DJ Green Lantern up for Six Justo Mixtape Awards

The 10th Annual Mixtape Awards is going down Thursday, December 7 at Harlem's Apollo Theater.
DJ Green Lantern has pulled himself up quite a bit since his situation with 50 Cent and Jadakiss. After he stepped down as Eminem's DJ to avoid further conflict, no one ever thought he would come back as hard as he did until he hit the mixtape scene with a bang on Alive on Arrival (Best Mixtape of the Year nomination).
He has six nominations in total and, ironically enough, one of those he shares with DJ Kay Slay-- Kay Slay's only Justo nomination besides his Mixshow nomination. Speaking of mixshow, Whoo Kid had about four nominations, including one for his mixshow, but everyone says that his mixshow sucks. So I don't know what that's all about.
Anyways, the kid Green Lantern is killin' the competition. He's up for Best East Coast Mixtape DJ, Best Mixtape DJ, Best Mixtape Duo with Kay Slay, Best Mixtape of the Year, Best Mixtape Producer, and Best Mixtape Radio Show. Congrats; the recognition is well deserved.
And shout out to the kid Young "Sid-id-dav" (Young Sav) over at Def Jam. He's up against Atlantic Records' Sam Crespo for the Best Label Rep Award.
I've never listened to any of Green Lantern's mixtapes, but he performed at a club in my city, and it was garbage. I'm not going to judge him on that though, because I heard he was poppin before he came, and it appears he is poppin now.
Green Lanterns Mixes are ok Just can't really F with him unless he's doing a mixtape for an artist I like A on A was ok not classic.
Peace to the usuals topic doesn't really interest me even though I'll be at the awards this weekend. I'll be playing the background today.

I'll give you that 'One Mic' video. It actually had substance and it showed some emotion from Nas (who's usually bland as hell in front of the camera).
As for 'Nas Is Like' and 'If I Ruled the World'....nah. A whole bunch of performance shots does not equal a good video. Still classic songs though.

We've all been there but don't like to admit it. We've all kicked back in our cubicles and suddenly felt something brewing down below. As much as we try to convince ourselves otherwise, the WORK POOP is inevitable. For those who hate pooping at work, following is the Survival Guide for taking a dump at work.
CROP DUSTING When farting, you walk briskly around the office so the smell is not in your area and everyone else gets a whiff but doesn't know where it came from. Be careful when you do this. Do not stop until the full fart has been expelled. Walk an extra 30 feet to make sure the smell has left your pants.
FLY BY The act of scouting out a bathroom before pooping. Walk in and check for other poopers. If there are others in the bathroom, leave and come back again. Be careful not to become a FREQUENT FLYER. People may become suspicious if they catch you constantly going into the bathroom.
ESCAPEE A fart that slips out while taking a leak at the urinal or forcing a poop in a stall. This is usually accompanied by a sudden wave of embarrassment. If you release an escapee, do not acknowledge it. Pretend it did not happen. If you are standing next to the farter in the urinal, pretend you did not hear it. No one likes an escapee. It is uncomfortable for all involved. Making a joke or laughing makes both parties feel uneasy.
JAILBREAK When forcing a poop, several farts slip out at a machine gun pace. This is usually a side effect of diarrhea or a hangover. If this should happen, do not panic. Remain in the stall until everyone has left the bathroom to spare everyone the awkwardness of what just occurred.
COURTESY FLUSH The act of flushing the toilet the instant the poop hits the water. This reduces the amount of air time the poop has to stink up the bathroom. This can help you avoid being caught doing the WALK OF SHAME.
WALK OF SHAME Walking from the stall, to the sink, to the door after you have just stunk up the bathroom. This can be a very uncomfortable moment if someone walks in and busts you. As with farts, it is best to pretend that the smell does not exist. Can be avoided with the use of the COURTESY FLUSH.
OUT OF THE CLOSET POOPER A colleague who poops at work and is proud of it. You will often see an Out Of The Closet Pooper enter the bathroom with a newspaper or magazine under his or her arm. Always look around the office for the Out Of The Closet Pooper before entering the bathroom.
THE POOPING FRIENDS NETWORK (P. F. N) A group of co-workers who band together to ensure emergency pooping goes off without incident. This group can help you to monitor the whereabouts of Out Of The Closet Poopers, and identify SAFE HAVENS.
SAFE HAVENS A seldom used bathroom somewhere in the building where you can least expect visitors. Try floors that are predominantly of the opposite sex. This will reduce the odds of a pooper of your sex entering the bathroom.
TURD BURGLAR Someone who does not realize that you are in the stall and tries to force the door open. This is one of the most shocking and vulnerable moments that can occur when taking a poop at work. If this occurs, remain in the stall until the Turd Burglar leaves. This way you will avoid all uncomfortable eye contact.
CAMO-COUGH A phony cough that alerts all new entrants into the bathroom that you are in a stall. This can be used to cover-up a WATERMELON, or to alert potential Turd Burglars. Very effective when used in conjunction with an ASTAIRE.
ASTAIRE A subtle toe-tap that is used to alert potential Turd Burglars that you are occupying a stall. This will remove all doubt that the stall is occupied. If you hear an Astaire, leave the bathroom immediately so the pooper can poop in peace.
WATERMELON A poop that creates a loud splash when hitting the toilet water. This is also an embarrassing incident. If you feel a Watermelon coming on, create a diversion. See CAMO-COUGH.

I saw it...shit was aight...I thought the whole time machine thing was a little left field...but the movie wasn't anything that was hard to understand.
Don't want to spoil it for anyone but basically, Denzel goes back in time to stop the event that happens in the beginning....but yea after that time machine shit I was thinkin "wack"...matter fact, that would've been the first wack Denzel flick I've seen.
Anyway, it's worth watching.

I heard that, I been crushin OJ and taken vitamins. Vitamin C is like miracle medicine...they just don't want us to know it. Cuz then the medicine industry would be dried up if there was no colds, was no flus, etc.

If I have a dude who's going to give me a crystal clear copy of a movie, 2 for $5, I going to take it.
Movie tickets up here are $10.50 a pop, fam. That's $21 for a couple. Not to mention all the loud kids and ignorant folks who ruin the movie-going experience.
I'd rather fall back at the crib with my girl and watch it in peace, feel me? But I do shell out money for movies I really do wanna see on the huge IMAX screen. Shit like X-Men or Spider Man 3.

Yo..I'm sorry if I'm headin off subject of the blog. My two cents....I ain't never listened to a Green Latern mixtape. To me, Eminem was only good on the first album. And it's not that he got any less "tight"..it's just the whole gimmick was not interesting to me after that. Same thing with 50...the hype of his first album pumped him up, I bought it..then it went to his head and I seen through him so I quit supportin. The only G-Unit album I've heard was Young Buck...and he was hot. G-Unit didn't interest me...therefore, I didn't check up on G-Latern...so I don't have any input on the subject.
I do think that mixtapes is probably one reason all these artists ain't sellin. Why buy a full lenght from any artist when most of the times, there are only a few songs on there worth payin for. Just get a mixtape that has a grip of good artists with decent songs and you got what you was originally lookin for in the first place.

It's the first time two Christmas albums are in top 10 of The Billboard 200 since Dec. 29, 2001.
Akon's UMRG album "Konvicted" keeps the No. 8 spot warm for a second week with 110,000 and a 33% sales slide. Moving 108,000 copies (-19%), Josh Groban's "Awake" climbs back into the top tier 14-9.
