A while back I was feelin Diddy's hustle. But now, his current choice of music is commercial, corny, and pop-ish... three things I hate. His past interactions with Biggie, Lox, and Mary? That's three things that's great. However, it's clear as day that times have changed. He's no longer in it for the hip-hop, he's only all about the dollars... but being labeled as such doesn't bother him. I caught him on VH1 last weekend saying that he's aware of how people criticize his musical concentration, and that he's proud to be putting out commercial and pop music.
As far as him being artist, he's an entrepreneur... not a rapper. Some can do both. Most can't. He made an announcement about finally inking his own bars for crying out loud. And for this I say he has absolutely no business spitting rhymes. And his articulation sucks. But I have to admit, I've heard more than a few people tell me that his listening party was off the hook, and this week a couple have said that this CD is hot -- even if most of the lyrics were written by somebody else.
I don't know. I don't care. I'm just doing my job.

Guess Camel Banks bit into the bad apple this week. People just can't seem to stop talking about it. Duke is headed straight to the bottom of the charts. Four to five weeks tops. Now I hope 50 will finally learn to shut the fuck up.

Well I am and a lover and hater of Diddy. Sometimes he can work my last nerve. But besides that he is a bad mutha. I heard the CD before i bought it. After listening to it there was not doubt that I would buy. Diddy can be a sucka but he is bad boy. He has a lot of collabo's but what else would you expect from Diddy. He is what he is an he don't apologize for that. He CD is actually a good buy. It is strong in the beginning and the end - the middle is a lil weak but overall it's a pruchase worthy CD. It is better than 80% of the shit I have heard this year. I can't hate on the man.

I bought that Hi-Tek the day it came out and i have to say for all the hype it got as being "real" it's only an ok cd at most.
They got songs that i really like, like the one with Kurupt(#3 i think), #11, "tired", and the last one with nas and common(my bad, i just got the cd)
But some songs is like WTF? Busta's song was garbage, the one with his son doin the beat was pointless. one of the songs with talib kweli had a bitch singing that shouldn't ever again touch a mic.

I'm going to check it out this weekend. I can't imagine making a CD full of flops, but then I am more of a commercial rap fan than a hard core hip hop head.
I think 50 might need to start doing it for himself and forget about the whole label thing. He doesn't seem to have been prepared for that particular game as his artists have been flopping consistantly. Since he is the only successful one I say just do him because those flops are going to start draining his pockets.
