Nas & Jay-Z Prove "Success" with "No Hook," Dukedagod says Jim Jones Will "Flip" on 50 in Due Time

This is another joint from off of Jay-Z's Jigga's American Gangster, which features Nas, called "Success" [LISTEN]. So far, based tracks I've heard from off the album, Jay really meant it when he said this album was going to be all about the lyrics. Now maybe these other artists will follow suit...so as long as he doesn't pull another mediocre Kingdom Done. The question is, how is the younger crowd going to receive this "breath of fresh air"? Based on my observation, these younger folks are in love with the beats, not the lyrics. They like nursery rhyming, not the message or dexterity in articulation.
And this is definitely something most 90s-born kids aren't used to. Check it out. It's called "No Hook,' with a hot beat
Note: damn near every rap song has a hook. But! Not every hook makes the song.
And according to a rep at Universal, Jay-Z's philly show sold out in about 30 seconds. His L.A show sold out in 11. Interesting if not exaggerated.
Dukedagod had some things to address during his interview with HHNLive. A lot of you saw Jim Jones playing pool with Curtis and the crew on "Rap City." Well, this is what Duke had to say:
"How I felt about that?...You know why he did what he did? To take advantage of the moment. The way I feel about it, in a quick second Jim will flip on 50 Cent. Jim don't got no real love for 50 like that. So I mean that's how I see it."
I'm sure you knew this but in short, Jimmy is using Curtis to stay bright in the limelight. Even though Curt has been lacking some light of his own these days.
As for Cam and Jim having their issues:
"It's two brothers you know, who need to get on the same page that's all. Jim is Dipset, Cam is Dipset, it's Dipset forever you know what I mean? I mean they just need to get on the same page that's all."Yeah that's why Cam is a "free" agent. Releasing a "free" mixtape. And using "free" Myspace promo instead of hiring a publicist.

Im glad to hear that Jay is taking it back to the lyrics on this album. I bought the official Kingdom Come cd and it didnt live up to my expectations. It wasnt wack but it was just alright.
