Lil' Kim's Fam Maino Nearly Gets "Got"

Mos Def warned them, and Brooklyn wasn't renamed "Crooklyn" for nothing. For the passed few days, both the streets and internet outlets everywhere have been buzzing about hip-hop's latest gun-brandishing dispute. This one involves "do or die" Bed-Stuy's underground MC Maino (known to some as the one who put the smack game down on Lil' Cease). Although the story was told to me in a million different ways, the basis of the story is that Maino nearly got "got" in a sneaker store somewhere in Brooklyn. The assailant reportedly pulled out a gun and ended up shooting himself twice after he scuffled with Maino on the floor. Thankfully, Maino walked away unharmed, but duke was only injured.
Damn, another day in corrupt-ass Brooklyn. Try as they might, but the government's imminent domain operation just can't take the gutter out of good ol' BK.
Speaking of Bed-Stuy, I was shocked when I walked past the bodega on Marcy and Myrtle Ave. a year ago just to see the "Brooklyn's Finest" mural of Biggie and Jay-Z removed. The doing of new bodega management or the will of the blue-eyed devils (who are trying frantically to move the blacks and Hispanics out of the Stuy)?
Oh yeah and by the way, check out DJ Keyz and Maino's latest mixtape bestseller, King of the City, which features exclusives, freestyles, and cameos by Scott Storch, Lil' Kim, and Harlem's Jae Millz.
Maino is on the come-up. Papoose's flow is fire and all, but he should probably be covering his tracks, 'cause Maino is on his trail and wants to keep the Stuy's heavyweight title for himself.

It's call GENTRIFICATION! Its going on all over the United States especially in major metropolitian areas. So white upper and middle class buy up the property and redevelope them to a price range above what the immediate local population can afford. So automatically the black in brown have to move else where in search of affordable housing.
Yeah we got the big rims, the iced out necklace and watch, and the flyest gear to wear to the club to impress.........but that don't equal to shit in the real world of money and business. We have to stop wasting our money on bullshit and invest by buying real estate/our own homes.

Nothing wrong with saying the white man is buying up the hood when the race and gender of those buying the property are WHITE MALES. This is just stating the facts. Is it wrong or right is left up to the individual opinion. I personally have purchased two old homes in my old neighborhood and I plan to fix them up and rent them out or sale them.
I am not complianing but stating what I have stated on several blogs. Black people need to invest there money and stop wasting it on over priced clothes and other items that don't appreciate in value.

Your absolutely right! That is a very large investment to make individually but if you start and investment group with similiar interest then the burnt want be as bad. If you have 4 or 5 other brothers or sisters that have the means or credit to go in with you then you can use ready cash or loans to purchase the property.
Most major sports franchise are own by investment groups who made a collective investment. This can be done to purchase an apartment building or several properties but on a smaller scale.

BIG ANT...I feel you cuz...before I moved to the East Coast I lived in the Fillmoe (Fulton/Webster)...and you see how the white folks took that over. They tore down all the public housing and moved all the poor black folks away.

Now if a black, white, green, or purple family meets the qualifications that I require to be a tenant in my property then I will lease to them but if they don't then I want. Let me answer this questions for you. The issue is a lot deeper then making our streets safer. The actual process of gentrification is where an entire community is uprooted. An investor, typically a white middle aged male, will purchase the properties and intentially build homes, condos and apartments that are way out of the price range of the people that live there. So basically people that have been living there all their lives are forced out.
Now I didn't and am not saying the White Man is wrong or right for doing this. I think black people in this situation are SELF MADE VICTIMS. The reason I say this is because we don't invest our money properly. Unfortunately we as a race of people value things that make us appear to be successful instead of investing in things that will make us successful. There is an old adage that says, "a black person would rather look good loosing instead of looking bad winning"
You got brothers riding around in Escalades, Benz, BMW, Jaguars and wearing BAPE and Jordan's living with their parents or in an apartment. We rent instead of buying our homes so what do we expect. You got black women walkin around carrying 500 dollar hand bags and wearing Prada, Fendi, and Gucci but living in an apartment with 2 kids making $8.75hr. We spend all of our money to project a certain IMAGE to impress people we don't even know!

I agree with what someone said earlier about black people putting their money together and buying their own. Now I live in GA as you can tell. I grew up differently from people up north. I lived in a house my mom owned. My grandparents owned their own business and became rich. They did not even graduate from high school. I think it is more about the way you are taught. When I was 16 I was investing my money. Now at 22 I am still am. I am working on my plan to make millions. My mom went to New York around this time last year and she did say the amount to rent and a lot of other things were ridiculous. She said it was ok to visit, but she would never want to live there.
I welcome anyone to the south. You will live better and their is more oppourtunities for black people.
