I understand what you said but I have to disagree with you to a point... NY had plenty of guys that danced. Heavy D, Kid n Play, Rob Base, Doug E Fresh, Hell even Big Daddy Kane... The first time I ever heard Laffy Taffy I was at home in Texas It made me mad as hell that someone gave these guys a deal and put this mess out, but now i feel if thats the only thing that they have to bring to the table that is Hip Hop (yes Hip Hop) then good for them. And of course its about the money but if you were broke and someone came up to you with a 100k and told you to do Laffy Taffy you would be snappin ya fingers as well.

Regardless of who "runs" rap in sales department it's becoming clearer that the genre is dying. To sit on the throne at the twilight doesn't compare to being there at the peak.

All of this South, West, East bullshit is what killed rap and Cali is the origin of all the bullshit. They are the architects of all that is wrong in hip hop today. From the excessive criminality, to simplified lyrics, to rampant profanity, you name it. The difference between a gimmick and a movement is simple. History remembers REAL movements, and will always respect the founders of that movement. History laughs at gimmicks. So the only thing that separates the two is the way history remembers them. Even my friends in the south that are so adamant that they are holding hip hop down have to admit to some degree that in 10 years, most of the crunk and snap artists will appear on a VH1 special, where different comedians will laugh at the stupid dances and lame lyrics.
