Lil Cease Arrested On Outstanding Warrant

This isn't turning out to be a very good month for our friend Lil Cease at all. First there were the rumors of him taking a vicious L on Nostrand Ave at the hands of Maino, then there were even some rumblings about him getting robbed later on that very same day. Now, as if that wasn't bad enough, Cease spent this past weekend as a guest of the New York City Department of Corrections after being picked up in Brooklyn on an outstanding warrant.
The warrant stems from a 2001 shooting incident that he originally faced an attempted murder charge on, but that was later reduced to a weapons offense with a sentence of 5 years probation. Of course Cease, being the international superstar/street DVD entrepreneur that he is, had a hard time squeezing a probation hearing into his busy schedule, so he just skipped it altogether. A warrant was issued for his arrest, and it finally caught up with the man once considered to be one of the top weed carriers in the game, when he was pulled over in Brooklyn with a couple of his own weed carriers.
Cease is expected to see the judge today and learn whether or not he'll be continuing his stay on Rikers, or coming home to take his chances with whatever these cruel streets may have in store for him next.

The guys who actually fired the shots a the radio station, pled out almost immediately when they found out there was video footage.
Lil Kim and one of her homegirls told the grand jury that they didn't see them in the building (not knowing that they were gonna plead guilty).
Cease, Butler, and Jackson AND Capone (that's right Capone), testified against Kim.
Cease testified because he was there when the shit went down. (was threatened with prosecution unless he became a material witness to seeing Kim with Butler and Jackson at the station - felons, can't hang with felons)
Having them together on tape wasn't enough. They needed Cease to testify that Kim in fact knew both dudes very well prior to the incident.
The niggas testified against kim to shave a little time off their sentences.
They snitched. Cease included.
They 'turned state (evidence)', which is the classic hood definition of snitchin.

Situation 1.
Feds tell Cease he'll be charged with X unless he testifies.
Of course the 5th doesn't apply here because it violates the plea agreement.
Cease could have said 'no', and took his charges.
Situation 2.
Feds subpoena Cease to testify.
He can:
1.) Not show and get a bench warrant.
2.) Answer any and all questions.
3.) Plead the 5th.
Why, because otherwise he would have to admit in open court that he was in violation of probation.
So it's either:
1. Cease was compelled to testify.
or
2. Cease volunteered his testimony.

1) The Feds will come and get you if you do not show up for a supoena, whereas the local court systems in most "urban" areas are backlogged with little manpower for picking up parole violators on the same day as there violation.
2)Cease failed to see his PO, not not go to Federal court.
3) He is looking at a video tape showing himself, the defendants and the incident along with a court room full of people.
You mean to tell me that if you are sitting on the witness stand in Federal court facing freedom or five years, the prosocution has pictures of your homey and you chillin', another video of your homey bustin' at a group of people and you (not involved in the crime)running away from the scene, and pictures of you coming out your homey's house you would still plead the fifth(although you would not be allowed because the question IS NOT self-incriminating) AND go to jail for denying something that a entire courtroom could see? I am by no means patronizing you, but if you have enough sense to try and make a compelling argument on behalf of the "no-snitch" element than surely you have enough sense to TELL THE TRUTH in this particular situation. The only way you can successfully plead the fifth is if by testifying you would be incriminating yourself. Please take a Criminal Justice class before you speak on the law.

Because the case isn't about the shooting, it's about Lil Kim lying about knowing Butler and Jackson.
Cease isn't there to talk about the shooting. He's there to tell the jury that Kim is lying when she say's she 'can't remember' if she saw them (Butler/Jackson) at the radio station.
Cease is there to tell the jury that not only does Kim know them, but she used to fuck one of them, so HELL YEAH she should be able to remember if they were there at the station with her.
That's what he was there to talk about. The idea that it's impossible for her 'not to remember' if they were there.

Check this out...I read most of the posts on here. Everyone has their way of viewing things and so forth. I see many of you breaking things down like you all were there in the courthouse and what not. Don't go by what you see or here in the media. Not everything is 100% factual. Even what Kim says, or Cease says, remember, these are artists with managers and publicists that coach them on every syllable that comes out of thier mouths. I know everyone has their opinion and blogging is what's hot right now, to get your voice heard right? I can't really comment on what went down, because all I have to rely on is what the media says. And I'm a media major, so believe me, I know about 95% of it is taken out of context and misconstrued. All I can say is that I hope all this "hip hop beef" gets squashed when the smoke clears.
