So Remy Ma wasn't quite pursued by the NYPD, which is surprising, but rumors threw her name under the bus in the case of a wounded woman who was shot in the torso just before 4am Saturday morning during a confrontation that took place after leaving a bar in Downtown, Manhattan.

The cops told SOHH yesterday that even though they had spoken with witnesses and Remy was named a suspect, that they "are not releasing any information like that yet. We haven't named any suspect."

remy_Barnes.jpg

The victim, 23-year-old Makeda Barnes-Joseph [pictured far right], is in stable condition at St. Vincent's hospital.

Remy finally turned herself in to a precinct yesteray afternoon. Now, she's sitting in Riker's Island. Where officers lose their lives. She better be careful.

UPDATE: Remy was released from jail on a $250,000 bond Sunday. Barnes-Joseph, who is one of Remy's friends, is rumored to be after a quick payoff; in other words, the whole thing could have been a set-up. However, she claims otherwise:

"All I heard was the gun go off," she said from her bed at St. Vincent's Hospital in Manhattan. "I couldn't believe she shot me! What hurts me is that when she shot me she went over and dumped the bag. She didn't even say, 'Oh, my God, I just shot her.'"
So what is "Shesus Kryst" to do now?

View Barnes' Myspace page.

This is (yawn) Curtis' video for "I Get Money." Everytime I hear him say "I run New York," I think about how he got his album pushed back... for the second time.

Quite cliche. Your typical money-chicks-and-entourage kind of video. Next. This is not a good look for you, homie.

This is a tad bit old, but what's funny is that it's more relevant now than it was when it first came out. Heads up: it's the middle of July.

"I been signed to Diplomat Records since two thousand and fuckin two. I'm droppin June 28th. That's my release date. For all the dumb c*ck-suckin f*ggots who think I'm not droppin an album. June 28th stupid. What the f*ck I look like not droppin an album? Is you crazy? I looked like I killed an album already! Look at me, stupid! Look at me! I looked like I put out an album already n*gga! I been signed to Diplomat Records since two thousand four. Whoever said that I'm not dropping is a mothaf*ckin clown man. What I look like not droppin? I'm one of the most important figures to the 'Set, n*gga. Bleek, you're not hot. Tru Life... I'm not even gonna talk about yall n*ggas no more, man."

I gotta admit although the subject matter for 50 hasn't changed the song is the hardest shit in NY right now mainstream wise which hurts me to say. I think Remy is having bad luck at the right time; mixtape dropping, dropping bodies at the same time. I think we are living in a dead culture right now, where the fuck are we? I mean true story rap used to be diverse and even the hardest rappers back in the day used to be conscious to their surroundings and how fucked up they were and still are. I read a article by wise Intelligent yesterday where he says that the revolutionary in the artist should come before the artistry and I think he's right. I just honestly believe that most rappers are cowards and slaves hence someone owning your masters. I think the hip hop community has to formulate a plan to control itself. Coonery is at an all time high and I think that you need to create instead of kill. Where are the balls on these rappers? I love the LOX but lost so much respect for Jada when he recanted the bush knocked down the towers statement on "WHY". Jimmy iovine got in Jada's ass and he switched up the story, incredible house nigga mentality. I just feel disappointed with hip hop because I don't feel like their are that many people at all who represent me and my positive stance as a Black intellect with the exception of Common, Nas, and Mos Def. I'm for the people, not killing them. I was listening to my cousins CD the other day and it was trash, he's 20 not in school and works at the Hyatt in Manhattan, yet on the CD he's moving bricks running with AK's and Lexmarks, I told him his shit was ass and that if he wanted to really blow he would be himself. I think that these days the rappers attempt to fit the shoes of the position instead of creating a new facet of said position. Why isn't anybody speaking on the issues of aids in the Black Community, the violence that is continually perpetuated in the music. the rappers that talk about it ain't doing all it. The lives that we fictionally paint can come true and art is not imitating life today just the opposite is happening, we're immune to the chaos because we force feed it to ourselves. As a Blackman I'm happy 50's almost a Billionaire but if he ain't helping his community fuck him, same with Jay, he understand the need for clean water in Africa yet continues to Glorify the gamne that is no to be talked about. I mean if you wanna be real with itmost rappers talking about guns and drugs are snitches, white people got all that shit plus tons more but they songs are happy go lucky. They sing about whatever and really get ill with it and bomb a whole fucking country, hit them on the head and take what they got. That's power, the power is in the politics of your community and seeking everyday to make your community and family stronger to resist the bullshit coonery that is "Aye Bay Bay", "Wipe me Down" and just about everything the Ying yang twins have done. Stop fucking Cooning!!! I'm just having a hard time attemping to not slug people other than blacks that i wouldn't wear fronts (a grill) if some one gave them to me. I got a mean two step but I ain't chicken noodle souping it for their viewing pleasure and that my jeans ass stay on my ass instead of on my legs, take your fucking identity back as the people who created Black Wall Street, architectually designed Washington DC and the same people who invented the street light. Wipe me down? Fuck those idiots get you dingity back Black people. until then Get my pool in the backround.

50 SO COOL HE IS APPEAL TO EVERY OTHER RACES BESIDE BLACKS

WHO THE FUCK WANNA HEAR SOME UGLY BROKE BUMS FROM HOODS? WE (IM SOME WHITE/MEXICAN SCENE KID) WE WANNA HEAR THAT COOL SHIT LIKE 50'S

GGGGGG-UNIT THEY THE BEST MAKING US BETTR BANKS BUCK 50 THAT'S WHAT'S UP

@RECKLESS THE HOTTEST RECORD OUT..

NOW I UNDERSTAND WHY UR CALLED RECKLESS(UR A CLOWN) PERIOD.

50'S HOT OUT THERE AGAIN NIGGA, KEEP HATIN ALL U WANT BUT WHEN THE ALBUM DROPS U'LL SEE WHAT HE MEANS BY ''I RUN NEW YORK...FAGGOT...

Wow. It looks like 50 had a $10 budget for that video. The theme is stereotypical rap industry cooning just as the song's lyrics are. That being said I love the beat on the song if that means anything.

Your blog title is misleading and the blog on Remy in general is confusing. Remy is not on Rikers for murder, but attempted murder. Did you do that on purpose?

Did Hell Rell's CD drop?

Aye.when u got a trillion dollars in tha bank, what else can u rap about.ill rap bout my bread all day 2...shiit,fuck that.I wouldn't be rappin at all lol.

I tried to give SOHH.com another chance and once again you proved to me that your all haters just like Benzino, get off 50 case he does run NY if he don't who is runnin it. I Get Money is the summer banger and SOHH.com is the only site that seems to think different. For real I am really done with your site and I will stick to Allhiphop.com, and HiphopDX.com sites that know hiphop regaurdless who makes it. Peace For Good

Rap is corny. Hell Rell sounds like a lame trying hard to sound hard and look hard. These people are ignorant and should be ignored.

Remy must've been high. What type of men would've stood by and let that happen? Lames that's who. Those dudes with her were chumps.

50 has been the biggest artist not just in NY but the game for the last 4yrs. People hate him because their opinion of what hip hop is or should be isn't winning.

Rap is tired. EVERYONE is too old. The artists, blog writers, radio personalities, etc.

Immaturity is en vogue thanks to rap. Time to grow up people and be adults. If you're +30 forget about rapping. If you're +25 forget about "keeping it Gangsta."

So many people have to wait for adulthood to become cool teens. If you're a +25yr old cool teen then you're a lame ass adult.

Go Check out Talkin Vids blog today Fam, You know what it is.

Damn Nirod you spittin that fire this morning. I don't know if I agree with you totally. You can be an older rapper as long as you are not rapping about immature topics, such as I get money over and over again. There are older hip hop fans who would love to hear a rapper talking about things that effect them. Believe me when I tell you that you don't outgrow a love of music. As for radio DJs it takes time and experience to work your way up to that position so they can only be but so young.

U accidentally signed Nimrod instead of Bird, Bird. I thought that was odd I was like why is he having a convo with himself.

Sorry

graet post big sun as usual, what more is there to say....

I guess I was thinking about you real hard Nimrod. I accidentally typed your name in the signature. :)

Remy is wildin!!!! Damm she is illin!!!... On tha real!!!

Hip Hop began as music for teens by teens. By the time rappers hit 24 they were once considered old. Hammer was 27 and everyone complained about him being old. LL called him an old gym teacher in one of his songs. Nowadays rappers don't get deals until they're 27. The lyrical content has aged tremendously as far as vulgarity and subject matter due to the increasing age of artists BUT the primary consumers of the music remain young people and that's where the problem lies. In order to relate to the consumer the artists are rewarded for childish behavior. They don't look like kids so the next best thing is to act like them.

Big Sun

You know what they say about black people not reading. The fact that your posts are long means many bloggers are not reading it. You be spittin some serious knowledge that they could at least store in their minds for later use. I just fear they are not reading it.

all I hear nowadays is stop cooning from others and stop acting white from the rest...BE YOUR FUCKING SELF....don't listen to any asshole on the internet thats for damn sure, ie. big sun, lol your fuckin hypocrite son...you talked a bunch of shit about white ppl havin all that shit and bomb countries...but you wanan blame hip hop for the problems that the world faces today??? you contradicted urself way to quickly...nothin else you say EVER on this website can have any intellgence to it.

OMG once again these writers on SOHH are hatin on 50.....I mean dayum leave the man alone he got the hardest record out right now.....it's favored by all the DJ's on HOT 97....don't believe me? hit me up and I'll give you the link to the interview 50 did before the premiere of the video & everyone one giving positive reviews on it....but NEwayz, I wonder what other shit ya'll gonna be talkin on 50 once that week comes and he sold 600,000 + records....go ahead and keep hatin cuz all ya'll niggas is doing is promoting him and building up more hype....GET EM 50!!!!!!!!!!

I'd have to disagree with that whole statement. When LL started out as a teen he was considered to be VERY young in the game. That was not the norm. It used to be that it took some life experience and a level of intelligence to write a rhyme. Further men talking about how many hoes they smash, how much money they're getting on the street corner and how many negroes they killed for looking at them wrong is not a sign of being too old. It is a sign of ignorance and should be expected from a teenager and not a grown man and shouldn't be acceptable by either.

@Bird

100% co-sign, We as a people don't read enough. Its like our Great-Grandparents fought and suffered for all these rights and then we didn't do anything at all with them.
Me personally I've always loved to read, I've probubly read hundreds of books. On the other hand I can't get my brother to read my posts.

Big Sun always comes with some thought provoking posts. I only come to the NY blog to see what the young revolutionary has to say.

@ Big Sun:
The people don't want enlightenment. They love ignorance, that's a Fact. When so-called "positive" rappers come out, people don't buy them, mainly because they suck and you can't move to it. Black People dance. Having said that, if all rap was preaching, it would suck too. Just because you can't feel a song doesn't make it trash. "Wipe Me Down" is a dope ass track. Your cuz will sell big talking about what he is becuz people want that. If you want to find a concious rapper, just go to any loading dock, that's where they're working.

More so than the lyrics what I'm most offended by are the images of black people presented as the norm in hip hop. I recently opened a XXL and saw a picture of Webbie and Lil Boosie. Both were tatoo'd and shirtles wearing tacky jewels. One had a medallion which read "Dope Zone." They might as well had been wearing blackface. They and their kind are the modern day minstrels and Tupac was the prototype.

The only way to deal with their like is to separate ourselves from them. Some people don't want to change so let them reap what they sow. It would help if images like that wasn't promoted on TV, radio and in magazines. Without the attention maybe these morons would just go away.

@Bird

You're right. LL was considered very young but I don't think I referenced HIS age anywhere in my post. Typically, rappers were 18-19yrs old when they dropped their first album and as far as life experiences go then as today rappers relied mostly on what they saw or resorted to the now played out bragadoccio style. (well maybe it's not so played out. LOL!)

Anyway, do your research and you'll see all the great rappers from that era whether Rakim, Kane, KRS, G Rap, etc, had peaked before their 23rd birthday. They tended to come on the scene around 18 and drop an album every year. By the 3rd album all had slipped.

Be easy Bird. I like you. LOL! ;)

Btw, no disrespect to anyone but the school system in the NE was excellent in those days and produced MC's who actually understood the vocabulary. Not to mention the incorporation of the five percenter teachings which was prevalent at the time. Cats from other areas couldn't keep up so they dumbed it down and now we've followed suit... The blind leading the blind.

Just because you can't feel a song doesn't make it trash. "Wipe Me Down" is a dope ass track. Your cuz will sell big talking about what he is becuz people want that. If you want to find a concious rapper, just go to any loading dock, that's where they're working.

I never said that, and I never said that Remy deserved it. I pray for people's repentance, not their destruction.

Vengeance is the Lords...not mine.

I'm just sayin....people think it's a game, and like it ain't nothin to be concerned with by doing something like that. What I'm sayin is when you do it, then it happens like that....don't be surprised. That's my point, yet people still blind to it and the world would rather believe in the theory of "coincidence" than the idea of accountability.

I will continue to pray for change.

Just because poeple are starting to get tired of 50 and his usual theatrics does not make you a hater. Were folks Ja haters when they chose to go in another direction????? 50 is basically becoming what he was supposedly so against (singing on every hook, starting beefs he won't finish, walking around with his shirt like some greased up homo) and basically became that. Everyone sees it now. It's just some of you die hards won't realize it. and to be honest that's ok too. Reality will set in. Everyone's "lil day" comes....and his appears to be coming at a record pace. When have you known 50 to keep pushing a "supposed great album" back. I can refresh your memory. It was around the time of the "massacre" trash ass album that even he admits was trash....lol He doesn't have the Game or Dre to blame this time around should this album do just as bad on it's opening week. and for those dropping first week numbers for him 600K would be awful for him. That would be 50K more than T.I. opening week. Not a good look for the guy who "runs NY"....lmao He wants to release it world wide so the numbers look sick! Don't you Gunit groupies get it. He doesn't give a fuck if some kid in Germany gets the same time as a kid on Fulton gets it. He just wants the soundscan number to be high. So when you see 900K in the first week "worldwide" you'll be like "oh shit, I got to go and cop that". Oh and don't hate on SOHH. Maybe SOHH is the only site that refuses to dick ride!!!

Second it should not matter how old you are in the rap game, just stay relavent. The minute you feel as your not.....leave and don't return. That looks worst then coming out and straight flopping!

As music and artist matures...so does the fan. Don't cut folks out because their over 25. We all have to grow, remember that. Almost everyone that controls their piece of the music industry (and I mean really controls the music industry) is well over 35.
Russell Simmons--Lyor Cohen--Kevin Liles--Jay-Z--L.A. Reid--J. Prince--Hollywood (Slip and Slide)--Jermaine Dupri--Suge (at one time)--Clive Davi

You can see where I'm going with this.

But hurry up...get off the block, the whole world needs change and you takin too long up there.

@Triple OG...what up DJ Bazerk. lol

@Boston George

I don't know of any black man in the music business who runs anything. Jay-Z, Russell Simmons, Kevin "House Nigger" Liles and the rest are merely the gateways through which corporate America exploits black imagery. Their co-sign is required to dupe the likes of you.

They're not even after OUR dollars because we're so fickle. All they need is the illusion that what they put forth originated in the "hood" and is therefore "cool" to get the money from the white kids fascinated with "black culture."

Rap once mirrored what was happening in the streets but now the streets reflect what is happening in rap and none of the black people you mentioned control that. Rather, they are handsomely rewarded for aiding and abetting in the total exploitation of our community by those who care nothing about us.

I don't hate rap because I've done worse but at least I was aware of what I was doing. I'm sick of NIGGERS acting as if hip hop is all we have when it has so little to do with us anymore.

Black music is controlled by, Doug Morris, Jimmy Iovine, Edgar Bronfman, Lyor Cohen, Clive Davis, Tommy Mottola, etc. All white and most sexual deviants. The negroes you mentioned will do a jig and shuffle their feet for 30 pieces of silver and people like you desperate for heroes embrace them and uphold them.

Take off your bandana, uptowns, throwbacks George. While you're at it pull your pants up and take off those sunglasses at night.

Time for you to grow up too and find another hustle.

Remy=Blasphemy... I know others were crucified but clearly her intent was to put herself in the same shoes as Christ himself. So maybe she'll really feel what it's like to be publicly humiliated. But to me it's a publicity stunt to follow her mixtape cover, which I believe will not work in her favor. Cops wasn't even looking for her as the prime suspect. People stoop to whatever for attention these days, that's when you know your soul has been exchanged for dollars and fame. Ne way Hell Rell is not that nice, and no one is checking for him.

And you sit around thinking that somebody like me ain't workin to bring heaven to earth and you confused.

I'm down here grinding for change

The people don't want enlightenment. They love ignorance, that's a Fact. When so-called "positive" rappers come out, people don't buy them, mainly because they suck and you can't move to it." Black People dance.

Posted by: T from ATL at July 16, 2007 9:12 AM

Y'all act like it would kill U 2 listen 2 some Common, Talib Kweli or any other MC who's conscious every now & then, honestly, all of this "Wipe Me Down" & "Ay Bay Bay" business is redundant, call me a hater, b/c I know most of U will, but y'all say the same thing about how positive rappers suck & act as if that is justification. Last time I checked, we as a people were 2 fuckin' broke 2 party like rockstars, we have so many problems going on in "the hood" Black on Black crime, poor education, police brutality, AIDS, poor healthcare, drugs, racism, yet these issues R not addressed in songs.

I can't believe some of y'all work so hard 2 be so stupid

My post from the SOHH Ya Heard blog:

As for Remy, she goin to hell for that CD cover unless she get on her knees and repent. God don't like ugly. I see bad things in her future.

Posted by: Bird at July 11, 2007 11:43 AM

I don't get on the blog and preach like my boy PZ, but I am a Christian and I knew Remy was going down and it took less than a week. Some things are just taking it too far. Remy is no Jesus Christ as she was referring to herself. That was blasphemy of the highest order.

I don't expect anyone to understand. It comes from seeing it over and over again that you finally get the picture about how the Lord works and Satan for that matter. God provided some level of protection for Remy because her friend is not dead despite being shot twice at close range, but Remy is gonna have a few years in prison to take stock of her life. Hopefully she'll come out a better person. In the mean time her children will have to live without here.

Look around or maybe you should just look in the mirror. It's not a coincidence that excessive tatoos became style after Pac. He IS the prototype and that's a nice way of saying the obvious.

It's your misconception that Christians just sit around and look at the sky which is off base.

My response to you about "get off the block"...you God right...then why you earnin your money from another man?

It may sound sarcastic...but it's a straight up question. I don't come on pushing nothing, I state my beliefs when the opportunity affords itsel..and then you chirp up like a lil bird to create the tension and debate. I NEVER come on pushing nothing...I just don't back down from you clowns. And call that judging or whatever you want homeboy, but I call it like I see it.

You get MOST defensive when I call you on NOT DOING NOTHING. My point is..if you not doin nothin, then you are part of the problem. And if you a "god"...how can you be working against yourself? Anyway...like I said...I ain't gonna debate this stuff.

Like Bird said, I can't expect you to understand. Regarding Dre.....don't bring my discussions with that man up when me and you are talking, that man got's my respect. Me and him have been through all this for a long time on the blog. I was askin that man serious questions that came up over the weekend to hear his side..I wasn't talkin to you.

So if me being me bothers you...then worry about what you need to do to do you. I ain't gonna debate with you how I need to do me, I don't come on here to do that...but when you constantly chirpin in like a lil child at dinner when I'm talkin to grown folks, expect me to address you. So check it...look back and tell me where I just come on pointin at anybody...and realize, the best way to find that is to look in the mirror.

If the shoe fits, put it on and kick yaself in the butt with it.

@Dre..I wasn't tryin to disrespect..you know that. I could holla at you on email if that'd be better.

And @Brooklyn B...if you really wanna talk thangs with me let me know and I'll email you too. You the one for the lil public display of nonsense..that ain't me. Keep your ignorance to yourself and dont' address me with it, and then I won't ball the BS up and throw it back to you. Cuz I don't want it.

Yoooo Yoooo!

Peas to the real, already.

I see Reck is hatin again. This bitch should change her name to SOHH HATERISH, real talk.
That shits a BANGER, hes got a CONTORTIONIST in that shit, and how he harasses about his baby's moms n shit. That shits dope. The song is about money ya dumb bitch, what you want some jesus walks, diamonds are forever, Kanghey video? Fuck Outta here bitch.

50 is a sell-out. When is the last time you heard him make something uplifting for his community. Now that KRS-ONE video is what real hip-hop is about.

just b/c u just went and googled up a word don't make u know what ur talking about.

Prior to Tupac did anyone see all these shirtless tatoo'd artists?
^^^^^
Last i checked being "tatoo'd" up was a hood thang (atleast where i'm from) and how do u even know that they were pac fans? Go to there hoods and see all the men, women, and kids that are tatted up that are not rappers. Oh, i geuss PAC started that and made them want to do that too?!! Or better yet i'll put that blame on D4Ls new single tat tat tatted up!

Try using logic instead of words that you heard on the history channel next time folk.

SHALOM

It's funny how the double standards on this site never end....TI does 487K his first week and that's great...but if 50 does 50 K more than that..then it's not good enough...

Jay had his best opening week numbers on kingdom come yet people downplay the album like it was not good...I guess cause no one was pop lock and dropping on the album...

50 put out a dman good record where he is not harmonizing on the hook and people still find a reason to hate..they talk about the video....

did any of yall think that maybe since sales are down niggas are cutting corners so that they can recoup more?? if you spend less on a video then it's more profit in your pocket.....learn the bussiness end of things before your make certain comments...

all in all..if yall can sit there and listen to TI say he is the king and no one step up to take his title...then why is it such a hard pill to swallow when 50 says he runds NY...

just like someone said earlier...he is the biggest star in rap right now...hate him or love him..

Y'all act like it would kill U 2 listen 2 some Common, Talib Kweli or any other MC who's conscious every now & then. Last time I checked, we as a people were 2 fuckin' broke 2 party like rockstars, we have so many problems going on in "the hood" Black on Black crime, poor education, police brutality, AIDS, poor healthcare, drugs, racism, yet these issues R not addressed in songs.

@ Dre Guevara:
Black People partied during Slavery, the Civil Rights Movement, and Today. Dancing and Celebrating is part our our African heritage. If you want to walk around angry all the time, be my guest. It won't change anything. I like Boosie, I like Common. It's possible to like both. I don't like a lot of "concious" rap because the production sucks on a lot of it. Spitting 88 bars over the "Shook Ones' beat wont work here. You all are looking for something from ENTERTAINERS they can't provide. If you want to enlighten your hood, DO IT. Stop looking for Russel or Com to do it for you. Common and Talib are signed to record deals and trying to sell just like Boosie and Wayne. The industry is the industry.

Ya know, the image wasn't the worst thing. She referred to herself as Jesus Christ albeit with an ignorant ghetto spelling. That is blasphemy. As someone said last week, Jesus was not the only person to ever be crusified. I am not aware that Kanye referred to himself as Jesus and as a matter of fact he put out a gospel rap that was well received. I see good things in his future.

Anyway I don't like to discuss religion too much on blogs because each person's spiritual walk is a personal matter.

@Dre

This weekend, I was thinking about when you said last week that man creates knowledge. But isn't knowledge something that is discovered and gained...not created??? If not..why do we "seek" something that is not there.

Also...as I was thinking about it, and after reading up more on Scientology....what is the difference in 5% and scientology?

Posted by: PZ at July 16, 2007 10:15 AM

I said that 2 create something from nothing, is the manifestation of knowledge, knowledge is something that is also gained, yet we teach that Knowledge is the basic foundation of all things in existence, like man is the foundation of his family & the sun is the foundation of the solar system.

Honestly, I think Scientology is a joke.

@Tool On Deck

I guess your idea of "logic" is name calling. LOL! Am I supposed to sound ignorant to make you feel comfortable? You're one of those people who've bought into the concept wherever black people live is the hood. Poor kid. You need help and a hug. LOL!

Tattoo's have historically been part of an outlaw culture. Most black men who served time in prison or the military would get one or two. Most women with tats tended to be whores, strippers or women of ill repute. Go get your dictionary so you can keep up today. Class is in session moron. I'm gonna learn ya whether ya like it or not. LOL!

I'm not going to go further because I'm really casting my pearls before swine with you. Hopefully someone else will see this because I know you're a waste of time.

Shalom? Bet you think that's some cool shit to say... Grow up lil boy.

@T from ATL

You are ignorant as fuck cuz. You sound like one of these sell-out ass rappers who go mainstream and forget about their people. I don't give a fuck who likes to dance, we have a responsibility to uplift and preserve our hip-hop nation. We should not be cooning and promoting ignorance just to make a buck.

I guess cause no one was pop lock and dropping on the album...

Fuck everyone else . . . YOU put my name out there so I'm addressing YOU on that bitch move, bitch. The reason why I'm taking offense is because I come back from the bathroom and see my goverment name on the blog. Just because you have your personal information out there, doesn't mean everyone else wants there's to be known.

Secondly you don't know shit. One week your saying it X-facta doing all the Stanning then a week later your saying it's Xcl..bkdude (whatever his name is)

Frankly, I think there is nothing worse than being accused for something your not guilty of doing!!!

This a fucking blog!!! Not Church but a blog that me an others come on to talk shit everyday while at work.

There are more important issues in the world you should be addressing since you have taken on the "we are the world" title.

You’re the biggest critic on here, any time we say anything that doesn't agree with you or your bible you make it your mission to be Christ's spokesman. I already know your going to respond by saying you connect with people by using the blog . . .who cares on how many people you claim to have connected with outside of the blog!! That's good, now go talk that Jesus shit with them, not us!! My point is there are billions of people in the world to talk religion with. It's like your beating a dead horse.

Then you start throwing hissy fits and say "I speak the truth, that's why everyone is always attacking me".

No niggas attack you because WE come in here to bust it up about hip hop and current events (sometimes religion, but not every fucking day).

You seriously need a life outside of this blog.

No..I didn't not say that God made her. Don't put words in my mouth.

Check this...to me, everything in existence is either CAUSED by God, or ALLOWED by God.

Check the book of Job. Job was the most righteous man alive, and yet God allowed satan to come test him. His own wife told Job to "curse God" for what he was going through, and he wouldn't. God ALLOWED the roof to fall in on Jobs family and kill them all. Did he cause it? NO. Did he allow it? YES. You see...satan had to ask permission too.

My point is that God allowed it to happen. When people begin to understand that it is not a battle of the flesh, but rather one in spirit...and it's good vs evil...YEP..just like that.

So she is on that cover claimin to be "shesus", mocking the very nature of Jesus.

Now if guilty, Remy will be callin on the name of Jesus from prison...apologizing and repenting. All while no longer being a factor in furthering the nonsense she is doing here on the streets.

The lady shot will live.

What was meant for bad can and will be used for good.

why is it only like 5 people responding to each other? you niggas need to go to oprah. if you don't like rap or the street shit then don't come to hip hop blogs and listen to rap! buy some gospel music. and nimrod sound like he too old to be accepted as "cool" or maybe u just a lame. stop judging others actions and go to church biatch!

You're one of those people who've bought into the concept wherever black people live is the hood. Poor kid. You need help and a hug. LOL!
^^^^
Well, I actually reside in Dekalb county (Lithonia to be exact) which is the 2nd wealthiest black county in America only behind Maryland's Prince George County. So I would know about the whole concept of "wherever black people live is the hood". Plus i'm a Commerical Real Estate Agent who Specialize in CDCs (those are community development corporations for the uninformed. Keep ur help and your hug, i'll settle for the knowledge.

LOL!
^^^^^^^
Lets Get It!!!
Just a brief history of tattoos homie (i got 2 myself)
the word tattoo is said to has two major derivations- from
the polynesian word ‘ta’ which means striking something
and the tahitian word ‘tatau’ which means ‘to mark something’.
the history of tattoo began over 5000 years ago and is as
diverse as the people who wear them.
Just a few cultures that has been getting tatted up for ever! I just that they were all thugging let u tell it...lol!

The STARTER
bronze age
in 1991, a five thousand year old tattooed man ‘ötzi the ice man’
made the headlines of newspapers all over the world when
his frozen body was discovered on a mountain between
austria and italy.
this is the best preserved corpse of that period ever found.
the skin bears 57 tattoos: a cross on the inside of the left knee,
six straight lines 15 centimeters long above the kidneys and
numerous parallel lines on the ankles.
the position of the tattoo marks suggests that they were probably
applied for therapeutic reasons (treatment of arthritis).

PAZYRYK culture
in 1948, 120 miles north of the border between russia and
china, russian archeologist sergei rudenko began excavating
a group of tombs, or kurgans, in the high altai mountains of
western and southern siberia. mummies were found that date
from around 2400 years ago.
the tattoos on their bodies represent a variety of animals.
the griffins and monsters are thought to have a magical
significance but some elements are believed to be purely
decorative. altogether the tattoos are believed to reflect the
status of the individual.

EGYPT
written records, physical remains, and works of art relevant to
egyptian tattoo have virtually been ignored by earlier egyptologists
influenced by prevailing social attitudes toward the medium.
today however, we know that there have been bodies recovered
dating to as early XI dynasty exhibiting the art form of tattoo

JAPAN
the earliest evidence of tattooing in japan is found in the form
of clay figurines which have faces painted or engraved to
represent tattoo marks. the oldest figurines of this kind have
been recovered from tombs dated 3,000 BC or older, and many
other such figurines have been found in tombs dating from the
second and third millennia BC.

CHINA
from southern china the practice spread along the silk route.

POLYNESIA
in pacific cultures tattooing has a huge historic significance.
polynesian tattooing is considered the most intricate and
skillful tattooing of the ancient world.
polynesian peoples, believe that a person's mana, their spiritual
power or life force, is displayed through their tattoo.

NEW ZEALAND
the maori of new zealand had created one of the most impressive
cultures of all polynesia. their tattoo, called ‘moko’, reflected their
refined artistry - using their woodcarving skills to carve skin.

INDONSIA
borneo is one of the few places in the world where traditional
tribal tattooing is still practiced today just as it has been for
thousands of years.

INDIA/THAILAND
hanuman in india was a popular symbol of strength on
arms and legs. the mythical monk is still today one of the
most popular creations in thailand and myanmar.

AFRICA
in africa, where people have dark skin, it is difficult to make
coloured tattoos as we know them.
but they want to be tattooed anyway, so they have developed
another technique - they make scarifications (this is not really
tattooing, but it is related to tattooing). made by lifting the skin a little,
and making a cut with a knife or some other sharp thing
special sands or ashes were rubbed in to make raised scars
in patterns on the body, it can be felt like braille lettering.

ANCIENT GREECE AND ROME
the greeks learnt tattooing from the persians.
their woman were fascinated by the idea of tattoos as
exotic beauty marks.
the romans adopted tattooing from the greeks.
roman writers such as virgil, seneca, and galenus reported that
many slaves and criminals were tattooed.

THE CELTS
were a tribal people who moved across western europe in times
around 1200 and 700 B.C. they reached the british Isles around
400 B.C. and most of what has survived from their culture is in
the areas now known as ireland, wales and scotland.
celtic culture was full of body art.
permanent body painting was done with woad, which left a blue
design on the skin.

CENTRAL & SOUTH AMERICA
in peru, tattooed inca mummies dating to the 11th century
have been found. 16th century spanish accounts of mayan tattooing
in mexico and central americareveal tattoos to be a sign of courage.

NORTH AMERICA
early jesuit accounts testify to the widespread practice of
tattooing among native americans.
among the chickasaw, outstanding warriors were recognised
by their tattoos. among the ontario iroquoians, elaborate
tattoos reflected high status. in north-west america,
inuit women's chins were tattooed to indicate marital status
and group identity.

MIDDLE-EAST
during the time of the old testament, much of the pagan world
was practicing the art of tattooing as a means of deity worship.

VIKINGS
it is very likely that the vikings were tattooed.
at around year 1100 the arab ibn fadlan described a
meeting with some vikings. he thought them very rude, dirty
and covered with pictures.

ENGLAND
explorers returned home with tattooed polynesians
to exhibit at fairs, in lecture halls and in dime museums,
to demonstrate the height of european civilization compared
to the ‘primitive natives’.
after captain cook returned from his voyage to polynesia
tattooing became a tradition in the british navy.

FRANCE
in the 18th century, many french sailors returning from voyages
in the south pacific had been tattooed.
in 1861, french naval surgeon, maurice berchon, published a study
on the medical complications of tattooing.
after this, the navy and army banned tattooing within their ranks.

Posted by: T From ATL at July 16, 2007 10:58 AM

it's not about being angry all the time, U can be conscious & make music 2 party & dance 2, alot of rappers did back in the Golden Era, & don't even trip, b/c I strive 2 keep my people in the hood enlightened, so no, I'm not looking 4 Russell Simmons 2 change a damn thing either, fuck him 2, but U're absolutely right, the industry IS the industry, it's been dumbed down 4 the love of $, & all I'm saying is that there needs 2 be that balance again, Lil Wayne (no Slim, I'm not dissin' him) & Lil' Boosie & all the other Lil's & Youngs' R being force fed by the industry 2 the young fans 2 like these so-called "Hot" rappers, it's cool 2 play that on the radio, but @ the same time, play some Black Star & some of the other who don't glamorize & promote coonery.
Think about it, anytime a rap group is denied video or radio play 4 being "too intelligent" that should be a sign that something is wrong in the industry, but hey, if that's what the masses wanna hear, so be it, just stop talking down on the positive MCs, then calling the fans of those MCs haters b/c they choose not 2 follow what is considered the norm.

Shareholders are technically the ones who run major corporations, but 9 times out of 10 these "White execs" are the majority shareholder of the company they work for. When major decisions are made by the share holders they usually vote on it. If you own the majority shares of a company you can veto shit like the president.

RealtyTrac™ (www.realtytrac.com), the leading online marketplace for foreclosure properties, today released its first annual 2006 U.S. Metropolitan Foreclosure Market Report, which ranks the foreclosure rates of the top 100 metropolitan areas. This year’s report, based on data captured over the first quarter of 2006, shows Indianapolis, Atlanta and Dallas having the highest foreclosure rates among the nation’s largest 100 metropolitan areas. Cities in the Sun Belt and Rust Belt generally had the highest foreclosure rates in the first quarter of 2006, while cities in the Northeast and Gulf Coast documented some of the lowest.

RealtyTrac publishes the largest national database of pre-foreclosure and foreclosure properties, with more than 600,000 properties in more than 2,500 counties across the country, and is the foreclosure data provider to MSN Real Estate, Yahoo! Real Estate, AOL Real Estate and Knight Ridder Online.

“Indianapolis narrowly edged out Atlanta as the city with the highest foreclosure rate in Q1,” said James J. Saccacio, chief executive officer of RealtyTrac. “Most of the cities with the highest foreclosure rates have above-average unemployment rates and below-average home price appreciation. Unemployment is a major reason why homeowners stop making mortgage payments, and slow home price appreciation can make it harder for homeowners in default to refinance or sell to stop foreclosure.”

Saccacio added that other economic factors such as decreasing affordability, rising interest rates and speculative buying can also fuel foreclosures. He cited Jacksonville, Fla. and Las Vegas Nevada, both of which documented foreclosure rates in the top 10 despite below-average unemployment and above-average home price appreciation.

“Because of the high home prices in many areas, more home buyers have stretched themselves financially with creative, and often risky financing that involves adjustable interest rates, interest only and negative amortization loans” he said. “Home buyers with these types of loans are more susceptible to default and foreclosure when interest rates move higher

Jesus came in the order of the laws God gave moses "not to destroy it but to fulfill it"

Thus it was pharaseetical priests who called for His death. The Lamb of God who takes the sin of the world.

He was done by men -- not the devil.

Now I gotta get on my PZ/Big Sun type shit. If Blacks just had it SOOOOOO easy, we wouldn't have had such a relevant history now would we??? (No offense) White people's history dates back as far as past the biblical days (depending on what you believe) and yet today, u have so many anti-christ, atheists, and homo-superior white folks. The main part of Black history is mostly starting at our entry into slavery days, which is something NO Black man can deny as being part of their heritage. There is tragedy in every positive part of life, so we lost 40 acres and hundreds of people fought for us so that today Blacks would be able to enjoy and appreciate the concept of freedom. Main Point: If you started at the top, would you really appreciate being at the top as much as if you had to work from the bottom to get there??

What's that got to do with property value of houses??? And that's just like that article up there, it's another half truth. The census bureau calculates how many people per square mile of a given city, state, etc. That don't say how rich or poor they are or how much money that city generates. Based on that, it could be 10 poor people in PG county living next to 1 rich person, and PG would be the poorest county. Do some more research on that 1 and get the math right.

That statement is true and false. PG has prolley the highest murder rate amongst Black counties, true. But once again, there is more to that story. PG is also the largest county PERIOD in the state of Maryland based on population. As is the case with most large populated counties, most of that population lives in the hood/ghetto (where I was born and raised), where 95% of the murder/crime takes place. Where I live now (clinton,md) is still PG county, but considered "boondocks" cuz it aint that citified, but the murder rate out here is low. Furthermore, the property value, of course, in the hood is lower, but in clinton, houses is going up. Same is the case with dekalb. Well, lucky for you the Census website doesn't have information on counties. But I did find an article in the NY post that proves the claim you made about mortage fraud invalid:

ATLANTA — Despite a vibrant local economy, Atlanta homeowners are falling behind on mortgage payments and losing their homes at one of the highest rates in the nation, offering a troubling glimpse of what experts fear may be in store for other parts of the country.

The real estate slump here and elsewhere is likely to worsen, given that most of the adjustable rate mortgages written in the last three years will be reset with higher interest rates, said Christopher F. Thornberg, an economist with Beacon Economics in Los Angeles. As a result, borrowers of an estimated $800 billion in loans will be forced in the next 12 months to 18 months to make bigger monthly payments, refinance or sell their homes.

A big reason the fallout is occurring faster here is a Georgia law that permits lenders to foreclose on properties more quickly than in other states. The problems include not just people losing their homes, but also sharp declines in property values, particularly in lower-income and working-class neighborhoods.

For example, a three-bedroom house near Turner Field, where the Atlanta Braves baseball team plays, fetched a high bid late last month of $134,000 at an auction by the bank that took possession of it. Almost three years ago, the new home was bought for $330,000.

While the surge in foreclosures in other big cities like Cleveland, New Orleans and Detroit can be attributed to local economic challenges, Atlanta more closely reflects the nation. Its unemployment rate, 4.9 percent in May, is low and close to the national average of 4.5 percent. And businesses here are adding jobs, albeit at a slower pace than they were last year.

Like others across the country, homeowners here took out aggressive mortgages in the last few years when interest rates were low and housing prices were soaring. Now many are falling behind — some have lost jobs or experienced other financial difficulties, but many others are not able to refinance because their homes are worth less than they paid for them and their credit is now too weak for them to qualify for another loan.

So far, the pain has been limited to those on the financial margins, but as more loans are reset to higher rates and home prices continue to slide, more homeowners will be unable to meet rising payments or to refinance. “This is a process that is starting low and will go high,” said Mr. Thornberg, the economist in Los Angeles.

Atlanta also serves as a microcosm for some broader national trends: wages have been stagnant for much of this decade, homeowners have taken on record amounts of debt, and mortgage fraud has been on the rise.

“We are a very affordable place,” said Mike Alexander, the chief of research at the Atlanta Regional Commission, an organization that serves local governments. “But our incomes are very low, and if anything went wrong, it would be very hard for people to maintain their homes.”

An estimated 2.7 percent of all housing units in the region were in foreclosure at the end of last year, up from 1.1 percent in 2000, according to an analysis by the commission. Nationally, less than 1 percent of all housing units were in foreclosure, according to data from the Mortgage Bankers Association and the Census Bureau.

Though Atlanta has added jobs in recent years, they pay less than the jobs the region lost after the technology boom of the late 1990s ended. The median household income was only 7.6 percent higher in 2005 than in 2000, according to the Census Bureau. That is about half the rate of inflation during that period, and it mirrors what has occurred nationally.

While wages have languished, average Atlanta families are shouldering more debt. As of March, residents had bigger credit card balances, mortgages and car loans relative to their income than average Americans, according to data compiled by Moody’s Economy.com. And the equity that Atlanta residents have in their homes — the value of their house minus what they owe — has dropped 14 percent since peaking in late 2005.

By comparison, in California — the state where mortgage lending was most aggressive, real estate prices climbed fastest and homeowners have the highest debt burdens — home equity values have dropped about 10 percent from their peak in 2005.

Georgia’s foreclosure laws have also accelerated a process that can drag on for months in legal proceedings in other states. Lenders can declare a borrower in default and reclaim a house in as little as 60 days.

“Because of the foreclosure laws, it may be that people go from delinquency into foreclosure much more quickly in Georgia,” said Mark Zandi, chief economist at Moody’s Economy.com.

That still would not explain why so many people fall behind on house payments in the first place.

At the end of March, 6 percent of all mortgages in Georgia were more than 30 days past due, the fourth-highest rate in the nation, according to the Mortgage Bankers Association. Mississippi, Louisiana and Michigan had more loans past due.

Rajeev Dhawan, an economics professor at Georgia State University, has started studying the characteristics of loans on homes that are in foreclosure. His preliminary analysis of data from April shows that nearly half were for adjustable rate mortgages and many were issued in the last two years.

“Everybody thought if the home prices kept going up, the lenders will keep refinancing you,” he said.

In recent years, industry groups and law enforcement agencies have also cited Atlanta for being home to some aggressive mortgage fraud schemes. It may have been an easier target because the prices of homes in the same neighborhood can vary greatly here, making it easier to inflate appraisals.

Auctions for a dozen homes conducted one day in late June across the Atlanta area — from gritty inner-city neighborhoods to the affluent suburb of Marietta — provide a window into how the real estate slump is playing out here.

The most prized property on offer that day was a stately four-bedroom brick home in Marietta that sits on a tree-covered lot measuring three-quarters of an acre. It fetched a high bid of $646,000, about $60,000 more than the last mortgage on the property. More than 200 people turned up at the auction, and the winning bidders were a young couple, Cameron and Jamie Clayton, who are expecting a second child this year.

“I wouldn’t say it is a steal,” said Mr. Clayton, who is an executive at The Weather Channel. “We paid the same price we would have paid on the market, maybe more.”

But about 25 miles south, an auction for the three-bedroom home near Turner Field produced a starkly different result. Corey Neureuther, a 29-year-old accountant, was the winning bidder. He said it was his first real estate investment and he was surprised that others did not bid the price up at the auction, which drew about 30 people. Having recently moved to Atlanta from New York, he said he became interested in buying property after learning about foreclosures in the area.

“I thought for sure it would sell for $200,000 plus,” he said. Mr. Neureuther said he thought that he could make money by renting out the house.

Stephanie Calhoun, the former owner of the home, could not be reached for comment. Property records show she took out two loans to finance 100 percent of the purchase price. She borrowed the money from Ownit Mortgage Solutions, a California company that sought bankruptcy protection in December after many of its customers defaulted on their loans. Investors who bought bonds backed by Ownit loans will bear the loss on her home.

Dean Williams, the president of Williams & Williams, the firm that conducted the auctions, said results of the sales in Atlanta and elsewhere in the country showed that real estate prices were inflated during the recent boom, especially in less affluent areas.

“When you find out what the market price really is, it can be a joke,” said Mr. Williams, whose family-owned firm is based in Tulsa, Okla.

Economists say auctions are generally the most efficient way to determine prices. But only about 1 percent of residential real estate sold in the country last year by dollar value was auctioned.

Most sellers still list homes and wait until they get an offer close to their asking price. At the end of March, 2.8 percent of all owner-occupied homes nationally were vacant and for sale, up from 1.8 percent at the start of 2005. That is the highest vacancy rate in the 51 years the Census Bureau has been tracking it.

But as more homes end up in the hands of banks and trustees for mortgage bonds — who are typically looking to minimize losses — auctions may play a bigger role.

Mark Rollins bought a house southwest of downtown Atlanta for $78,000 at one of the Williams & Williams auctions. The property sold for $255,000 in summer 2004. Mr. Rollins, who is a Realtor, said he planned to live in the house for a couple of years, fix it up and resell it for $150,000 when the market recovered.

Why did the house sell for so much more in 2004? Mr. Rollins has a simple theory: “The market was hot, the interest rates were low, and they were giving all kinds of deals to people.”

@Jaysiatic

Unlike a lot of people who google info before pretending to know it all along I try my best to speak from a firsthand basis.

I'm VERY familiar with PG. Clinton is a nice area as is much of PG but for me the problem is how close danger lurks. I also know how deceptive nice looking neighborhoods can be. I'm from NY but I put it in all across the country. In PG my stomping grounds was Palmer Park. Muncy street to be exact. Compton has nice looking areas too. I laugh at people who think because I've taught myself how to read and write properly on the computer that I'm a square. LOL!

Back to PG. I'm not scared to live there. I choose not to invest there. As more people get pushed out of DC into PG the increase in your home may disappear. I could be wrong but that's only my feeling and I'm entitled to that.

I'll give you credit.....that article was a lil bit better displaying both sides of the spectrum, but it only further illustrates my point about how THEY throw those lil facts out there to scare people into buying houses in "less crime occuring" communities. That part about the house in Marietta selling for more than what it sold for before that, plus in the "outside of Turner Field" AKA the city, them houses sold for far less..... Yeah, that's basically what I said ^^^^^^. By the way, housing off of bank forclosures and auctions generally do sell less than when the house 1st hit the market because the banks/state is just trying to make any $$$, if poss., at that point. They'd rather have somebody living in it giving them $$$ vs. nobody living there and them having to upkeep the property and pay quarterly inspection fees.

Question: Why would black man make himself a slave to "white devils" if he is God? That seems out of order

That question was stupid, we did'nt "make" ourselves slaves, THEY made us slaves, they did'nt say "Black Man, come help me build AmreiKKKa", NO! they said "Nigga get yo' ass in that boat, we're gonna build AmeriKKKA off the blood, sweat & tears of Ur Black ass".

the key words is "So Called" You can't put a price on complete comprehension either.

Much respect to all those who keep talking that real shit objectively. I feel compelled to throw in my 2 cents and contribute.

50 cent's video I think is a good look, he's not promoting violence in the video and its not overtly demeaning to women. Its simple, visually appealing, and simply a hot track. Check his interview on XXL, he makes music for the masses and uses no cop outs for why shit doesn't sell. He plays music he made for himself for himself, and does not release it. He is an ENTERTAINER, not a role model, and as is his job he has to entertain or he is no longer relevant.

Remy Ma is just foolish. Every action has a consequence. She ethered herself.

As for black execs being "house niggers" and selling out the black community, thats bullshit, Hate in disguise. While I'm sure there are black people in positions of power that do not in fact give a shit about the black community, I'm sure most in fact care, but realize the futility of the situation. Its difficult to help people when all they do is spit venom at you and each other. The crab mentality is devastating.

As for the real estate game in ATL I'm not as well versed as I could be but I've been doing heavy research into purchasing Income properties in Austin, Tx. Anybody been there or add to that?

@ Nimrod:

1st, Palmer Park is like right next to DC (just outside Landover if I'm not mistaken). That's the hood, patna. Refer to my posting above about "so Called" Crime Rates/ living in the ghetto.

2nd, Clinton is nice, yeah, I been here for like 12 years (still 23). Yeah, some shit pops off (shooting at AMF Bowling), but compare that to DC or NYC (cops is majority of that). We mild as shit. You gotta look at it like violence is everywhere, but what's the less of the evils.

3rd, in response to people being pushed outta DC living here, I strongly disagree. Older people that lived in the slums in DC or neighboring ghettos move up in the world and get blessed enough to buy a house in a suburb (me and my moms case). But other people are older and can't afford no other living outside DC where "Concerned Parent" would buy a house for twice what it's worth instead of just rasing ya kids right, investing in that tool (no pun) if you gotta, throwing alarms on ya shit, making good with ya neighbors so y'all watch each other backs, etc. Then there are cases where kids in the suburbs get 18 and wish to move out for whatever reason, and the cheapest and most metro accessible housing/apartments is in DC, so they move there. I think it's kinda like a cycle of living rather than being herded around like THEY did the Native Americans.

4th, I don't treat anyone on here like a herb, square, whatever you call it where u from because i don't know y'all face to face. All I do is state facts and opinions (mostly facts) and try to respect even those lacking in knowledge, except for the Stans and that bullshit Stan-ly reunion that post from time to time. So dont take it like I'm talking down, homie.

Anybody been there or add to that?

Seriously though...I got a question, and it plays off logic.

If everything is a big play against the black race by the white race, where would that put me and my family? Wouldn't the white race hate me more for tryin to "inter-mingle" with the black race, and shouldn't I face as much if not more opposition than the black man. I mean, if the whole thing is geared towards keeping the black man down, wouldn't I be considered a traitor, as even less than the black man.

What ya'll think? From that perspective, it makes senese to me. I know I would hate a traitor worse than my enemy...right?

They isn't meant to mean "white folks".... I DO know how to say Whites, white folks, etc. "THEY" in this sense was s'posed to mean those no good real estate brokers, agents, and the like who take the statistics given by the government obtained through legal surveys and population counts, and THEY flip it to manipulate people for the better of the real estate business. A lot similar to the way "THEY" use corny ringtone songs, songs with bullshit content, and dance crazes to manipulate consumers into thinking what is real/fake hip-hop. The reason behind THEY is because Tool said somewhere up there that he is in real estate. But on that note, a lot of real estate brokers in my area are White, just FYI. And no I didn't get the songs...... razhai@aol.com

@ Concerned Parent:

Refer to @ PZ. I aint saying don't listen to the gov. I'm saying a lot of people put out b.s. to manipulate consumers like yourself (seemingly) by posing as someone having ties to the government with a title and name of an organization that sound legit as hell, but might not be nothing more than someone in conjunction with a real estate company, not saying they don't work for who they work for, but saying they getting paid to twist the info up to get you twisted up. If a nigga who been there and done that aint better info than some article..... no comment.

Not even getting on those who may have racist intentions. Same for Black politicians (i.e. Black Republicans), but they like a small percentage compared to Whites. We see what is happening in our communities, on the airwaves, and across the world and we have something to say about it. Although mainstream media paints us as a culture that is dormant and detached you all continue to refute those claims.

BTW...50 runs New York that's why we expect him to do greater numbers than TI. He is the biggest name in rap we expect him to do big numbers. Can's allow a skinny dude from the south to out do him!!!

Right is right and wrong is wrong to me, Black or White.

That's right, and it's that simple!

But naw...me and Brooklyn B go back and forth cuz he's one of them conspiracy theorist who believes creation exists around "keep the black man down" and I don't stand for that nonsense. Then he got beef with Christianity when he don't even know what it's about..and I don't stand for the silly talk on that either.

Like I said, I caught onto that "THEY" reference you made and that's what I was talkin about. It's all good...so long as you agree that right is right, and wrong is wrong...we can definetly build together. I agree with everything you said too..and I'll add that I believe it is because of the corruption of man kind from the beginning.

Let's just get a few things out on the table.

1. Black Americans are the only race on God's green earth who "freely" vote for one political party.

2. Be it financially or physically, if a Black sees another Black getting his ass whooped, he'll just see a Black getting his ass whooped.

Welfare has absolutely DESTROYED the Black family. Why do Black women need men to raise their kids when the GUBMENT is giving out "free" money? So, until the day welfare is eliminated, Blacks will always be dependant on the GUBMENT. Until that day, Blacks will ALWAYS envy those who are more affluent.

Before desegregation, Black neighborhoods were vibrant with great schools and businesses. Now what do we have? Failing schools and "legitimate" businesses that fold within 2 to 3 years of opening.

And with all the problems going on with Black folks, if I hear another Black artist talk about global warming, I'm gonna snap!!!!!

@ Goodiva:

If you noticed, we haven't had a stan invasion today. The convo is generally good when the stans get let out of SOHH on vacation.

Seriously, I love nothing more than to see an older interracial couple, and when I say older...I'm talking 60s and 70s. Now THAT is a real love right there, because everything about how they was brought up was against that...yet that love was stronger than any hate they experienced or where taught. Them is the ones I would want to sit around and listen to them tell stories.

My aunt and uncle are in their 70s. Of course my uncle is black and my aunt is white. They are each other's second marraige, but they have been married for over 30 years now. They are cool with the exes two as they have children wit them.

But naw...me and Brooklyn B go back and forth cuz he's one of them conspiracy theorist who believes creation exists around "keep the black man down" and I don't stand for that nonsense. 1ST off
i know about christianity unlike you PZ i dont speak on opinion

and the reason why we get at it is because you like talking about things you dont know (ie the plights of a blackman).

you saying theres no racism, theres no conspiracy when it comes to black people (ie bush signed the bill for blacks to vote for another 25 years, when does white people voting rights exp.)

you wanna talk about or figure out shit that happens with black people and it comes off stupid.

BROOKLYN STAND UP!!!

Dam, it really is so true, and you fags dont even shy away from it. All you do is hate on 50. It doesnt matter what it is, whether he is in the news, a new song, a video, all you do is fucking hate. Get a fucking life. I Get Money is the hottest song out in NY, number 1 on the countdowns, Angie, Flex, DJ Envy's top 20, the vid is all over the net. And its a fucking internet video, not an MTV, BET video, Interscope didnt even no 50 made this video, so he either used part of his budget to do it, or used his own money, ether way, you aint gonna spend mad money for an internet video. And the vid is hot as usual. But you fags only go after him, how many videos come out, yet I never see shit about anyone else's videos or anything. In another blog, someone said some dumb shit about 50 having more money to market his album than TI, but nobody said shit about when Jay spent 20 mill on marketing, but you bring up what 50 will spend. Your a fucking clown, and I come by this site to see shit every now and then, but these blogs really are gay, you are 16 year old white kids from the burbs woo think they know something about rap, shit I would hope you are 16, shit probably like 30 and shit. Get off 50's dick, face it, I think with Ams. Park and STTB, which werent bad songs, but they werent bangers, people thought he was done, so they started the hate, but now its like oh shit, he came crazy on this joint, which is the summer banger, which Flex, Angie, Mister Cee, Enuff, Envy, Slay, Whoo Kid and all the Hot 97 DJS keep saying is so crazy, its number 1 on all the countdown shows, Flex said the clubs are going crazy for it, that makes you mad, of course in another blog one fag made a joke about it not being the summer anthem, cause they cant give him any credit. But face it, 50 RUN NY, Runs the rap shit, when his album comes out and smashes this shit, what will you say then you fags.

I take it you live in a poor Black community???????

However, even Danny Glover in a business suit can't get a cab. My mom's boyfriend a CEO of a major staffing firm still gets pulled over for driving a BMW, so race is still in effect.

I can break down the "THEY" conspiracies more later on if that is still a topic of debate.

No doubt brother, I'm definetly gonna be supporting.

Regarding the post above, I agree. Racism does still exist, and we gotta let it die. I've also been pulled over in my BMW by an old nerdy black cop, harrassed and ticketed for a license plate tail light...but really...it was because my black queen is prettier than his and it tore him up..cuz I'm a white man.

And regarding Danny Glover...that's a perfect example of how money talks. That brothers has got two movies he's about to be working on, completely financed by the Venezulean government. Money talks...regardless of principle.

But please believe me, I never deny that racism still exists..I just do not believe it is the driving force behind existence, like it was just 50 or 60 years ago. Not that we are where we need to be yet, but we are definetly far from where we were. Because ANY MAN OR WOMAN regardless of race or sex can get to where they wanna go. There are still obstacles to overcome, but now they are just hurdles. Soon they will be speed bumps, and then they will be gone all together. But not so long as we keep teaching our youth that racism is what makes the world go round.

BROOKLYN...SIT BACK DOWN!!

Posted by: Conte at July 16, 2007 4:20 PM

You must be talking bout a Jay album a minute ago cuz he didn't spend 20 mill on Kingdom Come. I doubt he spent 10 on it. The statement is true though, 50 is gonna spend more than TIP on marketing (who the hell cares by the way, get $$$$), but 50 also got a better label and more of his own $$$$ to work with, if nec. I say the day 50 dies in this rap shit is the day 50 dies, but until that day comes, I refuse to speculate (i.e. RECKLESS) and "That's all I got 2 say about that!!!!)

(ie bush signed the bill for blacks to vote for another 25 years, when does white people voting rights exp.)

@Brooklyn B

Ok...so you know why Jesus hung himself on the cross. So then answer the original question asked to you...that you so gracefully tap danced around and answered by asking that question.

Are you saying that there is a comparison in beliefs? If so...speak on it.

completely agreed

I used 2 get upset ceeing a sister holding hands with a white boy, thinking, "she woulda been better off with me" but it is what it is, un4tunately, not everyone is acceptive of that.

...and you think that shyt is cool!?
That shyt is not cool homie, that's not cool, sisters should always stick with the brothers, not with the white boys, that shyt is not cool.

This is what I mean. All we talk about is how other Blacks get money. As per the creation of this web site and sites like this one, we've turned into fortune tellers. We can gaze into our magical crystal balls and know absolutely how much artists spend on promotion, how many unit they're gonna push, ect....ect. The point is that at the end of the day, while the world is spinning, we've basically discussed nothing.

And why am I here then? Hell, I love HIP HOP. I love music. Hopefully, before my time is up, I'll see at least one day where Black folks have broken the bonds of GUBMENT dependacy. That's all I'm asking for. Even if it's on a HIP HOP gossip web site.

@everybody:

You fuck all this lame ignorant talk blaming white people for all the problems in the world. Because there's only one color that matters and that's green. Get money and you can buy your way out of almost any situation. Don't nobody owe you shit so you got take what you want in this life. Stop complaining and get your hustle on and stop begging for a handout!!!!

lololo reckless only hates on 50 to get hits on his blogs simple. yall fall for it everytime.

WE DONT HAVE TO STAND UP WE ALREADY STANDING........SOUFF

Big Sun I agree with most of the things U said. If not all. I just wish U could've said them when Kid n Play was "cooning" as U put it. Or when the LOX were "gettin jiggy wit it" or even when puff had niggas doin the "harlem shake". The reason I say this is because people weren't sooo digusted with all the dancin until NY cats wasn't the ones makin up the dances. I remember A time when there was concious rap, gangsta rap, and party rap and it all played on the radio at the same time.(And by the way hip hop was first started 2 rock parties"yeah makin people dance" AND " 2 let the world know what was goin on in the hood." Like I said, I agree with U but don't be so outraged now by the "snap dance" movement when it was all good when NY rappers were basically "cooning" as U put it back in the day. If it was all good then what's the problem now? The region maybe?
