 or 40.

American Gangsta had how many singles? how many videos? he's not even oversaturating the scene like he could. people laff cause he aint sell a mill yet but that album got barley any promo. he did the same thing TI did for king with ATL, had 1 video and a televised listening party anything after that he was out preforming.
-
now u know like i know hov coulda milked that album. its for the love, plus he owes def jam 1 more album. but do u think if all rappes retired after they turned 30 the game would be better? or would rec execs sign more teenagers to jerk?
-
and all the youtube clips u should you failed to mention the LOVE they had for the game, these young kids treat rap like a job them vets treat rap like a craft and if your good at your craft then your not gonna retire until your ready.
-
