Hip hop today can't light a candle to those albums, or maybe I'm just old. If you ask me, the South is successful now because we always listened to East Coast, West Coast and Chicago stuff cause that is all there was even though it didn't reflect our region. We incorporated it all and made our own sound that was already there. In the same breath, the South has put out a lot of cheezy shit over the years, D4L just the latest example - sorry for that.

As far as T.I., OutKast paved the way into the New York scene long ago and they got booed, they were never even trying to be harder than anybody, they just represented Atlanta, they paid their dues and T.I. respects all that so people in the South respect him.
