Not at the actual homecoming but some of the parties. I went to 3 parties last weekend and all of em had fights. My wife was having a racially motivated conversation with a white girl. My wife wears her hair naturally, so the white girl made a comment about black people's hair. My black friends tell me all the time that they wish they had hair like mines.I think that all black people should perm their hair". But when I hear stories like this I feel so ashamed that my black sistas aren't proud of their hair. They judge themselves on a European Scale when we are not Europeans. The feel twice as ashamed when I see African sisters perm their hair. I feel ashamed because they are from the "Mother Land". They weren't enslaved, their grandmothers weren't raped, and their culture wasn't stolen. It confuses me. I see it come up all the time and used out of context on the regular?
I see if someone say they don't like an artist or a artist music or the things a artist does. That artist fans immediately respond with, Yall are hating or yall are Haters.
Personally I find the term most used as a cop out. Meaning I don't care how much sense you make or house much of a point you have. Instead of intellectually challenging your perspective and point of view, I just gonna call you a hater and continue liking what I wanna like or doing what I wanna do even if its wrong and doesn't make sense.

So here's my definition of what it means to be a hater.
When talking about an Artist, I am noting hating by saying, I Don't like or feeling him. I feel you cross the line into hate when hate on his right to live, earn income, feed their kids and take care of their families, when you hate on their well being their ability to prosper and advance.
When even when someone does a good job you still refuse to give them the credit they deserve.
When even though someone doesn't have the greatest track record but the say of do something that makes sense you still won't ecknowledge they're point
your hating. So Are we and Reckless truely hating on Fat Joe and Banks.

But getting back to your question, you can tell hate when you see it. I don't hate Banks but this album was trash. I copped his first joint and had to defend it against the haters because I think the joint is a borderline classic album but this one was a step down.
