Say Word: Prodigy Receives 4 Mics in "The Source" for KOCH LP, Discusses Summer Release for "H.N.I.C 2"

mobb_deep.jpg

I've tried to ignore it. But it's on Crackspace. It's in The Source. It's in the streets, it's everywhere.

Prodigy told Crackspace:

"Return of the Mac... that's getting niggas ready for H.N.I.C 2... 'Cause KOCH is gonna go hard. They know if I have an H.N.I.C album, that shit is like, incredible... to have that shit over here at KOCH. So, they did real good with Jim Jones and all that shit but H.N.I.C is gonna be like, that's another level. That'll be out like the beginning of the summer."

But will Prodigy return to square one?

"We don't do nothin' old, we don't never go back, we don't never take it back, we don't never do nothin old, old Mobb sound, none of that shit. It's all new music. We taking it to the future. Know what I'm sayin'? We don't never look back. A lot of people like 'yo yall need to go back, and do...' That's why you do what you do, and that's why I do what I do, know what I'm sayin'?"

Backing Prodigy's claims, part of The Source review states: "Now, when some fans have lost hope, Prodigy releases his most focused of material since H.N.I.C with Return of the Mac ." However, contrary to Prodigy's claims in the above passage, the author goes on to say: "The 11-track album is entirely produced by The Alchemist, who recaptures the dark, harrowing emptiness of Mobb Deep's earlier material."

So is it or isn't it? Whichever one it might be, it sounds like H.N.I.C might be worth checking out. It's about time.

*Check back later for "Myspot Thursdays," the new weekly buzz on happenings in New York City.

dont giv a d about 4 mics, haven't been following the source for a minute, but if its hard, then i'll cop it. its fairly interesting that hav isn't about, but having said that, he barely did anything on the H.N.I.C album, so lets c. he n alchemist work well toether anyway. i agree with not going back, i think u gotta accept u dropped some good shit, and move on, i feel thats what fucked up wu-tang, them niggas is always talkin about, takin it back, sequel to 36 chambers. cuban linx 2. fuck dat

Yo Reckless didn't you realize yet that nobody is checking for Mobb Deep anymore, c'mon man check the facts, fuck Mobb Deep, i never liked those midgets anyway; matter of fact i don't believe there are people out there who still trust in the source's mics.

PS: Your blog sucks today.

good morning everyone, if artists go toe "Koch Records" because the major recrd companies will no longer continue investing in their albums, then maybe all of g-unit artists should go over there....they all gonna flop anyway...maybe except Buck...Kurupt & Gail Gotti are coming out in june, I've been trying to figure out why....!!!..they'll flop too!!!!

This is a big deal.
The New source five mic team is just as credible as the one from 97-98

No Benzino means real reveiws.

I got to admit everything I've heard from "Return of the MAC" has been shokingly good.

p is nice but he shoudn't have dissed the savior jesus man that wasn't cool...... I aint perfect but dude needs a bit of jesus in him....pray for the dude y'all

Shout to my usuals and anyone with common sense in this bitch.

Whaddup Reck? 4 Mics for Ballerina P? Say what?

No disrespect, but keep in mind this IS The Source we're talking about.

At one point them cats were giving anyone who rapped (that wasn't apart of G Unit) 4 mics. Haven't read them in a min, so I don't know if Zino's & Mays departure made them any less biased.

Either way...Imma get my bittorrent on later, and if that shit's wack...to the recycle bin it goes.

Yall be easy.

THE FOLLOWING HAS BEEN TAKEN FROM THE SOHH.COM WEEKLY ARTICLE ON RAP ALBUM SALES:

"Making a silent debut on the charts this week at No. 196 is Sean Price. His sophomore effort, Jesus Price Supastar, reels in 4,600 copies in its first go-around."

LMAOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

First I would like to say, "thanks" to sohh.com for all the blogs & articles for Sean Price, in the past couple of weeks. With all the promotion, I mean dick riding, Sean Price was able "reel in 4600 copies". This means this album is a success!!! Why? Well 4600 copies means that 4595 ppl + the 5 ppl on Sohh brought the album. I thought only 5 people was going to buy it. This just proves that there are 4595 idiots out there with the same taste in wack music.

BORINGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG!!!!!

The return of the mac is absolute crack music. Prodigy was absolutely on point with this album it just works really well. I was shocked it was that good cause id lost faith in prodigy, but he came real good.

TODAY'S BLOG IS BORINGGGGGGG!!!!!
THIS BLOG GOT A NIGGA SNORING!!!!!

ohhhh shit that rhymes, I actually said something that rhymes!!!

@WOW
See you are on sum ignorant shit. Sean P album flops cuz niggas like you only buy G-Unit, Dips, and the the other shit you hear on the radio. Nas was right hip hop is dead. Underground hip hop is alive. If that is what you base all artistic value on is sales you DO NOT understand the culture. Instead of hating why don't you pick that album up. Shit is fire. Hard body shit with amazing word play. I commend Sean P for stickin to his formula. He made an album for real hip hop lovers. So when the next Brit Spears album drops, Justin Timberlake, or Lil Wayne cop that shit. Then you can say see I love this and so does everyone else check the numbers. Nigga let me guess you are a Colts fan too.

WU TANG and BCC forever. NO MORE RADIO HIP HOP TURN THAT SHIT OFF!

Damn homie, it was just a verse, get over it.

brap brap brap brap!!! this the mobb deep maaannnnnn!! this is fire, and who the fuck goin agaisnt the unit? dey the biggest label out suckas, ya'll haters jus pissed coz your artists dont do it like we do, GGGG G-UNIT!!! 50 is a fuckin beast, he gunna prove alot wrong wiv his new album and you all know it

all u hard mobb deep fans that was upset with the g unit merge. niggas is reppin "themselves" in a very major way. it makes cents.... i fuck with 50's work seriously but i grew up to Mobb Deep and wasnt too fond of the sudden signing at first, but like i said my niggas is reppin "themselves" in a major way. and it makes cents...

ayooo... what the fuck...i heard like 19 exclusive mobb deep songs in the past 3 months.. they been puttin in work and them tracks is straight FIRE..post that prodigy american way shit where he go at the illuminati.. prodigy smoke like 11 blunts a day if he would get his head straight he would be putting out crazy shit like back in the way...whoeva hate on mobb deep hate on hip hop word uppppp

What's up Cicero
Yeah my dude. Prodigy is doin his thing again.

and this dude WOW!!! is a clown.
Let's see how many records you can sell dude.

Posted by: Eddy G. at February 8, 2007 9:11 AM

Who's buying the Dips?

Otherwise you're on point.

I've been down with the mobb, since Infamous Mobb(shook ONes), but dammmm after murda muzic shit hasnt been the same for me. Prodigy will/was/always will be in the top 5 on my list becuase I grew up on that 94-95 era, but for the last 4 years he fell like the twin towers man. I think they need to move back to queensbridge projects for like 90 days, and get that hunger back. I remember I used to be desperate to hear some new mobb deep shit. Man I think I had every mixtape, album, feature just for prodigy voice. Havoc I never took as a lyrcist, but on shook ones I will have to say Havoc verse was better. I will alwyas admit that.

Nigga let me guess you are a Colts fan too.

I was thinkin' the same thing B.

I love the Prodogy album, it is amazing, quite against the grain.
Source reviews hold no validity, but that doesn't take anything away from P.

With Sean Price, come on man. The album is really good, just 5000? The promo was good, in all magazines, blogs, here in the city there was a lot of posters too.
Very sad actually, simply because it is a good album.

Fans are weitd these days. Since when do sales number have anything to do with the music?

Hey Dr. Dre Guevara.

Do you see Jesus down here doin shit?

When the last time God paid your light bill?
I don't think you even understand what Prodigy is really sayng on that track.

WAAAAHHHH!!!! SEAN PRICE AIN'T GONNA SELL, WAAAAHHHH!!!!

...and if you don't understand what I'm talking about, slap yourself.

I think Prodigy's album will out sell Sean Price (Mr. P Body) by like 20 . . .maybe 30 copies plus I know the 9 Prodigy fans will by this bullshit.

LMAOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

For the record - I'm going to slap all 5 of the dickheads that was hyping up Sean Price's album. That shit was wack. I bought it on the strength of sohh blos and all you dickhead comments. Don't get me wrong I used to bang that their shit back in 96 (operation lockdown), but these niggas fell off. I did what yall said & opened my mind to something different. Yall niggas is worse than the Source with yall bullshit ass reviews. Go kill yourselves . . . slowly!!!!

Now all I have to look forward to is that Redman & that John Brown "King of the Suburbs"

Whoa, whoa, whoa homeboy. You drivin the wrong way down a one way with that. Jesus is up in this room right now, by way of the holy spirit by way of ya boy PZ. Whereever I am...He is.

Just because your simple mind can't lay eyes on Him, don't think He ain't real. You can't see the breeze lil homey, do you believe it? How bout gravity, do you believe it exist? You do...and why is that..because you can feel them both. See...you can't feel Jesus cuz you ain't checkin for em.

Stick to hip hop talk, that's what you good at. Things not of this world, you have no input..your opinions are mush and have no impact on the truth. Yeah, I'm firm with this...too many have rolled over and are walking dead men and don't even realize.

I suggest you check the link on my page and peep that video.

Keep my Lord and Saviors name out your mouth otherwise.

CHRIST IS ALIVE!

WORD?
That's your opinion duke, I ain't mad @ U, but the line about "The Mess U Made" is funny though.

good albums dont matter no more - at least to the media and the people who support the media.

now a days, its all about who likes u whether you makin records or not.

u can have a nigga who no one cares for make a good album, but because he aint the most popular dude- nobody coppin.

now its more than music. u got to campaign harder than the president now. forget the mags and internet, u got to do a 50 state one million city tour before u drop an album now.

new artists are like talking to strangers. too many people dont fuck with strangers.

so wut sean price gotta do now, is just use that album as - im new to the neighborhood. if the albums good, it'll get checked for when people realize he's here and plans on stayin.

but note to everybody - if ure a stranger - people aint talkin to u. ( only white people fucks with strangers - thats y they get kidnapped ) - but companies need to stop marketing in mags and sites like these - and campaign in neighborhoods.

especially since its cleary tension between coasts right now. smarten up and hire me, i'll boost sean prices sales down here

My bad..now the link is posted. Hear it from some people who were nonbelievers just like you...died, experienced hell before coming back to life.

These are people that ain't know a thing about the truth...one of them is a former KGB operative.

Check on it yourself, keep ya heart open. Jesus can pay your light bill homey, hip hop won't. Stop stannin the culture and check up on what's really real in life. Cuz when you step away from that computer, or turn off that radio, them artists that you spend your life studying, praising and admiring...do not give TWO TERDS about you.

Seek life, not death. Don't land on your back to where you ain't got no choice but to look up. God ain't a gangsta, He wants you to want it kid.

Christ Bless!
PZ

Eddy G is on point today.

Since i'm a down south nigga, please tell me what real hip hop is... last time i checked all of those guys you mentioned are rappers, rap is 10% of hip hop. hip hop aint dead it's just in a coma, 10% of the hip hop body is still living and, that is the rap part of hip hop... when was the last time you seen those rappers you mentioned promoting break dancers, graffiti artist, spoken word, DJing, ect... if hip hop is dead it died back in the 90's, how many of these rappers from the 90's were promoting hip hop opposed to rap? just you dont like how these down south rappers rap that's your prefance, but i dont see none of these southern rappers telling people to spin on their heads, or spray paint a train, just like i dont see many main stream East Coast rappers doing it either.

"When I was 12, i went 2 hell 4 snuffin' Jesus"

Sean P's album is nice yo. I don't care how many units a mafucka sold. Sean P. better than 95% of these rappers that most of yall dick ride. I'm tryin to remeber back.......since when did it matter about how many units got sold. What I'm sayin is that all yall always talkin about "So and So moved this many units" and "So and So sold a million copies in a week". When did niggas start start gettin concerned with that. When I was growin up(I'm 28) I don't remember mafuckas ever talkin about that shit. Shit was either dope or it wasn't. I see through all this bullshit yo...........pull the wool from your eyes yall.

Whassup SOHH Fam!

I'll wait till I hear something from Prodigy before I speak on Dunny!

Yo PZ who are you kidding.
