The Western Gorilla's main subspecies — the Western Lowland Gorilla — has been decimated by the Ebola virus, which has wiped out about a third of the gorillas found in protected areas over the last 15 years.

"In the last 10 years, Ebola is the single largest killer of apes. Poaching is a close second," said Peter Walsh, a member if IUCN's Primate Specialist Group, told the AP. "Ebola is knocking down populations to a level where they won't bounce back. The rate of decline is dizzying. If it continues, we'll lose them in 10-12 years."

Female gorillas only start reproducing at the age of 9 or 10 and only have one baby about every five years. Walsh said even in ideal conditions, it would take the gorillas decades to bounce back.

Kanye West's Graduation has reportedly trumped 50 Cent's Curtis in first week sales and is on pace to be the No. 1 album on The Billboard 200 next week.

According to Billboard, Nielsen's SoundScan recently launched Building Charts, a program that tracks weekly sales from eight leading accounts set up by music retailers nationwide including Trans World Entertainment, Best Buy, Borders, CircuitCity, iTunes and Target.

The Building Charts reading for Wednesday afternoon (September 12) revealed that Kanye's Graduation had first week sales of 437,000. Sales for 50 Cent's Curtis sales read off at 310,000 and country singer Kenny Chesney's album, Just Who I Am: Poets and Pirates, shifted 107,000 copies.

A poll and a survey conducted by SOHH before and after both albums from West and 50 leaked onto the internet, both predicted that Kanye would outsell 50 Cent in the first week.

If Graduation sells over 468,000 copies before Sunday (September 16), when the Nielsen SoundScan week officially ends, the album will snatch the title of rap's biggest first-week sales in 2007 from T.I.'s latest effort, T.I. vs. TIP.

Graduation features appearances from boasts guest spots from Mos Def, Coldplay singer Chris Martin, T-Pain, Lil' Wayne, Daft Punk and DJ Premier.

Any rapper who's indie will tell you it costs about $1 to make the artwork and buy the cd. This is if you use another company. So if you do it yourself, you can get thousands of cd's or millions for pennies.

So let's say 300,000 cd's only cost the label $30,000. You think they care about shipping it to the store and then paying the store $2 per cd to buy it back? When you pay $12 for the cd, about $10 of it goes to the label. So the label spends what $600,000 to buy the albums which is TAX DEDUCTIBLE to them as a business expense AND which doesn't mean shit to them.

500,000 records sold generates 5 million for the label. Labels have usually hundreds of artists signed, dropping albums daily. Interscope and Def Jam are making BILLIONS a year. $600,000 is nothing to make your label look better.

I have to agree with him. I love Kanye and I love 50, BOTH their first two singles were wack. If you can't admit that, you're crazy.

Their third singles, 50's "I Get Money" and Kanye's "Good Life" are the only good things either artist released to the radio. Taking that into account, and the fact that Kanye has never, EVER, sold this much...yeah, I can see something nefarious going on.

But it's ALWAYS gone on. If Def Jam were buying his albums it wouldn't be a surprise, that's what they did for Jay-Z wasn't it. We all saw that HUUUUUGE drop off between his first and second week. Dude went from 700k to like 200k in one week, sorry y'all.

Real Talk is right, if 50 was buying back his albums, he'd be winning, but he's not. And Def Jam (the smaller label) has a lot more to lose than Interscope, I see them rushing to Kanye's aid to save face.

The second and third week numbers will settle it all.

I copped both albums and have listend to both through and through. I gave 50 my attention first and of course Ye's second. I have to admit, Ye's albums is ok with about 3-4 tracks that catch u up but on the con side of things towards the middle of his album he becomes a rambler. He just seems to b rambling about nothing he figures is good subtance (NOT!). Now 50's album on the other hand has been mixed to near perfection. I wont say its better than "GRODT" or Da "Mas" but trust me when I tell you, 50 shit is hot. At first u go in expecting that it will in fact be trash bcuz of all the media hate and just hate period but then you start to realize quickly that 50's shit is what you wan to hear more and more (over Ye's) so you start to hear hints of GRODT and a host of past mix tape he's put out. B4 you know it you're at a red light in a big ass truck sitting on 23's and people are listening to your shit bump 50's "I Still Kill", "My Gun Go Off", "Man Down", "I Get It" "Come & Go", "Straight To The Bank", "Fully Loaded Clip", "Curtis 187", " Touch The Sky" and even "Follow My Lead" all solid and fire tracks! U can then see that they realize if they haven't copped it yet and beggining to yawn over Ye's shit they will be back seating that shit real soon or taking it back to the crib to place on the cd rack to bump out 50's joint cuz it very much more better and way more entertaining than Ye's album. Anyhow nobody wants to be preached to all day and that's exactly what's happening when you find yourself listening to Ye's shit after the first run. AND THAT'S 100ED!

Everyone has there own opinion on the albums. I got both of them and I like them both. If I had to say which is better I would probably side with 50's, I think Kayne got a good album but I feel more songs on Curtis.

The interview starts off with 50 responding to questions about any issues with Kanye. As 50 responds to the marketing of both albums, the mood changes and 50 begins talking about his feelings and his recording career.
"I'm not really excited to go sell a record," 50 states. "I probably won't put another album out. If I do put another album out I probably won't travel to promote it."
50 then goes into detail about Curtis in particular...
"The actual release of this record wasn't pleasant for me," 50 continues.
When asked if he has burnt out by the industry, 50 counters"Well not 'burned out', I just don't want to do it... anymore. This is the first time I ever told people publicly what I've been feeling this way for awhile."
He is then asked what his next steps will be and he responds, "I don't know, I'll figure it out. Plus it's comfortable and I'm in a space where I'm rich already. Talk to you later."
And at that point, 50 Cent ended the interview and walked off.
What does it all mean? Is this the end of 50 Cent?

With that being said, Kanye had the better production and lyrics. His content was witty and he said something everyone on here can relate to one way or another. Wasn’t the guy living in a mansion in CT.? 50 is consistent though. The gimmick is up. See, the buying public whether white or black knows thats not “real” life for the majority of people. Its like watching a movie.
