there are 2 kind of rappers. one raps about fantasy, (biggie going to columbia shooting columbian mob for there drugs, etc. or Kool G Rap rapping about being a hitman) no diss to Big or Kool G because shit was on fire and one of the best story tellers ever) the other raps about real life like tupac. (tupac getting shot, shooting at cops, real beef, etc) one of the best. listen to tru-life. he raps about real shit like tupac. jim raps about fantasy like Big. difference is jim is no where nice as big and can't tell stories like Kool G. most rappers rap about fantasy (i'll shoot you, etc). tru and pac rapped about what they went thru on some real shit. real recognize real!

a few things:

1)tru life is connected with some "heavy" tri-state area street people? how the fuck do you know that? oh, that's right, you don't. you don't know shit about who's "heavy in the streets" and you're not connected with anybody and you don't know anything about anything. whatever you heard was probably hearsay on some shitty internet message board or a horrible blog like this. sticking with the topic of tru life, i def. think he's "heard of" outside of NYC. he's blown up pretty huge and was helped with that green lantern mixtape awhile back. ever since then he's been in heavy rotation in the mixtape circuit.

regarding his beef with the fuckin set, all his rhymes are corny and stupid as hell. i listened to his little mixtape the other day and wasn't impressed with his lyrics or skits. sorry.

2)that being said, it's not like dipset puts out any diss records like ether, but the beats they spit to are almost always fire and their rhymes occassionally borderline great (really talking about writer here), but writer and rell are pretty consistent. writer, of course, being one of the top east coast rappers out right now and probably one of the hottest as well. if you disagree, just ask yourself, how many copies is j-love and tru life gonna sell of tru york and how many copies is writer gonna sell of writer's block part 4? have you heard get em? good, so you know that that beat is undeniably insane and writer spits perfectly over it. if you call yourself a hip-hop fan, chances are you've heard the writer's block series mixtapes...ask yourself...do you really think 4 won't be fire? they've been getting better each time. i hate to pit sales against sales as an indicator of how good a rapper is, but in the case of mixtapes, i'd say this is pretty good.

as far as the dips beef with jay and the roc in general, i think it's stupid and half the time writer puts out diss records that get ignored (but i got em's beat is insane and has a couple good lines), so this should all just stop bc really it's just pointless. it's the dips trying to get more sales by putting out diss records that nobody talks about. i mean cam'ron must've put out like 4 and i only heard people talking about 2.

3)i like reading some people's messages bc it's obvious how they're so loyal to wahtever label or artist that they don't even give the other one credit or act like the label/artist they side with is the next biggie or some shit. roc fans, i think there are some good artists on that label (jay obviously, beanie, freeway), but tru life is not one of them. talentless garbage. don't side with tru life bc you're so hard on jay-z's dick. i remember when the 50 and game beef was big and people were choosing sides like they couldn't still like both. it was funny watching people who loved 50 sooo much that they couldn't see the fire that game was putting out around that time (some of the best tapes of the year, easily).

4)it's also funny reading how people are all like "we gotta stop this beef before somebody gets hurt." are you serious? yes, we all know about the infamous beef that resulted in two of the greatest rappers ever to spit dying, but this isn't like that. this is a couple of studio gangstas trying to sell as many copies as possible. i don't think we're gonna see jimmy's body found in the hudson or tru life's on the sidewalk next to a shady harlem corner.
