Coming up in The South Bronx's Cypress Ave in the 70s and 80s translates into a retro of horror-- everything from living in what appeared to be a burned-out, third world country, to being apart of a city-wide crack and smack epidemic, and most importantly, being one of the pioneers of the 1973 movement later dubbed "hip-hop" by Lovebug Starski.
David Ritz, who wrote both Ray Charles' and Marvin Gaye's memoirs, will be the man inking Flash's life story.
In addition to the memoir, Flash is in the studio working on his album, entitled The Bridge, which will be released next year via his very own Adrenaline Entertainment. Although it is not clear as to what kind of material will be on the album-- whether that be a compilation, a series of exclusive cut and mixes, or whatever-- it has been said that the album will be a futuristic take on hip-hop. Which tells us absolutely nothing.
I'll be looking forward to that book.
