According to an article over at Gunitworld.com, 50 is in the process of trying to convince Afeni to let him produce the next Tupac album and release it as a joint venture between Amaru and G-Unit Records. He says that he's not happy with the way previous posthumous Tupac records have been handled and that he knows exactly what they've been missing: better marketing. Yeah that must be it, because an agressive marketing plan is what really makes for good music, just look at how well it worked for Mobb Deep this month. (That was sarcasm in case you didn't catch it.)
Billion Dollar Budget says:
"I feel the people running his material are not necessarily heading his work in the proper direction". 2Pac had an album come out some years ago and they only put out one single out of about an album filled with 30 songs and that single had Nas on it. To me that was the worst thing they could've done. Like why would they put Nas on a pac single and then worse make a video for it also as the lead single."
Well, I can't really argue with him there, everybody knows diehard Pac fans like to get on Nas about his newfound love for a man who had more than a few harsh words for him when he was still alive. The big question here though is, what do all of those same hardcore Pac fans think about 50 putting his hands on a whole album? I know not too many people were exactly thrilled with the role Eminem played in Loyal To The Game, and Tupac loyalists can get pretty testy when anybody dares to put their savior over a beat they're not feeling.
In related news, your boy 50 picked up a nomination for a BET Award in the Best Male Hip Hop Artist category alongside, T.I., Common, Busta and Kanye West. Not that the BET Awards matter or anything but congratulations to everybody nonetheless.
Sidenote: Why is Busta nominated for this award? I know the Big Bang is dropping any minute now, but shouldn't you have actually had an album in stores in the past year to be considered for Best Male Hip Hop Artist? Somebody tell BET that mixtape appearances and remixes are cool and all but they need to tighten up their nomination requirements if anybody is ever going to take those awards seriously.

If this fucking guy gets the rights to 2Pac's music, the rap game has been raped to the max.
This is fucking blasphemy. How the fuck can this nigga 5-0 even fix his fucking mouth to say something like this?
It's bad enough what Puff did to B.I.G. but this is ri-godamn-diculous.
2Pac Shakur released on G-Unit records. If that happens, I SWEAR, I'm through with rap.

And ya'll act like you didn't know Eminem produced the last album.

I really dont even have to say nuttin. Yall summed it up. 50 is a wack ass sellout that Pac wouldnt have given da time of day. If he makes Pacs next album, the rap game is officially over. This nigga doesnt even deserve to say Pacs name. Please Afeni, Dont let this big, steriod takin, hook-singin, bulletprook tanktop wearin fake ass faoggot of a rapper turn Pacs real shit to that commercial garbage that 14 yr old kids from da suburbs will buy. Let us real Pac fans from the same streets he is from enjoy his legacy and not tarnish his name and career!!!
That explains the huge thunderstorm today! Pac is in Heaven 'whuppin' somebody's azz.
Its raining over here too
I refuse to acknowledge that 50-2pac story, I will ignore it...
I will say the reason why a lot of his newer re-releases are not selling because his fans are TIRED OF THE SAME RE-HASHED SONGS OVER AND OVER...Biggie duets crawled to platinum but the next one (if it's not a greatest hits) will not creep past gold. There are reasons why certain songs never made it to albums-they weren't all great.
Anyone who owned the Makavelli Mixtapes (classics up until 5) KNOW the good stuff he did, it's not marketing. Pac sells by his name alone.
But we can't keep harvesting the same shit over and over, let his legacy live in the good music, same as Big.
Its not all the same songs though, Tupac "supposedly" wrote and recorded over 3,000 songs and those are just of the music people have found. Sure you can say the beats are recycled and shit but the lyrics also?
Tupac over a havoc beat - classic
Tupac over a dre beat - classic
Tupac over sha money xxl - classic
Just cuz 50 cent produces is doesnt mean he will be involved, just means he makes the money of it.
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!
Damm, Damm, Damm!!!!!
I know said that I wasn't going to hit G-Unit up for a minute but son if this shit happen I will jump off the fuckin empire state building!!!
Fuck 50 producing the next album . . . If Pac was still here, I doubt he'd approve of 50 Cent's work to date. I can't deny that 50 Cent knows how to promote HIS and the rest of G-Units work, but I doubt that would work for Tupac. Also, the thought of 50 Cent wanting to produce a Tupac album is fucked up...the fame went to 50 Cent's head, Tupac kept true to his morals, even when he blew up and became famous.
I disagree with 50 Cent producing Tupac's next album, and i hope Afeni sees that it wouldn't be the best move aswell.
No, Tupac over a Havoc, Dr. Dre, or over Sha Money XXL would not make a classic. Your obviously too young to understand - none of the above could produce a beat true to Tupac's style - like on Loyal To The Game, Tupac's voice had to be speeded up to keep with the beat.
And do you really think that 50 Cent would stay away from appearing on the album? Look at every other album that's been even remotely related to 50 Cent (Except The Documantary) - every single one has atleast 2 samples of 50 on gthe hook, and a verse - put it this way, he's like Puff Daddy - In everyones video, and always on the track saying something (I.E "G-G-G-G-G-G-Unit!!")
I thought hip-hop couldn't have gone lower - don't let 50 produce it.
50 GETTIN RIGHTS TO A TRUE LEGEND LIKE PAC? I KNOW STR8 KILLAS WHO WERE SRT8 UPSET AND 1 EVEN CRIED WHEN THAT NIGGA DIED!! IF 50 GETS RIGHTS IMMA DO A STR8 KAMAKAZIE IN G-UNIT RECORDS OFFICE BLDG!!!!
Yall niggas sound mad dum professing ur hate for 50 like he bullied yall in school or something. Most of yall don't even kno pacs material, yall just dickride wat the majority says. Yall are jokes

50 is a clown, straight up. Yea Pac didn't like Nas, but he didn't like Jay either.
Where was the outcry when Jay butchered "Me & My Girlfriend"? If he still were alive, he probably wouldn't have a lot of love for 50 either. Reasons why:
1)Dude is a snitch (proven fact). All you 50 nut rubbers get over it.
2)He runs with Mobb Deep, who Pac hated. What, 10 years & running in the game and still haven't even sniffed platinum?
3)50's whole style is wack. By that I mean dissing Rule for singing then biting so hard off his style you left teeth marks. Swagger jacking at it's finest. Let it be known Rule was biting Pac and DMX anyway, so I guess 50 i strying to bring it full circle.
4)Who really wants to hear anyone from G Unit on a Pac track? Dude's been dead going on 10 years an NO ONE from the Unit can hold a candle to his flow. Imagine if he put Yayo on a track (shudders). That shit would be nasty.
Oh, and don't mistake me as one of those cats who thinks Pac is God. He was definitely talented, but it's BEEN time to let it go. I think his last CD should've been "The Don Killuminati, The 7 Day Theory". Well maybe one or two greatest hits CD's wouldn't have been that bad. Anyway, I hope 50 doesn't get to (further) disgrace the memory of 2Pac.
Shouldnt be too bad.. But mobb deep them selves fell off, they ran outta shit to say. I have the album and i think its horrible but i supported anyways because how hard they were dickridin 50. I like 50, his music to me has da perfect balance between entertainment and lyrics. Its not all about candy shop... He just does that shit to sell, 2pac was a good artist but was a pussy, that talked alot of shit and got fucked... Unno im high right now... Im outtie... Peacee..I dont know what the hell im sayin...
give rap up then bitches all the new 2pac albums coming out sucks put some g unit shit on it spin it around and u guys wat the they will make
Yeah,Blood $$ is bad.Havoc aint bad but P SUCKS.I wanna hear Hod Rod.Aint never heard him spit be4,I dont think so.
If 50's a clown he's a rich 1.Say what u want like him or not he knows how to sell records and thats what pays the bills.
We all know the nigga Tupac was and still is a legend, but they need let that man rest
This makes me think that dude is trying to bait Nas into responding to him.
Quick question, is there any real hip hop head that would rather hear 50 over Nas?
Didn't think so. Yo, Boo-Boo...or whatever they call you now, whatever single you had in mind for a Pac track will no doubt be wacker than Thugz Mansion. You are done. You might want to tread carefully though, Nas does have Jigga in his corner now, who is one of the few industry cats with more power than you. Should they both get on a track coming at you.....wow.....you're really done. I say this because you aren't better than either on their worst day. Listen, Game already killed your whole camp singlehandedly. Stop trying to create more beef so people will give you attention again. No one (except Shakeem) really respects you anymore.
Everyone have a nice day.
Before SOHH went Y2K on a nigga, I had a comment about the people who believe we've only yet to hear about Pac's songs...he was a prolific writer but how much in that vault is actually worth listening to, meaning:
A: how many of those verses are recycled
B: how much of it was throw away shit that would taint his legacy...
Also 50 and G-Unit couldn't save the shit that Em exec produced, so why would it work now?...
I'll admit 50's a marketing genius-FOR HIMSELF--but he can't make everything great-outside the soundtrack, the other releases since Massacre and the buzz generated for his other artists are not what they were '04-'05...this isn't G unit hate, this is what I've observed.
Plus at the end of the day if Pharrell or Diddy or fuckin Mannie Fresh wanted to take Pac songs we'd be just as mad...let that dude's legacy be what it was...
And why in the fuck would we put Pac on a Havoc beat--that is absurd as that song on Biggie duets w/ Pac...
ONLY 36,000 IN THE SECOND WEEK???
107 + 36 = 143
WOW. THE NUMBERS SAYS IT'S ALL.

REAL TALK...ya'll ever drink 50's vitamin water.....ya'll gotta read the label on that shiet...among other things, he says..."HYDRATE OR DIE TRYIN"...and makes reference to "dem suckaz in the board room"..etc etc....anything for the dinero..
I think people should read one of Naj's earlier comments about this issue. Those comments really framed the issue perfectly.
Tupac's work and legacy should not handle like a brand new NIKE shoe that needs to be aggressively marketed to the America and the world at large. I am sorry to the G-Unit fans (and trust me this is not an invitation for conflict) but as a conscious Black male with a strong appreciation for Pac's work as well as recognizing his example to our people, I am not comfortable with 50 or anyone else touching his work.
Other than being shot, 50 and Pac had absolutely nothing in common. I strongly suspect Pac would have hated 50's support of George Bush; given the fact George Bush's dad headed the CIA during the time his aunt Assata Shakur was being persecuted by the U.S Government. In fact, the government, under the current leadership of George W. Bush, still seeks her capture as she resides on Cuban soil.
In my judgment, these two brothers are on the opposite end of the spectrum regarding the way Pac viewed life and 50 views life. Further, we all know that much of Pac's life and ideas were, and are, reflected and his music and poetry. Should this not be preserved as he delivered it to the people? Why potentially corrupt his work and legacy? Many others have compromised his work enough. I must this is as well; it is crime and totally unacceptable for Em who made racist comments about Black women to appear on Tupac's work.
Moving on: Tupac was a serious brother. He was very principled. As responsible Black people, we should collectively say no to 50 and the white Interscope partners hiding behind the door, when it comes to touching our brother's work. If you are trying to help his mother out; than simply write her an enormous check and call it a day.
However, better than I did here and now; I really believe Naj framed a very strong argument, which I totally endorse.
SOHH; finally you put a topic about 50 that is relevant and worth discussing, as opposed to the usual 50/Game bashing topics.
why ya niggaz trippin fo'? nigga dead any wayz, so why would it matter, why would u wanna sign a dead rapper? all that producing of pac is gay, imposterious, its like me starting my own gang and signing al capone, niggaz still wouldnt be scared couse nigga dead, lol this shit is ridiculous
Yeah Nas was on that single with tupac because...NAS IS A FUKING LYRICIST!
It was great to see two great lyricist rhyme together like that, no one complains when Biggie and Tupac had a song together. How the fuck are you going to be as ignorant as to say that just because back in the day they didnt look eye to eye they shouldn't have had Nas on the single? Did you even HEAR what Nas rhymed on that song? It think its worse when a rapper takes someones else comcept and make money of it *cough*Jay-Z*cough* Me and My Girlfriend anyone?
Idiot ass Sohh always riding 50's DICK!
Oh and deny it all you want, but the only good Cd's released of tupac since he died where on DEATHROW records because they still had that West Coast sound.
How disrespectfull was it by EM to MAKE tupac say shit like G-unit and Em or Obie??
To A*P:
The answer is VERY
LET'S PUT JA RULE BACK TO THE TOP SPOT!!(IN FACT, EVEN IF JA IS THREW WITH HIS GLORY DAYS, HE CAN STILL DO 2PAC'S STUFF BETTER THAN HOW 5-0 DOES)IT'S A FACT THAT R.U.L.E. OUTSOLD TONY GAYO'S ALBUM AND FLOP DEEP'S NEW ALBUM.
OH WELL, HOW COOL NIGGAS!
BTW well put "TUPAC IS TOO IMPORTANT"
