What I don't get is why does everyone on G-Unit have to inherity 50s insane beefs. Can't he just allow the artists to do their own thing? I think Jay-Z and Nas and many lyricists before them made beef look good because they created some classic ryhmes because of real and sometimes even playful beefs. Jay and Nas had to come to their senses because they were fighting publicly over a hoe and beefing took a turn for the worst with several rappers ending up in shootouts and Pac and Biggie dead. 50 needs to get it through his thick skull that beef ain't cute unless it's real and creates some serious ryhmes. I ain't gonna sit here and defend SOHH Reckless, cause nigga be on bullshit most the time, but he has a point here. First off, he never hated on G-Unit. Mobb Deep sold their soul to the devil basically, calling 50 "God" and all this shit. Saying they gonna sell a million in one week, go multi-plat in 2 weeks. The niggas were spittin out shit that they couldn't back up. So what did they do? Sold less records to this day than Jay-Z sold with 'Kingdom Come' in ONE DAY. The nigga outsold their shit which has been out for almost 6 months-IN ONE DAY! That's for starters.

The reason Mobb Deep flopped, is the same reason Lloyd Banks flopped, Tony Yayo flopped, and the rest of G-Unit will probably flop (except maybe Buck). The niggas base their whole careers off of record sales. If they sell well, they think they are the shit. If they don't, then they don't say anything. To G-Unit and their fans, record sales are everything. Well, that's the sign that you ain't a true artist. That's the reason Mobb Deep, Yayo or Banks didn't say SHIT after they flopped. And the reason they 'flopped' is cause they base everything off of record sales! They make their albums to sell records, the do everything to sell records. Just make good music! G-Unit and 50 can't tho, cause they don't know what good music is. They are the reason Hip Hop WAS Dead, and Jay, Nas, Clipse, Game, and several other niggas had to revive it. You are telling me since Lupe didn't push a million units that he is whack? Nope. That he flopped? Nope. The nigga has respect and love regardless, and still got his paper. And still is pushin units. Illmatic and Reasonable Doubt took years to go plat, so shut the fuck up.

On the flip side, my nigga Nas can't flop. You see, even if he sold 80,000 in the first week, it would still be a success. The nigga doesn't base his success or failures on record sales, but instead on lyrical skill and album content. If Illmatic were released today for the first time and sold like it did back in 94, would it be considered a flop? Maybe to you and your lil' G-Unit friends, but to the rest of the world-NO. Nas is that nigga regardless and drops classic shit, regardless of album sales. I'm not saying the nigga will sell very few records with Hip Hop Is Dead, what I'm saying is it doesn't matter. Nas brings it every time. The nigga is rich regardless. All his albums have been classic (except maybe Nastradamous), and he's been in the game for years.

I can understand you thinking "Hip Hop Is Dead" is a whack song. I don't think it's that great of a song, but if you listen to his verses he kinda rips it. But still, I know your bitch ass was expecting a pop ass song as the lead single. See, the homie Nas don't play that. He doesn't give a fuck about record sales. He doesn't sell out just so he can sell more records (a la 50, 50, 50, 50, 50 did I mention 50? Banks, Yayo, Mobb Deep, did I mention 50?) High points of the 50 Cent / Whoo Kid interview:

- They said that Remy Martin is hemmed up in her contract. They claim Rem cannot do songs with G-Unit or even interviews with them for three years. 50 Cent said her project was "mishandled" by Fat Joe and SRC. They also had some interesting things to say about Fat Joe's CD like "he couldn't go to Koch because I said he was going to Koch."

- Of The Game's "One Blood (remix)", 50 Cent said, "I really appreciate those idiots [the 26 or so rappers on it] for selling ‘my’ CD. When he said my, he meant he still gets money off The Game. “It helps promote and sell a project [Game's CD] where I own 25% of the profits."

- Of the rest of the rappers on the remix, 50 Cent said, "Everybody looks and they think 'Well you can't tell me what to do.' [The Game] played them. None of them sell any records. Look at Nas: 'Hip-Hop is Dead' is the same single [sample] off his last album. That right there is feasting."

- He talked about Jay-Z's marketing plan in detail. He wasn't quite dissing (kinda was), but related the cost of the marketing plan to the actual units sold. "I'm trying to figure out are they happy or are they upset over there [at Def Jam]?" They were quite funny...

I think both of these albums are needed and will do well based on true hip-hop expectations. The 4th quarter is looking good for real, quality hip-hop albums, so following suit is a good look for them. Plus, both of these dude are hungry right now and aren't looking for commercial success.

There has been a lot of discussion to whether 50 Cent is still making money from The Game. I wanted to shine a little knowledge based my experiences in the music business. I’ve listened to the Game’s comments and I’ve listened to 50’s comments and it seems that someone is hiding the truth and trying to fool the public. Based on the music business history, it shows that a contract is still a contract. When Dre and Snoop left “Death Row Records”, Suge Knight claimed that he still got paid off of both of them. Doctor Dre even admitted this! When Dre left “Ruthless Records” Easy E also stated that he had an exclusive publishing contract with Dre and he would get a percentage of his record sales. The Game signed a contract with G-Unit Records…. you just don't switch labels without some type of pay out or agreement. YOU CAN’T! Why is that so hard for some of you to understand? 50 either got a large sum of money to terminate the contract or he is still getting points on his album(s). The deal with Dre not working with him was in the contract that states that because he was signed to both labels, they both had to work together on future albums. Since Game didn't want 50 on his album, Dre couldn't contractually work on his album even if he wanted to. So Game left... not just so 50 couldn't make money off his album sales, but 50 also owned exclusive publishing rights under G-Unit Records. 50 & Dre also owns the masters of “The Documentary”. That means that 50 & Dre control that album, not Game! Any future earnings or decisions that are made concenring “The Documentary” are all controlled by 50 Cent & Dre. By the way if 50 told Game that he couldn’t perform those records in concert, Game couldn’t! 50 would never do that because he makes money every time Game performs those song live or anywhere. I understand why alot of people would not have liked the move for Mobb Deep to go and sign with G-Unit. But Lets look at some facts and see if you guys agree.

When LOUD records folded Mobb Deep were free agents and nobody signed them. They went independent and created a huge buzz all over again. Even 50 Cent did a guest appearance on their "Free Agents" mixtape/EP back in 2003. ( I could be off on the year).

JIVE Signed them to a deal. JIVE. They put out "Amerikaz Nightmare" and went and got Lil Jon and Nate Dogg and others to guest appear and do production on the album. I personaly enjoyed the album, but needless to say it "flopped" They then got DROPPED from Jive and, once again, nobody wanted to sign them. Where was Nas and all these other people when Mobb Deep got DROPPED from Jive Records? JIVE, the home of N*Sync, the home of Britney Spears. R. Kelly. And You seen what Jive has done to the Clipse.

In comes 50 Cent who has been a Mobb Deep fan since day one. He gives them a call and wants to do a deal. Mobb Deep sign with G-Unit records in 2005 and also were given a multi-million dollar Label deal for Infamous Records to be distributed through G-Unit records. They put put out Blood Money in 2006 and I enjoyed the album. But like their previous album, it "flopped". 50 is sticking by them and even made them executives at G-Unit records. Now I am saying this because I know many of you hate the move. But why? 50 came and helped these guys because he is a fan and he wanted to help them. And give them a label deal without Interscope. Shouldnt more artists be doing this? Just my opinion. But I respect 50 and Mobb for the move. I dont repsect all this "beef" going on. But look at it from a business point of view. It was smart on both parts. So Nas can say what he wants, but he didnt offer his hand when they were down.

MARKETING - gunits distribution deal is still the same - thats y young bucks album is about to be pushed waayyy back. when they double the money back from the gunit deal ( not the 50 cent deal ), then they will negotiate for another distribution deal. thats y mop wont be coming out anytime soon, and prodigy gone has to put out a solo album ( basically for free on his part ), - beacuse they have to make their portion of that gunit distribution money back.

in other words - say gunit got 5million to distribute, 5 million to market. if everybody under gunit doesnt make at least 10 million, then they are scarred. so with banks flopping, mobb flopping, hot rod ( dont know yet ) - etc.

i hope u kind of understand how im trying to explain it to you - and that doesnt go for just 50 - thats for anyone who signs to a major.

mobb got good marketing, but they got caught up in a whole due to gunit basically trying to make money back for the last deal. and dont expect 50 to drop if gunit doesnt make that money back, because that'll mean some of 50's deal will have to cover the gunit deal ( hopefully u understand wat i mean by that )

but if buck and hot rod does good numbers, and the money doesnt run out - then exepect gunit to take it to another level on the next deal.

but thats y u sign as many artists as u can, so if ure ever in a whole - once u drop everybodys album, u should be able to make the money back.

so labels are trying to find different styles of rappers right now.

thats y when nelly came out, he sold so much because he was a new style.

Now, regarding the Mobb Deep subject, here is my opinion as an outsider, looking back into hip hop...knowing what I know and seeing what I see.

They will never be able to sell outside of their original fan base..and they have even lost plenty of them due to their signing to G-Unit.

I group them in the same category as the Beanie Siegel, Ghostface, etc. They are not pop, they do not cater to what people want...they continue doing them..and that is what keeps their sells consistent. They will not break out of that because it does not appeal to the masses, but so long as they keep it real and consistent they will continue to sell to their core audience.

Mobb Deep's problem was abandoning that reality when they signed with G-Unit.
