If there's any two New York City rappers that should be rocking this graphic across a white tee, it should be Cory Gunz and Jae Millz aka "The Statue."
Although just barely out of his teenage status, Cory Gunz has -- I will dare to say-- a flow better than his father's... and a flow better than most of these rappers in the game... point, blank, period.
The best never seem to get the ball rolling.
I remember when I spoke to Cory, and with a Green Lantern mixtape in the works, and a joint deal with Casablanca/Def Jam it had appeared that things were looking bright for the kid. He did drop the Militia gang mixtape he had been speaking of; however, his Green Lantern jumpoff never popped, and the lead single for his album, The Commencement, never dropped. Now rumors are beginning to swirl about his relationship with Def Jam, time is moving fast, and the little bit of buzz that he dared to build has already fizzled out...
Jae Millz, "better known as that nigga," was supposed to drop an album but to be honest I don't know what happened. His mixtape appearances were on point last summer. It's cold outside, and I haven't heard a peep out of the Harlem MC.

You got plenty of people in NYC who rep to the fullest that are dumb nice Joell Ortiz, Sha Stimuli, Siagon the list goes on. Corey Gunz doesn't write his own shit, I met him at Rodney Jerkins' crib and met his ghost writers. You gotta be kidding me. Jae Mills come on do he is a limited emcee and lacks the ability to create any concept so far as a story line for an album goes. Jae is a battle rapper end the talent at that point.

There 2 different albums but they each serve there individual purpose. That's like comparing apples to oranges. Jay and Nas style are very different. Nas is a real lyrical poet and Jay is full of phrases and catchy word play just the way he jay says things.

By the way don't none of you overlook Saigon when his album drops this kid really has it. There is alot of Nas influence in this kid and his ability to change his style and ride a beat is sick. He's even comical at times on some traks and it works for him. Real catchy emcee..

Like her or hate her, she's just as black as me, you, Kunta Kinte or any other ***** who came out of Africa. Now, all of the sudden these rap *****z, who already sell more records than Jesus (to 90% white people) want to use The Oprah Winfrey Show to promote that bull**** that they pass off as Hip-Hop.
Let's keep it real. 50 Cent sells a lot of records. He also writes some of the greatest hooks I've ever heard. For a few years he's been as hot as **** on the street and otherwise. But the reality is, 50 Cent sells dope. His image and everything he stands for says he's a dope dealing thug, and he wouldn't have it any other way. Plain and simple. So for him, Ludacris, Ice Cube or any other mother-****er in the business who thinks that putting Oprah on blast, and questioning her STREET CREDIBILITY, clearly shows that we as a people have lost our ****ing minds. What do you think a person that has over one billion dollars should do? Hang out with Shaquita and them and baby-sit her four kids in the projects? Or better yet, put a couple of million out on the street and double her money on the re-up? Or better yet, I got it, her and Martha Stewart can get together and rob a liquor store at gun point? The bottom line is, when you have Oprah money, you do what you want to do. Why is it that rappers have to commit crimes when they are about to release an album? Wonder why hiphop is dead? That’s why. I used to like rap. No more. Will never allow this new wave of garbage anywhere around my family. As black people, we have lost all sense of self and consciousness.
Why are Snoop, Young Buck, The Game, Lil Wayne, 50 cent, just to name a few, always involved in negative publicity. Guns in airports, beating up DJs, possessing drugs…Is this how you sell reords? This is a disgrace to the black race. And we turn around and say these niggas have “street credâ€. No race of people in the world disgrace or kill their own to sell records.
U-2, Coldplay, Rolling Stones, Most Country Music Artists, newly independent Fergie, pop star Justin Timberlake, Madonna are all multi billion dollar cash cows for the record industry. I have yet to hear that they commited crimes to sell records. Why are these black men so self destructive?
2007 will be an extremely tough year for rappers. Record sales are low, not because of the internet, but because these watered down rappers have no value for themselves and their music-so they resort to violence.
I have started a movement amongst conscious black people to not buy rap music if artists are arrested for crimes before their albums come out. The WEBSITE will soon be up and running and we will name artists, when their albums are scheduled to come out, and what crimes they commit before their album release date. AND THEN, we will spread the word in our ANTI-VIOLENCE RAP MOVEMENT all over the country and tell as many people as possible to also spread the word-DO NOT BUY THAT RECORD. There will be a domino effect once their sales nosedive even further. End violence in rap. Do not support violence in rap. Blacklist these artists and then they will learn.
