Ok, this needs to be said...I've been a Jay fan since day one and have ALWAYS loved his verses & albums because his lyrical wordplay and swagger were unmatched...I'm sad to say that the Jay we all grew to love is gone. It didn't just start with "Show me" and "Kingdom Come" either! To me, the last good verse Jay contributed to the game was the Go Crazy remix with Jeezy...the Ray Cash remix verse was OKAY, that Hustlin remix verse was WACK, that Beyonce ish was DOUBLE WACK, and I have no words for the new stuff...I'm very disappointed...Some rappers just think that their voice is enough to make a track hot, and Jay is one of those people...most of us would even give Jay the benefit of the doubt at this point!!! I tried to give him some slack every time he gave me a lackluster flow, but the buck stops here! The "superman" & "MJ" references are so played (throwback hip hop slang) that I can't even express in words how I feel...I actually listened to VOL. 3 (one of Jay's weaker albums) yesterday and felt like that Jay could DESTROY this Jay! What kind of ish is that? If he is in fact MJ on the Wizards, Jay fans better pack it in...Do b-ball fans remember how those 2 seasons went? Young cats gave Mike respect early off of rep alone...backed off of his moves, fell for his pump fakes, all due to fear of what he COULD do...once they discovered that he was now average at best, they pounced! lol If Jay gives these young cats an opening, he may tarnish his image forever!
