Even though Styles P is a good rapper he is similar to fat joe in being he has been in the rap game for over 10 years.An has never went platinum but talk about money,power,and respect. He still not rich and has no power within the industry but he does get a little respect. The major point is that it's hard for older mc to sell especially when they never billed up a big buying public when they were young in the rap game.

I can't even front I haven't been listening to the L.O.X since they left Bad Boy. But, I think that is where the problem lies. After they left bad boy they lost a lot of fans all across the states except in New York. Bad boy was real big at the time, but so was Ruff Ryders. Then they released another L.O.X album and then Jadakiss came back his own album that went gold. Styles P. came back and went gold, so they had the right formula. I think the L.O.X just had some real unfortunate events that cost them, basically, their careers. It is fucked up to see them go down like this, but in this case shit happens. They probably want get major album sales again, but they we always have the streets.

As far as 40 cal I don't know the nigga so I won't speak on him, but unless he comes real hard the Dipset movement is done.

Truth, if that is the case, then because you didn't produce "mills" at your job, then you should'nt command respect in your industry or expect any. Selling gold is wack now? With all the bootlegging and internet downloads, for a street dude like Styles to sell that much is incredible. Styles has put out a lot of great hood songs w/crossover appeal (i.e. last summer's song w/Acon "Can you believe it?", and "I'm Black") but because of no promotion, it did'nt go anywhere. Check your history, most rappers don't make it past their first album, much less 10yrs. Unlike Fat Joe and Mobb Deep, Styles P has'nt sold out to stay relevant.

The Lox been having contract problems since day one. From Jada saying he dont wanna make albums cuz of publishing to Styles getting pushed back for a whole fucking year, they've had problems for a minute.

Finally Styles gets his props. But I want to know , why is the first thing people bring up, when they talk about rappers or any artist now days is sales and money? Since when did that validate anyones talent or respect? This is why Hip Hop lost it's heart. People don't care about the music anymore. They care about everything else but that.

I've always liked/been a fan of Styles P, because he's always been the type of artist like a Nas or Common, but a street cat all in one. His music isn't one deminsional like most think either. He does the gangsta/street thing, but he also can give you songs like Listen, Black Magic, My Brother, My Life, I'm Black.

He can hook up with a Talib Kweli (which he did on Time Is Money) or a Mos Def, get on their level and still come nice. That just proves they don't listen anymore, or never did at all.

His interviews as of late have been very insightful. He was saying a lot of things that Hip Hop needs to hear right now. Unfortunately, everybody was too caught up in the drama and beefs, to pay attention to the music. He and his group mates have been putting out.

I see SOHHNYC mentioned the CD/DVD they dropped 2-3 weeks ago. Forget the CD that came with it. The DVD is what was hot. They explain a hell of a lot of stuff people didn't understand about their situations.
