now..recently I have been listening to that new TI album and I will say that it's straight fire..I can listen to it from start to finish...I was a skeptic on his last album..not because I bought it and did not liek it..just because the singles he had out had to grow on me...but this album made me wish I had bought the last one...he has everything from hard core to melodic songs to even a song about a dead loved one...it showed range and that's what many albums these days lack..from any coast...

N.C. is the south but is deep rooted in East Coast Culture so most of the music we listen to does tend to lean towards the east coast lyrisists. However, we are still in the south so the respect is still given to groups like Outkast, T.I., Luda, UGK, Slim Thug, and other southern artists. We also listen to the cats out in the West Coast like Murs, Snoop, and Ras Kass. The difference is the fact that in the south we show LOVE. We listen to it all. When have you EVER heard anyone from the south talking trash about how WACK Dipset is? Or how G-Unit dont do NOTHING but hate on who's hot at the time. Who is this idiot posting multiple comments? I think we should look beyond regions because hip hop is universal. I think the main problem is the corporate world is taking control of our music. That issue is bigger than a little regional war. If you don't like the state of the game then do something to change it. How do you expect anything to change when you keep going to the labels that are determining what is hot? Most of the southern artist you see in the mainstream started from the ground up. They had to move an exceptional amount of units independently before getting any recognition. They made it so labels would come to them with distribution deals. That is why you see new southern artist who were never heard of outside of their region with records labels and major distribution (Luda, Young Jeezy, Rick Ross, T.I). There are no major labels in the south like there is in NY so they have to do it that way. I have respect for NY music but you will never bring NY back if you depend on major labels to release the albums. The only way you will bring it back is starting an independent movement.
