A little late, but I was away for a minute, and I'm feeling the song, so it's worth a post. The video is a major step-up from the sloppy, cliche "Dolla Bill." This is the video Nina Sky-featured "Things you Do," which I mentioned a while back:
At first I didn't believe it, but it seems as if Red is finally trying to accelerate his music career. After jumping from label to label, the kid is actually making an effort. If it will pay off, time will only tell. Not sure if anyone is really feeling him though. The album, The Co-Op, drops at the end of this month.

Speaking of making career moves, it seems as if Papoose can't catch a break. The first single he dropped from Nacirema Dream, entitled "Bang it Out," didn't generate enough buzz to pull homie from out of the regional category. Now, he's followed up with "Fitted Hat Low" [listen], which is... definitely a downgrade compared to many of his banging underground hits.
This is an example of underground greats not being able to make a mainstream hit to save their life. Add Saigon, Cory Gunz, and a few others to that list.
SMH. Such a slow friggin news day.
And by the way, I'd hate for Pap to drop, only to literally drop to the bottom of Billboard.

Red Cafe = underrated. But his singles is straight wack. He need to get a real beat, maybe a feature, and put something down.He got some tight shite on mixtapes so dont sleep.
Papoose = Overrated. I'm sorry, but I never felt him. Not after Alphabet Slaughter, not after his verse on the Busta joint, never. I dont like his voice, dont like his flow (which no one seems to notice is more off beat than on) and his lyrics are alright, but instead of spittin tight shite, he write shite that is tight IN THEORY. I cant really explain it, its like that alphabet joint, tight idea, but not very well executed.
On top of that he look like a Gremlin so he gets no lady love which is who be being albums anyway.
Ohhh, am I first?
Papoose's current delema is because he waited too long talking about the same album for like 3 years.
Fisrt..... 1st
Haaaaa
Papoose remind me of Jay-z for some reason. Plus when he raps he's off beat.
Red Cafe = who is this nigga? only reason i know he exsist is because he had a song on Madden 05 (i think). Yes, you correct Reckless, no one outside of NY has heard a song from Red Cafe on their radio. He goes hard on the mic, don't get me wrong. But if he's dropping this month with 0.1% buzz, u can add him to the growing list of NY rappers going 2x plexi-glass after 2002.
Papoose will never blow up, lets hop out of the river called Denile NY. I can't listen to a whole Pap song, cause he has no flow, just words banging together in an often very annoying manner. All he was doin is randomly rhyming words in Alphabets Slaughter, and yall niggas thought he was the next God MC lol. This goes to show u that no matter how well u can 'rap', it's all about making a song the people want to listen to. Soulja Boy did it, 2 these niggas can't?
5 boroughs of death, you don't understand!

Andrew - September 11th
It seem like
Ja rule, lil wayne, dblock, game, fat joes camron fans all form together like voltron on 9/11 to become
Kanye fans
I don't think eople really like kanye west I think they hate 50
How can somebody support a man that carries a purse that support gays that a nigga from off the curb in the slum of southside jamaica queens
I heard both cds I heard the clean curtis and the drty kanye
Curtis>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> kanye that's evenn before I hear the dirty curtis
I still kill is amazing track and 187 ethers everything on grad
There no jesus walk or touch the sky thru the wire some of the beats are bangin can't front and can't tell me nothinn is ill but I get bored wit this soft ass album curtis get 4/5 grad gets a 3.5 for beats but rapping wise kanye would get 2.5
But kanye do get rops for not having buzz before hopped on 9/11 with 50 so he smart business man for that but he did not create any new fans with his singles and relying on his fanbase I say he will push 350 to 500
50 will push 600 the minium of what jay z did
50 is bigger than jay so I expect 600 to 800
He will be platinum worldwide in 1 week
The boy Red Cafe is dope, he's been grinding real hard trying to get the best situation possible and i believe that his time to shyne will eventually come along.

Eddie Griffin thought he'd shock the swells at a big Black Enterprise event over the weekend by littering his act with N-words, but the comic was the one who got the real jolt when the mag's owner gonged his routine, and tossed him off the stage!
Rev. Al Sharpton tells TMZ that Griffin took the stage as the headliner and did his best Michael Richards impression, blistering the mostly African-American crowd with a barrage of N-bombs, and wailing, "Why are some black leaders telling us to stop using the N word?"
Griffin's mike was promptly cut, and Black Enterprise owner/publisher Earl Graves stomped on stage and proclaimed, "We ... will not allow our culture to go backwards ... We will pay Mr. Griffin all that we owe him but we will not allow him to finish the show if that's the way he's going to talk." Oh, snap!
The crowd gave Graves a standing ovation -- and Rev. Al, speaking the next day at the event, gave Graves props for his axing of Griffin. A rep for Griffin had no comment.

Red Cafe and Pap can be the nicest niggas in the world, but who's gonna give a fuck if nobody outside of NY knows they exsist? make a hot record, grab they attention, then show them that it's not a fluke.

i feel what ur saying, but u have to make a hot single to get attention PERIOD. it doesn't have to be a dance song, it just has to be hot. Chamillionare's hottest song was about police profiling, Biggie's was a rags to riches story, Pac's was about a child that had a child. It has to be hot, no matter what the content is. and these niggas are not delivering.

Reck u fool
Red Cafe signed with Akon. So don't worry about his buzz, it will come. All this is for his Koch debut; its the same thing Koch did with Joel Ortiz, bc they wanna capitalize on the buzz of their major label debut..
i love Saigon's new joint!!
So let me get this right.
Papoose gets 1.5 mil from Jive because of the buzz he created from his unique clever subject matter and word play on his mixtape songs.
Once he gets the deal he starts making songs with huge features & big name producers but rather than on clever subjects he raps the same bland shallow subject matter that every rapper in the world is rapping about.
Are we surrounded by retards? Sigh.
How do you go from "Alphabetical Slaughter" and "Sharades" to "Bang it Out" & "Fitted Cap Low"? Papoose said: "The album is your diploma. The mixtapes are high school." This nigga just downgraded to H.S. special ed.
If you're gonna flop...at least flop off of meaningful songs that only a few people appreciate, not off of wack songs nobody likes. At least then you have (at least) a good album to show for it.

During the International Hurricane Katrina and Rita Tribunal we heard all sorts of testimony about white vigilantes ‘hunting’ down Black folks. This was in addition to the widespread police brutality. In some instances New Orleans police were seen riding with and working with white vigilantes who claimed they were protecting their neighborhoods.
Former Black Panther Malik Rahim of the organization Common Ground was witness to white vigilantes who were roaming his neighborhood in Algiers which is located on the West Bank of New Orleans. This was one of the few places in the city that did not experience flooding. It was the only neighborhood in all of New Orleans that still had safe drinking water.
According to Malik, Black people who discovered the what good shape Algiers was in came over seeking refuge. Sadly they found themselves being chased off or gunned down by mobs of angry whites who patrolled the neighborhood. Black people including Malik who were from Algiers found themselves being threatened by their former neighbors.
During his searing testimony Malik offered up a documentary he and his comrades from Common Ground put together. In the documentary we get to see and hear angry white people bragging about how they were shooting and killing Blacks while they were barbecueing. It seems so outlandish to the point of dis-belief until. They went out at night on what they called ‘pheasant Hunts’. Malik estimates that over 200 Blacks lost their lives to white vigilantes.
During his testimony Malik talked about military occupation and how soldiers who came straight from Iraq were brought over to patrol New Orleans. Algiers was ground zero for many of these troops. Malik talks in great detail about Black neighborhoods being under-seiged and Black people being terrorized as bullet ridden Black male bodies were turning up everyday.

Are you going to cop my new cd "Andrew" when it comes out on September 11th?
It's not surprising me that Pap & Red Cafe aren't crossing over. It seems that in order to cross over, you need to have a catchy hook or a dance. And since I don't see neither of them "superman-ing" or "g-sliding" anytime soon, I don't expect them to be mainstream stars. I kinda saw that Pap wouldn't blow b/c he is too lyrical (sorta like Lupe). But, I thought the same thing about Chamillionaire, so hopefully I'm wrong cuz I would like to see REAL talent get REAL money for a change, instead of these "ringtone" rappers

I don't like 2 talk trash when I play, mainly b/c I have a quick temper, & I HATE 2 LOSE, but it's frustrating when U play with a team that has 90+ on offense & defense & still get beat, honestly the EA Sports games R bullshit now, I hate playing NBA Live, especially if I have 2 play against another one of my homies, b/c he'll run with the Lakers, & let Kobe just do whatever he wants, hit 3 pointers with the entire team on him playing "D" I call Kobe Pokemon, b/c on that game, the nigga can reach wherever he wants & STILL poke the ball away, I try that with say, Chauncey Billups, I'll foul out B4 the half. The only EA Sports game worth playing is Tiger Woods PGA Tour 08

That makes you one of the funnest dudes to play against then. I had a homeboy like that back on Tecmo Bowl on the regular Nintendo. I would always pick the Raiders and just smash that fool with Bo Jackson just so he would get aggravated and get up and punch holes in his closet door. That dude would just swing his control at his TV till it just busted up. I'd be like "hold up man, the game ain't over...don't break the remote yet."
The good old days.
