The Monday Night Fight Klub, which first earned major buzz throughout the New York City streets with the infamous Remy Ma Vs. Lady Luck battle back in 2004, is strapping up for yet another season of lyrical warfare.
According to a press release, Fight Klub’s creators and host International P are on the prowl to uncover the most prolific freestyle battlers to showcase their rawest spittage in front of the cameras, which will be unleashed via television at a later date.
To enter the “60 Second Assassin†contest for a shot at the pool table, MCs all over the country can upload their videos and/or mp3s at Thefightklub.com or the provided Youtube link, click here.
Heads up: even though this press release goes on to say that The Fight Klub has built a reputation as an “A&R showcase,†don’t get it twisted. The A&Rs these days know nothing about music; just take one of Sickamore’s groupies “assistant†interns as a prime example. When asked about what kind of reggae “they†listen to, “they†not only scrunched their nose in disapproval at the mention of Bob Marley, but said Elephant Man is what “they†swear by (chuckle). Welcome to the Rap Industry 2007, where you don’t have to know a thing about the history of music to get a job scouting talent… which is why there is no reverence for hip-hop today. If you get signed, it doesn’t mean you’re hot. It probably just means the A&R has a lot to learn.

Nevermind the speculation. The problem with the Wu-Tang Clan is simply the fact that RZA didn’t want anyone else but him producing on the album, which ultimately took away from the album, according to Ghost. And I believe it’s true, because even though I have yet to hear the album in its entirety, barely anyone who’s heard it is feeling it… at all. And that’s too bad.

What’s this rumor the NYPost is trying to spread? After stating that, quote, “THE Inc. The album was supposed to come out Sept. 18 and was pushed back to Nov. 13 and now has no date except 2008. Irv wants Ja to record over the holidays and Ja feels he's done enough. He's furious."
Looks like someone took the obvious facts and inserted “Ja is mad†and “He’s furious†throughout. And for the record, “Gotti’s Way†is Irv’s show. Not “their†show.

I have never been a Wu fan, but none the less I was sorry to hear what is gonig on with them. How is it that RZA gets to make all the decisions for the group? Why would the label even let him get away with producing the whole album when they saw he was moving away from their proven formula? I hope it works out for them.

How do you know RZA is trying to make the album sound like the next shit? Maybe it's the other way around, where RZA's beats sound like his old shit and the rest of the WU want him to do something more up to date. Plus Ghost was trying to bring in Kanye and the Neptunes beats, so I think it's RZA that's fucking the shit up. But than again groups on niggers never get along!!!

First off the Lyrics is what this shit is all about not the beat. Just look at Nas, he's hot because of his lyrics not his beat selection.
Second your crazy if you think Kanye beats wouldn't work with the Wu. I know when I first heard that Rhymefest Song "Brand New" I thought the Rza did that beat, but it turned out that was one of Kayne's throw-away beats.
Plus there is other niggaz that beside Kanye and the Neptunes that the Wu can work with like Pete Rock, Alcamist (sp), Dr Dre, Premo, etc. Rza not even the best on the productions tip.
And I still think Bobby Digital was not all that good. It wasn't corny but I sill think it could have been better

A&R's are killing the game, and add the radio station program directors. We know they are pushing wack artists and wack movements. BUT THE PROBLEM IS THEY HAVE GREAT INFLUENCE ON WHAT THE YOUNG KIDS LIKE! Never in a million years did I think "Crank Dat Soulja Boy" would be a hit, scratch that, survive in NYC. I'd hate to say it but it has found acceptance with the 15 year olds.
